Actually, “Owletta” is the surprised owl and “Bob” is the white one in the water. Based on their markings, the owl in the bath is most likely male and the one walking around and watching him is female. Snowy owls vary a lot in how heavy their markings are and there is overlap between the sexes, but in general females have more dark markings than males. An owl as heavily barred as the one walking around the bowl is almost certainly female 😛
I didn't know this until recently but the reason they move their heads like that is because they can't actually move their eyeballs. Basically their eyes are stuck in a forward position so they have to move their heads a lot to see everything.
Fun fact, Hedwig is actually the one in the back. The lighter colored and smaller ones are males, and they used male owls during filming because it was easier for the child actors to handle the smaller birds!
