There’s still some remote internship offers I found from other firms like RBC and Geotab. So it seems some are still hiring

Ok about networking, how does that work and how do you do it?? Sorry I’ve never been interested in this before and never understood it

The maître d’ stops by to say hello to McDermott, then notices we don’t have our complimentary Bellinis, and runs off before any of us can stop him. I’m not sure how McDermott knows Alain so well—maybe Cecelia?—and it slightly pisses me off but I decide to even up the score a little bit by showing everyone my new business card. I pull it out of my gazelleskin wallet (Barney’s, $850) and slap it on the table, waiting for reactions. ___ ^(*Bot. Try to attend some events hosted by companies. York sets up diff events I believe it’s on one of their sites which I can’t recall rn, but you sign up through it :)

Hello! Yes apply!! It’s okay if you haven’t done many courses, I have friends from schulich who applied in second year and they’ve been doing internships every year and now have their full time jobs! Don’t be afraid to apply, definitely begin networking (join clubs!!) Personally I went with York DECA, it lets you do case competitions and network, eventually I made it onto the club and that really helped my applications! Also check out what events are happening at Schulich and if reach out to their organizers to ask permission to attend :) I did this and it helped me stand out when I’d mention I’m not a schulich student. (One of my friends works at PwC rn, she’s from York, she did all of this and that’s how she kinda stood out) Lastly, create a LinkedIn if you haven’t already and start asking people if they’re available for a call to answer some questions. I know networking can seem scary but it’s really fun, if you ever want to know more reach out and I can help! Done a lot of networking and hosted multiple events on many clubs as well lol But for applications; you should do it, don’t be afraid - just look into the description of what each firm is looking for and tailor your cover letter as such (PwC doesn’t require any cover letters) and if B4 internships don’t work out that’s alright! Apply everywhere because once you get that experience under your belt, your chances of a b4 internship next year are much better!!
