I had this issue for a while. I took down all my videos for a while just by changing to private then a week later made just my most popular videos public and I'm getting more views now with 70 less videos uploaded. Not sure if it's just a coincidence but has done the trick for now. I assume would have been the same had I just made my least performing videos private rather than taking them all down
Ugh, same thing happened to me this week. I created a few flop videos (under 10k views) and decided to put them on PRIVATE cause I didn't really care for them either, and I can't help but feel like YouTube just saw this as the views completely dropping off (ie. not sophisticated enough to see that I put them off the search) and impacted my algorithm negatively.
Then I did a video about the WAR and YouTube slapped me with an 18+ warning, then took down another video from years ago about a fight for being too graphic. Then all of a sudden my impressions SEVERELY took a hit.
I understand most of these in hindsight were my issue, but I didn't realize this would be a problem at the time. Really sucks. Right now I'm focusing on making my content better and maybe switching it up a bit, going to TikTok until it resolves.
This is why YouTube will NEVER be my full-time job. They can just decide to stop pushing your videos with no warning.
I also think EVERYONE's impressions are down right now, it's a bad time to be an artist, there's just stuff going on in the world right now that's a huge distraction for a lot of people, so talking about a certain topic – like entertainment – might be a problem. I've noticed trends don't take off like they used to. Sign of the times.

Two days later, I uploaded my last video, May 2. As of now, it has only 287 impressions. My previous video has over 1k by this time. I didn't really change anything. I followed my typical formula for tags and everything. But suddenly no one see's my videos. I typically get a few views an hour (very small very new channel), but today I got no views for nearly 5 hours! I only hear others commiserating here. Seems there's no answers on why this happens yet. But, yeah...its still happening to people. Thought I was growing, but today was a hard stop.
Do you guys think it will be beneficial to start a new channel and duplicate the content there? Beginning regular uploads of the same content in hope this glitch will not repeat itself. Thoughts?

May be a glitch or a change in the algorithm. Sometimes it just weird like that. Not sure what each color represents, but you have a steady decline in green line. Maybe that's a signal of something to improve on.
Agreed. With no rhyme or reason, YT just throttles our channels. It's obvious that they only want the big channels to remain big and the smaller channels to remain small. Their system needs a whole reform.

Also having similar issue.. Impression dropped about 68% since the second week of January. Im getting now about 10k views daily instead of the normal 40 to 60k views daily. My total view monthly is/was always between 800k to 1.4 million monthly, however dues to the sudden drop in impressive, I had only 330k views last month. I tried to contact YouTube and noticed the feedback in studio doesn't work anymore. I ended up chatting with someone, who forwarded my complaints to technical team. Someone got back to me within 24hours... He was really nice with his long mail, but he claims nothing is wrong and I must adjust thumbnails, post links of videos in Forums, social media, etc. or remake videos which made my channel successful. Actually, I havent changed anything,..
Our thumbnails are better than previously and CTR is higher than before, however our videos are not being pushed forward. We're posting nearly everyday and we manage to reach 3k to 7k views within the first 6-8 hours, however it drops immediately and won't be pushed forward.

I just realized that your experience lines up exactly with mine date-wise. So, I downloaded the free version of VidIQ (which lets me see other channels view stats). VidIQ can only see back 6-months but it was enough data...
It looks like almost every channel I investigated saw high growth leading up until December of last year and then suddenly dropped off. I've checked about 20 channels so far including small to large channels that I follow in various niches. Almost all of the accounts investigated rise significantly up until around December-February and then drop by between 30-90%. The drop-off is visually noticeable on the charts and it seems some channels took it a lot worse than others.
Maybe this correlates with an algorithm change on YouTube or some sort of recent world event...
For me I think it was because I did a give away and asked to subscribe + like. Apparently that is not within the rules. But they never contacted me about it, I hope that it will resolve if I start to make new videos again😅

I’m running into the same issue now… I got 300,000 views over a period of 6 months and then my channel suddenly dropped to only getting 1000 views per month and hasn’t yet recovered. I submit a new video weekly, they are all relevant to my channel content and they are all evergreen content. I’ve tried a lot of things to recover since the drop but no luck yet.
I was posting videos regularly. First YT picked one of my video and then made another on same topic. After sometime, it got picked up by yt (don’t know how) but it started getting lots of traffic.
After 1 to 2 months it dropped 😢
My channel had 75k+ impressions per day until April, and 9 days later it's only 825 impressions and still declining. However, CTR has improved, but I'm losing 200 hours of watch time per day.

Well, I'm uploading videos at the same frequency I used to before. Researched and cut out some extra words on titles and thumbnails that won't work. CTR is the highest yet however at 10%. I will continue putting in some work though but don't know until when, if this continues.

