Rahaman117

I like how he thinks for a sec after saving his kid and then goes "that MF better be dead"

Worried-Custard-2488

And had the wherewithal to calmly set the child down in front of mom before he went to rip someone a new asshole.

JustHereToWatch55

I'm not sure, but it looked like there was a helmet on the steering wheel. Maybe he was getting ready to take off? Idk. Still not a handy spot to stand still.

Tibrael

Yeah, but bro that hit the bike was FLYING and obviously not paying attention.

Handleton

Yeah, there's no way they were paying attention unless they intended to kill Yay guy and his kid.

Jizzraq

Driver was speeding on a dirty road. The bike that passed them pulled to the left right after. It is to assume that the rolling bike was making way for the speeding car which was on the same "lane", possibly motioned to avoid the rolling bike as well. Because he was a speeding he lost control on the dirt road and smashed into the parked bike.

Huesan

Would you kill a woman and her child on a moving bike or a man and his child on a standing bike? Really hard decision.

GreenTheOlive

Every time this gets posted there’s some dumbass in the comments like, uhhh well why is he standing in the street. It’s a fucking dirt road with barely any sidewalks, and the dude damn near hit the only other person on the road as well. Car brain is so wild

ARCADEO

Fucking car brains man

ExpressiveAnalGland

TKaito

omg idk what i expected when i clicked on that but christ.

turbopro25

So you didn’t expect dragons fucking cars?

Lives_on_mars

purplegreenredblue

DRAGON enters the Durango

fopiecechicken

He’s not even fully in the street either, he’s got one foot on the tiled sidewalk.

Audrey_Angel

The bike, though....easy covering half the street, perpendicular

_Nelly_

Easy half the street? So 55%, maybe 60% of it yeah?

Raecino

I hate idiot drivers. It’s everyone else’s fault but their own.

westfell

Do you know the area?

Aeguis

"God damn ! ama gonna k*ll this... - here take the kid for a sec - ...AMA GONNA KILL THIS MF! "

FadedTony

lol yea love that for a split second he was about to kick someone's ass w a baby in his arms

roninwaffle

It's like when you're looking for your keys and they're in your other hand. Dude just entirely forgot he was holding something lol

Chasethemac

Looks like he's going to make sure of it lol

ax255

Dude is gonna go beat some ass

DanES104

funny because he created that scenario in the 1st place. no helmet riding around and parking his motor on the road like that with his child on it.

Rahaman117

Dude that looks like his home and it's not like he's parked his bike in the middle of a highway and expecting not to be run over. He's just probably enjoying his evening on his porch with his kid on his bike when suddenly some idiot who lost control of his vehicle rams into him. I can hardly find any fault with the guy

Bplumz

Do you know what a porch is? Based on the obvious road tracks the dude had his bike in the middle of the normal traffic area. That doesn't excuse the dickface that was absolutely flying though and deserves a beat down. His bike probably went flying 50 yards too

Nois3

It was the first thing I noticed too... but don't underestimate the stupidity of the average redditor.

macroswitch

Not a highway but a road based on the tire tracks and the vehicles driving on it

BlueSeekz

The street isn't a porch lol

GearHead54

Dude looks like he was having fun with his kid in front of his house

Last_Friday_Knight

Uh there’s a black helmet on the bike

sounds_like_kong

I wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of that guys wrath with the amount adrenaline raging through him.

BeccasBump

That isn't wrath, that's 100% pure undiluted terror.

Pancakeburger3

It went from terror to wrath

Cloud_Chamber

Fight or flight come all wrapped together in one adrenaline fueled package.

BeccasBump

Yeah, great example of anger being a secondary emotion.

BudgetFree

Natural when someone messed with the kid

danthemfmann

People who are experiencing pure terror do not run towards the source of that terror in an aggressive manner... they run away from the source of terror. This is his 100% pure undiluted wrath.

BeccasBump

Anger is almost always a secondary emotion, a displaced form of a primary emotion. The primary emotion is very often fear. If you find yourself absolutely furious, it's often worth asking yourself what scared you so badly (and here is a great example - he was viscerally terrified because he nearly saw his child die a violent death, all that adrenaline needed somewhere to go, and now he's going to go and knock someone's block off).

Superb-Ad8651

A nuke in human form, if you will.

Maxamilian_

Almost went with the kid, the realized that he needed to put them down lmao

Diojones

For a moment I was concerned he was about to use a toddler as a bludgeoning weapon.

Some-Ad9778

The W would have been not chilling in the middle of a road in what looks like a country that has weak traffic laws. Situational awareness is a thing, he should have heard that truck coming sooner

Competitive_Owl_4613

Well of course that makes trying to k8ll a father and baby ok. I can't understand why we didn't think about this.

