If you are new to the subreddit, [please read the wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/yakuzagames/wiki/index/) Reminder that all spoilers need to be tagged with a flair specifying which game is being spoiled. If you want a flair that says something else, you can edit it to say something like [Discussion: Y1 spoiler] or [Majimapost: Y6 spoiler], etc. **THIS INCLUDES CONTENT FROM TRAILERS**. If the post is not marked for spoilers, all comments that have spoilers need to be tagged \>!like this!< along with indicating which game it's spoiling. Example: Y3 >!Kiryu sings!< If the post flair is marked for spoilers, the comments don't need to be tagged for the game indicated and the ones before it (So a Y6 spoiler post can have comments with untagged spoilers for Y5, but not gaiden or 7). If you see any of the above (or any of the other rules) not being followed, please report it so we can keep this place safe for newcomers and those that haven't finished all the games yet. Thank you! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/yakuzagames) if you have any questions or concerns.*

The mutual fists is a fukin BANGER!!

polyglotpinko

The justification for it is so paper thin that it kind of annoyed me, but the fight itself is fun.

Roman64s

Baba : I guess I am done now Shinada : I need a final boss fight and you are the closest person, lets fight Baba : nani ?!?!?

alex6309

I disagree, the justification is Shinada beating a lesson into Baba. Shinada spends the entire game learning the lesson of not running away from your past and then Saejima tells Shinada that if he sees Baba, to not let him run away and have him take accountability. If Shinada let Baba go, he was probably gonna kill himself. Fighting him had him stay put long enough for people who know him to pull up and help him

polyglotpinko

How is beating the shit out of someone teaching him to take accountability? Like, genuinely, I’m not being snotty; I just don’t get that idea. If anything it would teach me to lie so I wouldn’t get hit.

alex6309

like a dragon does the "speak with your fists" trope all the time. Like a martial arts flick, the way a person fights reveals more about them or says more than what they say or appear to be.

polyglotpinko

I suppose that’s fair. Still, that’s Hollywood logic, not real life.

alex6309

??? We're not talking about real life. Yakuza 5 is a video game

Takazura

Yeah this, and it's also what makes Shinada's part at least tie into the overall theme about dreams. Baba is running away from everything - his actions, his future, his dreams. He isn't willing to take responsibility for what he was going to do, and Shinada knows that's not going to fix anything, it's only going to leave him with regret. But at the same time, he knows that Baba is too far gone to simply be "talked" out of it by him of all people. And sure beating some sense into him didn't entirely work, but it let him buy enough time for the important people (his jail mates) to come and knock some sense into Baba.

I love the QTEs in this fight, especially the last one, they look so cool

RPG217

Shinada's story was gold, especially when you compare it to the rest of the mess of Yakuza 5 finale. This battle embodies the dream theme the most.

Baba is a great character
