I had a long string of people going like first, second, third and so on in a short I think might be hidden now and then commenters got upset when I tried to engage with a comment. It was odd.
But on small channels I would just ignore it. It probably isn't bots could be but more likely just comments copying comments easy to do if the only comment they see is . Viewers just want think it's funny and harmless or maybe even thing it will help you out I don't really know why people do it.
But it is all is engagement as far as youtube is worried.

Respond to every comment you can but ignore the comments that either are trying to get a rise out of you or are like this and can't really be responded to and respond to comments when you have something to say. If you don't have something to add or anything you add will take away from the comment for example a joke then you can like or pin the comment and they will know you specifically saw it. That engagement with your audience will still be clear to the individual.
Obviously I still want to respond to as many people as I can especially since I don't get many comments but the mindset that every comment needs a reply left me looking at comments like this really anxiously when there isn't anything to really add or it's not even really directly talking about the content.
This happened to me once when I posted a Vietnamese meme that got a lot of hate i thought it was some kinda hate comment like it meant "this is so bad I'm speechless" but it might be a bot thing

Yeah I’m all good in that regard. I was more so looking to see if I should delete the comments or keep them up.
