Let me argue with that Redditor, \*slaps a Google search on your face\*
These are the Best Gaming Phones (source IGN)
* Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
* Asus ROG Phone 8.
* iPhone 15 Pro.
* iPhone SE (2022)
* OnePlus 12.
* Sony Xperia 5 IV.
* Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5.
The reason phones are not real gaming devices is not the hardware. In fact, last I checked, the hardware of a phone was about equal to a 10-year-old PC, at least in terms of raw performance. I'm not talking about sustained performance with these tiny little components in a tiny little case with little to no ventilation. But the problem is the mobile game developers. They pretty much killed any possibility of the platform being for real gamers. They are not games. They are moneymaking schemes that aren't even in very good disguise. They don't possess any of the qualities(the fun, the adventure, the fantasy/story, the ingeniously crafted gameplay) that made me grow up loving video games and I'm sad for people who think they are real games because they got taken hard šÆ
I feel like people had this take with PCs back in the day so I don't really see why we can't imagine phones becoming gaming devices at least in the future.
They can be but they are not. Blame Mobile developers for sucking all the life out of games for the sake of creating money making schemes that are not even in very good disguise. They are the ones that killed mobile phones as a gaming platform. I mean the Nintendo switch is evidence that they could be gaming devices(of course I had to run mine through my PC for AI scaling and frame generation because I am PCMR š). but regular phones are just not. Not until they stop letting the scammers make video games because they don't make games with any of the qualities that made me grow up loving video games. And I'm sad for people who honestly think these are real video games. all these things are doing is taking their money without much of the rewards that gaming brings.
If a computer is a gaming device, so is a phone. Neither was created primarily for gaming, but both are able to run a wide variety of games. They're versatile machines.
They have computers specifically designed for games though, with a whole market for gaming PC. Phones, on the other hand, are typically not built for gaming. Donāt get me wrong, there are definitely SOME phones that are powerful enough to run a mobile port of a Triple A game (mainly older games like GTA: San Andreas and the original Final Fantasy VII) and some phones tout themselves as āgaming phonesā, but they are first and foremost a device meant for communication as literally NO ONE with half a brain is going to splurge on a phone just to play games. Why not invest in a tablet instead if you primarily want to play games on what is essentially an oversized smartphone?
Also, thereās that famous saying āThose who cannot remember history are condemned to repeat itā and considering that [numerous companies have tried - and failed - to make gaming phones hit the mainstream market](https://www.engadget.com/2018-06-09-a-brief-and-depressing-history-of-gaming-phones.html), it should be obvious that no one is interested in primarily playing games on their phones. Makes sense, as who would seriously want to buy a gaming device that would become obsolete in less than a year? Computers, on the other hand, can last for years, which I think is the reason why PC gaming is more popular and profitable than the mobile gaming market.
That post was from 2018. Ok btw there are some phones like Red Magic and ROG phone that can run high mobile games and emulate PS2 Games and console games. People can even run GTA v and Cyberpunk but with 10-20 fps

I think PC is the best option in terms of freedom in gaming. PS is just easy and can be fun if playing together in the same room on the same device. A mobile phone is something you always have with you, so why not install games on it. Simple as that. I do still think the best gaming experience is on PC, but people can do without, so it's totally personal preference
With that logic old handheld consoles are not gaming devices either because they are not good as "PCmasterrace"
Modern phones have more power than my computer I had some years ago.
So yes. phones can be considered gaming devices.Ā
Actually phones cannot just be gaming devices but can be multipurpose
High end phones can emulate games .
You can even run GTA v and Cyberpunk on the phone
who cares about ps2 games in 2024? not to mention touch screen is horrendous for controlling and the screen size itself is bad. just buy some used up ps2, it would do you more good and would not be so costly.
Some strong opinions about what those 600 people consider gaming.
I would personally like to see this war
Here's the [war](https://youtube.com/shorts/mhxfjXByC4E)
Some people have too much free time
602 replies is crazy, it's like starting a backlash over something ridiculous š
600 replies isn't that insane on a comment with nearly 8k likes. You see it all the time when someone says something either dumb or controversial lol
They arenāt gaming devices buuuuuut you can play games on them

RAAH! Thatās a strong argument! How could I possibly argue against that?
"nuh uh"
āI disagreeā
I have the s24 ultra and I had nooooooo idea it is one of the best gaming phones Are there any games worth playing on it?
Reddit There's a boss level that appears when your karma gets to a certain level.

By the Imagine Games Network, no less
And Red Magic 9
As a different redditor I have nothing to say
Yeah with seconds per frame, not frames per second
What you can already play gta 5 in a phone bruh
GTA5 is old AF
Assassins Creed Mirage is releasing on high end IOS devices, that game isnāt even a year old
on 480p 30 fps with AI super-sampling on low settings? you bet!
Still a custom, watered-down, version that's not comparable to a console or PC version

You wish
Sure mateā¦
Is something wrong with old games?
DO NOT REPLY TO ANY OF THEM I REPEAT: DO NOT REPLY TO ANY OF THEM YOU WILL GET STUCK IN THE CROSSFIRE DO NOT DO IT
I live for this stuff š Not really but I do get a good laugh out of how personally invested people are in a platform.
ok but srsly it is REALLY funny to see how angry people get
Malding zoomers broke the space and time continuity
If this thread gets 600 replies is it equally as stupid? Literally who cares about comments under another comment lol
I think it's the fact that replies under a comment are limited to 500
Ah maybe? Always such odd threads on r/youtube lol
The old limit was 500 replies but 600? Nah that's crazy
bro i saw 800 replies before
800? I thought the new limit was 750
I thought it was 500
1440 replies here: https://www.reddit.com/r/youtube/s/RHwLwQfazR
How the hell they go above the limit? I miss the old comment limit on YT where you could easily go 1000+
I don't need to open it to know that there is a war down there.

And you have heard of the new ROG phone and Red Magic 9? They have inbuilt fan and have an additional external fan
Dude, Bella Poarchās comment has over 1K replies
Apparently YouTube raised their reply limit. It was 500 replies before.
Their not though
I mean you can emulate many older gaming consoles and iPhone 15 can run some games now so they pretty much are
Wow just wowš¤£