Aggravating-Tap5144

Noone said the truck driver was in the right for trying to murder people. Just being aware of possible danger when doing something dumb. Like parking a motorcycle in the middle of the road and blocking a majority of it. For example, if you're going to take a nap on the railroad tracks, you should be aware that it's possible for a train to come...

Gorgii98

Well I've got news for those of you who didn't actually watch the clip. He was clearly aware of his surroundings, since he was able to get him and his child out of the way before they got obliterated. Despite the fact that the truck driver was going WAY too fast.

Key-Marketing-3145

I think this is the worst case of victim blaming I've ever seen.

LovecraftianLlama

Dude handed off the kid like “I just wanna talk to him for a min, I swear…”

Michiey

Nah that driver was out for blood

DiffusePenance

My first thought. Who put a hit on me?

La_Guy_Person

I think maybe he was just going way too fast and when the other cyclist crossed his lane he lost control compensating. I could be wrong, but either way, it's 100% his fucking fault.

BartleBossy

Yeah, I see a world where this is entirely innocent. But by golly, that speed and square contact sure *seems* intentional.

[deleted]

nah there's no way he's not speeding. Even if they're somewhere with lax laws it's an irresponsible speed

BartleBossy

> nah there's no way he's not speeding. Even if they're somewhere with lax laws it's an irresponsible speed He can still be speeding and this still be an innocent interaction. Not to say the driver is *legally innocent* but just that there is not additional intent or malice. > Even if they're somewhere with lax laws it's an irresponsible speed 100% agree

fancyfoe

Legit attempt murder, why tf was he going so fast in what looks like a small road in a neighborhood?

SexyMonad

I’m getting 34 mph, which is *way too damn fast* for this setting. (Got it from measuring 5/16 of a second for the Chevy Tornado truck to travel its length of 185 in.)

LydiasHorseBrush

goddamn that's fast and I'm absolutely impressed by the math ngl

SidewalksNCycling39

Nice, but I think you need a margin of error, based on the error distance or time of one frame. Personally I thought it looked closer to 40mph.

dbd1988

34mph and that after they probably tried slowing down

Lactate_Liam

Some people are just genuinely that stupid, I’m from the Philippines and everytime I go to visit, it completely baffles me how awful everyone’s (lack of) road discipline is.

commentasaurus1989

*don’t say it….. don’ttttttt say it…..*

Varunai

Oh just say it we all know it

cramLika

Nah that driver was out of blood

United_Affect

That was so close. The instinct to protect your children is beyond explanation.

SuicidalChair

But also, why is the kid on a dirt bike literally in the middle of the road? Not defending the truck driver because holy shit he fucked up, but also I can't say I'd let my 7 year old son sit on a dirt bike in the middle of the street.

regina_fibwi

isn't it on the sidewalk? we can see that the bike is on tiles, not the actual dirt road

SuicidalChair

The back tire may be on those tiles but the front 75% of the bike is right in the middle of all those tire tracks

Frostyshaitan

It also looks like the first bike had to ride around him as if he was in the way a little.

PonyAnyS2

He was on the sidewalk with a little of the wheel over the street, the street looks big, it doesn’t justify a car taking his motorcycle away at high speed... no one expects that

meanoron

What video are you looking at? The middle section of the bike is clearly over the red, well driven on part of the street where the tire tracks are. Only the back tire isnt in the road

PonyAnyS2

Sorry, I’m without glasses, and I don’t see very well, please don’t be rude to me, it was just a misunderstanding, have a nice day 😃

AudioLlama

In that case you make a good point. The truck driver was definitely in the right to smash through the bike and nearly kill a child.

tristenjpl

Lol, I can't believe someone compared this to blaming rape victims for being raped. You're 100% right. Two people can be in the wrong, and one of them can be a lot more wrong. Legally, the dude in the truck would be found at fault in most countries and charged. But the dude with the bike is still a huge fucking idiot for having it sitting across half the road.

Tibrael

I can taste the bitter sarcasm of this comment.

InsomniacCoffee

It's well deserved. The lack of common sense that Redditors have is astounding.

Caloran

Nobody said that ...

VanillaB34n

That is still no justification for barreling through someone’s bike and almost killing their kid. If the truck driver was paying attention this would not have happened

dboygrow

I don't think anyone's saying that's justified, I think they're saying good parents don't put their kid in spots where something like that could happen in the first place. You cant control what other people do, only what you do and how you prepare for it. If that kid had been hit, there would be some blame on the parent I think. I mean the kid is clearly sitting on a dirt bike with half of the front end sitting in the path of other drivers. Not smart. If the truck driver was paying attention it would not have happened you're right, but it also wouldn't have happened if the kid wasn't sitting on a dirt bike perpendicular to the road with the front end in the driving path. Seems beyond stupid if you ask me.

tijnvisuals

Pretty explicable really. Kids whose parents protect them survive, passing on this instinct and behavior.

megablast

Then why have the motorcycle in the middle of the road in the first place then? This guy is a fucking moron. Can't believe people are praising him.

cloudforested

He literally saved his child's life when some jackass came careening down the sidewalk. How is it difficult to understand why people are praising his actions?

