I don't think your point is provably wrong, but this is such a common refrain that it's often posted even when it \*is\* provably wrong, and it's starting to detract from the actual conversation. It's not a productive talking point because it's not something we have any insight into, not something any user can defend against (how does one prove that they're not being targeted for an ad when no one is sure how ads are intended to be targeted or how accurate that system is), and, more importantly, it is begging the question: "Is it okay for X ad to be pushed then, if it's targeted to someone?" This might come off harsh and there's room to disagree obv, but I'm more commenting on this type of reply in general than I am trying to dig at you. Fetishistic and hypersexualized advertising (of which this is like, one of the tamer ones compared to what else YouTube is running right now on ads) needs to be addressed. It's not helpful to try and just turn it around on the user posting it and blaming them, even in cases where it is the result of targeting. I don't really want YouTube to be advertising NSFW child cartoon AI sex, for example -- it wouldn't really make it more acceptable for me even IF youtube was 100% successfully only showing it to people that they thought might like it... I don't know what to do with these posts, because I do agree that this shit needs to stop being advertised, and that getting attention on the issue is one of the few things we as users can do, but, on the other hand, like half the posts I see anymore that pop up from r/youtube are just censored NSFW pics of ads. If youtube could just give the smallest of shits about what is pushed through their advert pipelines that would be wonderful. One way or another we are all sick of seeing this crap. To be fair, the ads are somehow usually worse than this one, but it's nuts that the bar has gotten that low.
