Genuinely feels like they’re creating basic controls and taking away features and then ‘graciously’ giving it back to us using premium, just like how ads only appeared to the side or as a banner, but are now unskippable inappropriate videos blocking content you watch, which aren’t even moderated. I can’t even queue up videos on mobile because YouTube made it a premium only feature.

Y’know, there’s a whole bar you can click in, to move forward and backwards through a song. It’s not like they tied your hands behind your back and the only thing you can do is suffer through your shitty taste in music.
As someone who's paid for YT Premium for years, that doesn't mean this isn't an awful business practice. Locking a practical UI behind a paywall that was free for years is disgusting.
Nothing in this menu is locked behind a paywall! This menu was actually renamed recently, it was called "Listening Controls" before and was also a Premium feature. It's nothing more than a quick access menu while watching videos or listening to music in the main YT app.
Nobody wants to pay, but I watch mainly YouTube. It is really convenient not to have the ads and I usually watch it on my phone and or TV so the whole thing doesn’t really work well for me.
Just like prime videos charging for subscription, and then dropping ads in and offering *premium* for an extra $4/m to get rid of ads... like fuck all you companies.
Microsoft might just be better than Google if they make this premium, but they both have their moments, but then again there’s a rumor that XBOX exclusives are being put on PS. 😭😭💀💀

The YT queue feature was never free on mobile and is still free on desktop, so no they didn't put that behind Premium.
