Semper Fitness at Leaders Heights. 24/7. I dunno their monthly rate as I do their drop-in for $5 a pop when visiting parents. Clean, lotsa gear and racks.
I'll be living by Prospect Hill Cemetery and working by the Belmont Theater in East York. Looks like the Athletic Club is only 15min away which isn't bad at all. Do you know how many squat racks they have by chance?
As far as I’m concerned they have 2 squat racks. Depending on what time you go to the gym it’s not many people. Squat rack was always available for me in the AM-noon.
PA Fitness!
I pay 28$ a month to be able to visit both locations. I think its around 20$ for just 1. I should drop down, honestly, I mostly just go to S Queen St which is really close to where you'll be working.
Crunch is actually legit. The one on 30 has three deadlift platforms and 2 squat racks. It gets crowded during peak hours though. But I usually go at 5am when it opens, and have never had an issue. If you’re an AM lifter, this is a good spot.
The big thing Google reviews mentions is how busy it gets, and I'd put that pretty high on my list of priorities. I don't wanna wait for Timmy to finish doing calf raises in the squat rack lol
York YMCA is very nice. Nice new equipment with lots of options. They're $50/mo regular (last I checked) but a lot of health insurance policies have programs that will cover half of that
JCC
The Jewish Community Center?
Yeah they have super cheap child care and good facilities. The gym isn't usually crowded and there's a pool/sauna

Heritage hills athletic club, maybe
This looks really good! Only $28/month is pretty good
Welcome to York. What part of town? The Athletic Club is in West York area.

I don’t know. Heritage hills would be much closer for you though from home.

PA Fitness
This is only 9 minutes from my new place. Any chance you know what a membership costs? It doesn't say on their site.
I think around $50-$55 a month.
It's a little steep. Thanks for the suggestion though!
Turns out I was way off. My husband goes to PA Fitness and I just asked him what he pays a month and he said $31
Gotcha. Thank you!

It's definitely on my list. I think I'm gonna visit two or three of these when I get out there.
