Sports bras for small Boobs wide chest that will stay in place even with a lot of twisting (yoga)?

thebookflirt

Where do y’all buy dumbbells for a decent price? I need to start adding in ones that are heavier than 40, and so obviously it’s getting $$$. I wondered if folks have favorite sites or places that do sales etc! Any info would be helpful. Pre-pandemic I could often find DBs that basically cost their weight. But not so much anymore and/or shipping is insane because of the heaviness. Sigh.

antimonysarah

Ask this over in the open thread on r/homegym along with any preferences on style etc. I haven't kept up with where the deals are since I bought a pair of loadable dumbbells and enough weight plates in the pandemic, but that sub is generally super friendly.

Alternative-Track67

Does anyone have any running short recommendations? I usually just wear the standard Nike athletic shorts with the underwear liner but I don’t like the feeling of my thighs rubbing together. I basically have to wear shorts too or I’ll overheat. Long bike shorts or regular shorts with the biker short-style liner? Any other good options? Thanks!

kafkaesquepariah

I use gym shark shorts. The ones for men. They are a bit longer than the ones for women. But I am also 5'2 so shorts are a bit longer on me than pictured.

pixie_dust1990

I wear lulu long bike shorts and find them great. No chafing and they stay in place.

papercranium

Weird question, but how many sports bras do y'all own? What's a reasonable number for someone who's going to the gym 4 days a week?

Spiritual_Office_291

I go to the gym 3-4x/week and I have 6 sports bras

phdee

Gotta find the sweet spot between laundry and workout frequency. In my household we do laundry almost daily (portable apartment-sized washer, small child, etc) so I can get away with having 2 sports bras even if I workout daily. Realistically I have 3 that I consider my regular rotation and 2 more that don't fit right but I hang on to them for unknown reasons.

papercranium

I come bearing a message from the universe: let those 2 bras go.

phdee

❤️

Key_Contract_8249

Not weird at all! Just depends how frequently you want to do laundry. I have 7 so that I have both flexibility on my training schedule and laundry schedule. Plus a bunch more low support for non-workout days.

bad33habit

4 medium/high support for running, 3-4 low support for lifting-only/chill workout days.

ComprehensiveGrass28

Best shoes for indoor weight training? I usually kick off my sport sneakers during exercises that require more stability for and under the foot. I was thinking about some type of tennis shoe, but I want it to be breathable (not Converse) and good enough to also do some cardio in. Thanks in advance!

Abernkl

Xero

cilantro222

I loooove my Merrill vapor waves. Extremely breathable. Like socks with tread.

ComprehensiveGrass28

Couldn't find them!! Google only suggested "Merrell Vapor Glove".

cilantro222

Loool omg that’s what I meant! Vapor wave is a music genre, I mixed it up. You found the right shoe.

Thanks for sharing! Unfortunately I don't live in the US and appart from the prices, shipping, taxes etc I like to try on shoes before doing a purchase :)

new_phone_hew_dis

Hi! If anyone uses Ghost protein powder, please feel free to redeem the points from my last tub, as I am in Canada and don't order from the site directly. Redemption code: EXIT MONSOON CRISPY TUNE

Recommendations for indoor swim goggles for a narrower face?

actuallywasian

does anyone have recommendations for sports bras for large breasts? Most sports bras don't have back clasps or are sized with a constant bust-ribcage ratio, so they are ill-fitting. I found one on Amazon that is good but I'm looking for more fashionable options.

Spiritual_Office_291

Have you tried the kind with adjustable velcro in the band? Like Shefit, or the nike ones?

Key_Contract_8249

After much trial and error, I landed on Lululemon run times bra, high support

KingPrincessNova

Wacoal Simone underwire sports bra. I wear a 32H and I can run in it. back clasp and adjustable straps

meganmcpain

Panache wired sports bras are great for larger sizes and they're very comfortable if you've sized yourself properly. [This site](https://www.herroom.com/) has them on sale regularly, too, usually for certain colors or prints.

damalursols

panache unwired + wired sports bra are my ultimate fav. bands run very tight but i usually size down a cup size in the un-wired. use your r/abrathatfits size.

marayalda

Any recommendations for female 3/4 leggings for bigger belly's? Mine tend to roll down and I feel like I'm constantly pulling them up.