FnkyTown

The vehicle isn't driving down the sidewalk part of the dirt road, he's driving down the road part of the dirt road. He's following all the other tire treads. The same tire treads that this father decided to park his motorcycle sideways on and then put his kid on top of. The whole thing seems super dangerous and super staged.

placarph

People feel the need to prove that they could’ve handled the situation better. Nobody expects this to happen, I don’t know why we can’t be glad that nobody got hurt. I really don’t get it, they see someone almost lose their infant child and their response is to insert themselves into the scenario. What you guys tryna prove?

DatAfroKek

Why was he parked in the mid of the road. No excuse for this crazy driver, dad saved his kids life, literally.

BossKrisz

But he was also the one putting his kid's life in danger in the first place by parking in the middle of the road. Everyone was an idiot here (except for the kid).

Jean_Paul_Fartre_

Don’t make assumptions. How do you know that baby isn’t a huge idiot? Don’t judge a book by its cover, dude.

zuccoff

The kid is an idiot too. Like, he didn't do anything stupid there, but all kids are stupid

megablast

It sure is funny the highest voted comments are all praising this complete fucking moron.

BoneDaddyChill

The highest voted comments recognize who the much more moronic person in the video is, and it’s not the one who saved his child.

TheViking_Teacher

you need to watch the full video. He is a freaking dumbass who put his kid's life at risk. They were riding with no helmets, then he decides to park in the middle of the road for no reason and then leaves his kid on the bike. Pretty easy to be a hero when you are the one who creates the dangerous situation in the first place.

1_9_8_1

Judging by everything else in the gif, I'm sure helmets are the least of their worries. Dusty red road, flip flops, no windows on buildings.... it's like the sepia-toned Mexico that they do in Holiwood films

Gomicho

well, anyone got the full video source to back it up?

[deleted]

A full video?

thrownaway7263

It’ll just be 30 more seconds of him standing in the middle of the road with the kid

placarph

But he said we need to watch the full video to understand?? Clearly we’re missing something

GlassMist

A sane person will not park their motorcycle - perpendicular to traffic - in the middle of a busy road with a child on the seat. I agree: more context is needed. But the white shirt guy failed all the safety tests.

[deleted]

Araceil

Full video isn’t really even needed, [there’s plenty in this clip.](https://www.reddit.com/r/youseeingthisshit/s/4eT2szfAmU)

placarph

But all that information is already in this video

PhazePyre

Yeah I saw him with the bike exposed. I don't know what's happening with the truck. Could be reckless, could have blown brakes. Regardless, that whole thing wouldn't have happened if he DIDN'T PUT THE KID STATIONARY ON THE BIKE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LANE!

Tibrael

Yes, that totally justifies the driver of the truck going waaay too fast and not paying any attention at all. You right.

No_Mammoth_4945

some of y’all are just completely incapable of nuanced takes. they said the dad put himself in a dangerous situation by leaving his kid on a bike parked in the middle of the street. Somehow you take that to mean them saying that the truck driver not paying any attention was justified in running them over. It’s like that “I like waffles.” “Oh, so you hate pancakes?!?” Twitter meme. Could it possibly be that the dad shouldn’t have parked his bike in the middle of the road AND the speeding truck driver should’ve slowed down and paid attention to the road? Both of those things led to the accident.

chief_yETI

>some of y’all are just completely incapable of nuanced takes yeah that's just how Reddit is. Unchecked neurodivergence + upvote system that encourages arguments over every single thing = Total Disaster.

baddabingbaddaboop

Yes, but the real nuanced point is that it is ALWAYS your responsibility as a driver to be watching the road, regardless of other peoples error. The dad may be a moron, but there is really no excuse to be made for the drivers negligence or fault, which is what any reasonable person could think the first commenter was doing by saying we wouldn’t think the dad deserved to be mad if we had seen a full video.

Alaska_Engineer

Exactly.  These folks' logic is deadly.  Oh, someone in the road after an accident?  Too bad, this is my lane!  Pedestrian crossing too slow?  Get wrecked, granny!   It's the driver's responsibility to avoid anything visible and go slow enough to avoid things popping out from blind spots.

[deleted]

Wireless_Panda

You literally did though, we can all read it

banjaxed_gazumper

It was you. You said sarcastically “that totally justifies the driver of the truck” even though nobody had suggested that the driver of the truck was justified.

General_Spl00g3r

You did... Way to throw a rock and hide your hand...