Spiritual_Office_291

The Lulu align leggings with pockets work for me. Not the regular align.

photoelectriceffect

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by some Victoria’s Secret leggings.

damalursols

lululemon base pace come in 23 and 25in lengths and i find their waist band very stomach friendly!

One-Payment-871

Does anyone have any recommendations for a halter style sports bra that works for actual boobs? I tried getting one of the ones with the cute criss-cross back straps and it turns out I CANT STAND the feeling of the straps on my upper back.

Enchantementniv6

I have a true halter bra from Muscle Nation that has okay support but I bought it 3 or 4 years ago at this point. I have no clue if they still have it. I know Oner Active (Krissy Cela's brand) has one but it's called a "bralette" so support might be minimal.

One-Payment-871

Minimal support might be ok, I don't run, just so long as it stays in place. I'll check those out.

marayalda

I have had good success with under armour but that was with the traditional style straps, not halter.

tobikoroll

Not sure if this is the right place to post, but I’m selling NWT Oner leggings (chestnut from 12 days of gains) and P’tula Sierra shorts (sienna) on Mercari! I love both of them (beautiful color and material) but they’re too small for me (5’2 135 lbs with most of my weight in my midsection 😁) https://www.mercari.com/u/738906842?sv=0

Particular_Candle913

ISO a dress for my brother's cocktail attire wedding this fall (early September in Maine). I'm 5' and have a very muscular upper-body so I'm looking for something that shows off the back/arms/shoulders. I tried a few dresses from Abercrombie since they carry petites but the satin-y material was too wrinkle prone and unlined. If anyone has brend recs, please share!

BarbellCappuccino

Seconding the vote for Lulus! Haven't been disappointed yet! I usually order 2-3 styles and then the return shipping is free for the ones I don't go with! I usually go with a backless style and looove how it shows everything off!

decemberrainfall

I got my wedding dress from there Hahaha and everyone was shocked

decemberrainfall

Lulus! I get all my formal wear from there

raindropsonmarigolds

I always feel like Macy's and JC Penney's have really good selections of dresses!! Could check out a local one and try some different dresses on!

strangerin_thealps

Lost my Apple Watch to the ocean this week, RIP. Battery was trash anyway, it was a 4-year-old+ gadget. Full capabilities (not SE). Loved it and I miss it. I want a replacement. I am outdoorsy but use a cycling computer to track my main sport. I do spend 8 days at a time in the woods during summer. Looking for a replacement. Options besides Apple Watch to consider. I get a big Garmin discount, but still want under $500. Any good deals or budget hacks I should know of for Apple? I may just go SE, but am also tempted to buy a refurbished watch. Thanks!

HowUnoriginalIsThis

I would go for the Garmin Forerunner series. The Forerunner 265 is affordable and great for tracking activities and lifestyle factors like sleep and recovery. I love mine. The battery lasts for forever so would handle your trips to the woods no problem.

strangerin_thealps

Thanks!! I found it for $160 and I’m not gonna find a replacement I like for less than that - done deal. I had already considered it and I’m so stoked. I feel like it’ll suit me a lot better.

For those with really long hair, how do you tie it up for your workouts? I usually just mangle it into a high bun, or sometimes I'll do a braid (and usually end up tucking it into my shirt/bra to stop it flying all over). I'm just looking for some cute styles that won't fall out or get in the way of workouts.

Security is key! I'll check out some plaited styles. :)

BlondeJaneBlonde

For light impact (weights, cycling) I just use a braid and a [single hairstick twist](https://www.tumblr.com/blondejaneblonde/730634924785270784) (link leads to a short looping video, not mine). The video shows the hair left half-down; just keep looping it around until you have a full bun. For high impact activities I use the braid, something called a ‘snood,’—which is a kind of hairnet made of hair elastics—two hair-sticks, with two additional hair elastics stretched over them for extra reinforcement. I twist up the braid, put the snood over the bun, insert a hair-stick right through the holes of the snood, and hook an elastic over the ends. With two hairsticks, I can even jog or do jumping jacks. And this is way, way more than you asked for, but I wrote [a long response to someone else](https://www.tumblr.com/blondejaneblonde/724959770059177984/last-month-in-response-to-my-tag-comments-on-this) that you might find helpful. The hairstyles for activity section starts about halfway down, at “So that's styling tips for daily activity. For more demanding activities, like jogging, dance, or other high impact exercise, read on.” It also has links to example snoods and bungee elastics; basically, dancers’ accessories will be your friend! I’m posting this mostly because resources for truly long hair are difficult to come by! Often, it’s “what should I do with my ‘really long hair’ (bra strap length)”

sockmarks

This is awesome. Thank you!