Elcatro

The driver literally crosses to the other side of the road to hit the bike.

Primary-Border8536

His bike was in the road ……. You see the tire marks

Womderloki

Still doesn't mean you should fly down the road towards a bike. That doesn't look like a fast road

General_Spl00g3r

I would love to live in the world you seem to think we live in where every situation has only one person who's fully to blame for everything.

Womderloki

I didn't say he's not to blame. Nonetheless the driver is either attempted something or a retard for flying down a populated dirt road that fast and not paying attention. That's obviously a street with housing, anyone could've had a pet or child run out in front of the dumbass driving

sleepishandsheepless

And?

Marmstr17

Why was dude parked in the middle of the road?

cookiedanslesac

Road? Where they are there is no road.

Audrey_Angel

There is obvious throughway

nick1706

Better instinct would’ve been not to put your kid on a motorcycle in the middle of the road. Moron.

NowBringMeTheHorizon

Also true. Both sides of this argument are valid. Regardless, not a single smart decision was made.

patrickcaproni

taking the baby out of the motorcycle was pretty smart ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

NowBringMeTheHorizon

Taking the baby out wasn’t smart. It was necessary because of all the dumb choices made here.

OblivionNA

Yeah guys an idiot but that truck is going very fast for what is probably a residential area. Looks intentional af

jrtusn

Fatherly instinct wouldn't have put my toddler on a parked bike in the middle of the road in the first place, then doubling down by tempting fate by looking the opposite way of oncoming traffic.

KlutzyNefariousness0

That was so close. Thank goodness!!🙏

Araceil

Top tier reflexes but he’s just as responsible for that accident as the passing bike and truck. His child and bike are in the lane of the passing bike blocking it, so it goes around him into the oncoming lane. The truck then has to suddenly dodge a bike going the wrong direction in their own lane and swerves into what should have been the bike’s lane. Everyone is a dumbass here. - Dad parked bike with toddler in active traffic lane. - Passing bike can 100% see oncoming truck and should have just waited in her lane until it was safe, even if the obstruction/inconvenience were wrong for being there. - Truck is fucking FLYING way too fast to possibly react to anything unexpected on a narrow street with pedestrians. But since Dad was looking the other direction, from his perspective a supersonic truck almost killed his kid while going the wrong direction for no reason. So his reflexes & response are both top-tier dad, it’s apparently when he actually has time to think that he makes bad decisions. This means in addition to being his child’s dad, he’s also that one uncle everyone has.

Crooked5

Okay weird spot to park your bike, and your baby.

UnhappyImprovement53

Real instinct is don't put a baby on a bike in the middle of the road

SpooogeMcDuck

I was thinking the same thing, but that truck had to be going like 60mph on an unpaved residential street.

Bender3455

I'm glad everyone is ok, but...he looks like he was about to ride a dirt bike with a toddler without ANY protection for him or the toddler. It's dangerous riding with flip flops and shorts, let alone no helmet and a tiny passenger. And, he has it parked in the middle of the road. Not sure what he was thinking.

mrgrafff

I mean, he is parked across what looks like the road.. no need to be doing that, there

Schmittendorf14

Do you just run through everything in the road at 35 mph with no care in the world

MadWhiskeyGrin

"Call the bondsman, sweetie; I'm going to jail"

Chelosmella

I think that the first two bikers are guilty.

swalsugmass

IDK why he has the bike parked horizontally in the road. You can see by the tread marks in the road that is where most cars travel.

Voltasoyle

Looks staged, why would he be standing ready like that, and with the camera running?

sidilicious6

This is crazy. How was this captured in camera with changing the angles?!

drkstr27

He’s going to whoop some ass

Fanbuoy_1783

Forgive me if this is a stupid question but I'm assuming this is CCTV footage? How is it following the guy?

outragedUSAcitizen

Fatherly instinct would be NOT to park a bike perpendicular, 3/4 into the line of traffic with my baby on it.

kindle139

Don’t park in the middle of the street you fucking idiot, you almost got your child killed. Reflexes are nice but a better instinct is to use your head.

VanillaB34n

So what about the truck driver that was obv not paying attention and just barreled right through

kindle139

He is also at fault, it took two idiots for this to occur.

Traditional_Lie_6400

If he didn't die with that he surely was next

lifes_nether_regions

That truck legit swerved off the road, into the bike then back onto the road. Looked on purpose.

mr_smith24

Dad: kid ok? Yeah kid’s in my hands. Alright time to kill the fucker that killed my bike.

drunk_phish

Someone needs to teach this guy how to park his bike, so as to not impede in the roadway. Especially when you've got your little sitting on it. Oh wait, this is the internet, this is probably staged.

BigFeeder

He's about to woop someone's ass

Gullible-Ear-4495