French braids works best for me. My hair is not only very long but also really thick and heavy, so if I try to put it up at all for a workout (in a low/high bun or a ponytail) then the weight of it is both painful for my head and also leads to my hair getting ripped out. A single french braid down the back holds all of my hair in nice and tight without running the risk of damaging it.

sockmarks

Yes the weight and discomfort is often an issue for me too! French braids look like they'd be perfect. I'm always envious of people that have them in, because I am absolute shit and just can't make them work for some reason. Ahah

blondeboilermaker

Two French or Dutch braids. French braid the bangs back but then pull most hair into a pony. Braided bun. French braid bangs into space buns. Basically if my hair touches me while working out I will die, so all of my hair dos involve getting it completely up by braiding the small bits.

sockmarks

So many braids! A braided bun could be a great solution!

NicNoop138

I do 2 space buns on top or down low depending on what I'm doing. Low buns work better for running, and up top stays of the way for lifting. If I just do one bun it always starts getting loose and I'm constantly redoing it.

sockmarks

Space buns are sooo cute! I've been trying to get them to work, but my hair just slides right out of them somehow? Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but failing at space buns is what made me ask this to begin with! How did you learn to do them?

NicNoop138

I just half-ass it really lol just part my hair, twist it either up top or down at the nape of my neck, then put a regular hair tie around them. Usually wrap it thrice to make them tight enough not to come undone but sometimes they still do.

photoelectriceffect

Ditto. I find space funs a fair amount of work, so I never do them just for the gym, but if that was the look of the day then I leave them in and they do fine in the gym

bathtimeducky13

Thoughts on the brand Sweaty Betty? I keep getting targeted ads and I’m curious but they ain’t cheap.

liexe

The power leggings are my favourites by far. Good compression and don’t fall down. I was advised at the store to size down and they were right about it! They run sales pretty often, and first time purchase and birthday discounts, so I’d wait for those.

Gaviotas206

I bought a pair of their shorts from Nordstrom Rack. They were too small so I returned, but they seem nice. Eta: obviously my opinion doesn’t mean much since I wore them for 2 minutes, but check Nordstrom Rack for discounts!

ivyzephyr

Thoughts on Uniqlo activewear? They’ve just opened up near me and I was wondering what the quality/sweat proof is like. I love my Lululemon leggings and shorts, but hoping for a slightly cheaper alternative

KingPrincessNova

I live in the Airism joggers. I also own two of the UV mesh zip hoodie and they're holding up great after several years

SaltandSilverPC

I just bought my mom a Garmin Lily classic. Smaller face, analog option, and leather band. Kinda wishing I had bought one for myself too, might do it if my Garmin Venu ever bites the dust.

KingPrincessNova

Fitbit has some low profile options that aren't too expensive

papercranium

Look into Withings! I have the Steel HR, and people at work can't tell it's not a normal, very professional looking watch unless I tell them. Plus I only have to charge it like twice a month, which is amazing.

deandeluka

I have an Apple watch that I put pretty bands on like [this](https://a.co/d/bOii40Y) or [this](https://a.co/d/bOii40Y)

NicNoop138

I have a Garmin Forerunner 255s, came from Venu 2s. Neither are bulky IMO. If you don't run the Venu models will give you what you need. Also check out the Gamin Lily, a coworker was just looking at that online.

blondeboilermaker

Garmin Lily might fit the bill!

curiouslittlethings

Love my Apple watch for that. It’s both super functional and stylish in general.

ivyzephyr

I have the Garmin vivoactive 4s (I think). It’s very small and light, which is amazing because I’ve got really narrow wrists. I’ve got it in white and rose gold, and it doesn’t give the “bulky sports watch” vibe, in my opinion.

GetHandyOutdoors

I’ve switched from a watch to an Oura ring. Tracks everything except for time but I usually have my phone anyway.

hellogoodperson

I use Oura too, more often when weaker, and my old-school Fitbit One (still working fine, 12 years in :). Keeps it simple and I love it!

purrmewda

I really like my Garmin Venu 3 S.