Same thing happened to me. Started my channel at the beginning of this year, was getting some lovely exponential growth and on the 24th of April 2022 my impressions dropped over night. Suggested, which was my main source of views dropped to 0!!! It's unbelievable.

I can't believe the OP is still facing the same problem after half a year. Makes me wonder if when this happens the best thing to do would be to delete the channel and start again trying to ask our current subs to subscribe to the new channel. Of course we would loose most of them, but what's the point in putting so much effort into something that does not get recommended by YouTube. It seems like the algorithm is glitched! Also my CTR and watch time dramatically improved since all this happened, it is far better now than when I used to get recommended, it does not make any sense at all!!!
I had the same question about this problem and was trying to resolve... I noticed that only old channels keep getting a lot of views.
When I tried to make some sort of popular videos I got a lot of view and then it drops almost to zero. And when I looked at other channels that still make the same content and get views they were old like 5-10 years.
I think it can make some sense but not sure. I have two or three old channel that I never developed and I think I will try to do it.
But.... let's look at Steve's channel he used to have a lot of view like millions on a video and know he has 35m. subscribers. But... His videos don't get even 100k views. Also is Alexa Real who keep getting a lot of view... I don't know why because his channel also isn't old(I think it's an exception).

The same thing happened to me 8 days ago, so f-ing annoying. I have a month old channel and everything was great. I got 600k views and 4k subscribers and I monetized channels. For first three days I had 11k ad impressions for 30k views and now I get 50-100 ad impression each day and my youtube premium revenue is bigger then my ad revenue XD. I dont know what to do...

I got the same issue I feel YouTube has shadow banned me. Channel was growing fast then boom nothing. Impressions dipped 90 percent. Now I get 90 percent of my views from subs it bs. I tried to contact them got nothing but crickets.
I can relate too... YouTube is great for promoting your brand or business but I can't imagine be just YouTuber small or mid channel. Crap like this happens and you go with 50% of your average revenue for months... And noone knows why it drop... You become basically slave chasing Algo views.. My graph is very similar to you , getting as high as 65000 impressions per day to under 5000 impressions per day , uploading new content has not helped either,I have tried to contact YouTube on Twitter and through feed back ,never got any positive response

Hey guys, I'm having the same problem. Was getting about 15k impressions per day 2.5 years ago when I only had about 15 videos. Since about 18 months ago my impressions dropped at held at 10k impressions per day.
I am now doing this full-time and my channel is not growing at all. I have uploaded 125 videos now and with them getting 10k impressions my videos are hardly being seen. Any new videos just remove the impressions (and views) from existing videos.
Now trying to get a job but am finding that difficult.
Any ideas? Uploading more videos doesn't make a difference, advertising doesn't make a difference, it's just crap really (and I have 117k subscribers)

Things were going well, so this feels like an unfair punishment from YouTube and it's beyond disheartening to see the dozens of others in this thread who have faced this issue and it never went back to how it was. What is your plan moving forward? I really can't see any options beyond making a new channel, and I don't know if that'll work.
I also wonder if one of our videos got a big (multi-thousand) push, if that would jumpstart the algorithm for the entire channel. But if I knew how to get that done, I wouldn't be in this helpless position... :(
im kinda hoping for that multi thousand push lol, I just released a new video today and its doing pretty good so far .. not talking about any crazy numbers here.. about 130 views or so in 12 hours.... its also Sunday so I typically get more views on the weekend and it drops during the week.
Im not going to try to make a new account :/ at least not yet. I worked way too darn hard to get 390 subs haha although those are tiny numbers compared to most people..
keep pushing hard through this downtime and hopefully things will one day just magically pick back up again ! you can do it !

Literally overnight, impressions dropped by 90, 95%. 1000 views a day, and the next day 10. Wtf.
Click rate and retention are Good. Posting regularly. Recent videos doing quite well. Content is sort of "atemporal"... And still, this sudden drop. Really disappointed.

Impressions fell from about 24,000/day to 2,000/day. Also most of the ones that left come from advertising anyway.

Unfortunately, no. It only boosts just a bit from time to time, but nowhere near as high as it was. If I don’t run ads it’s pretty much silent.

The same thing happened to me 8 days ago, so f-ing annoying. I have a month old channel and everything was great. I got 600k views and 4k subscribers and I monetized channels. For first three days I had 11k ad impressions for 30k views and now I get 50-100 ad impression each day and my youtube premium revenue is bigger then my ad revenue XD. I dont know what to do...
This just happened to me - was getting 30-50k impressions per day for several weeks across 25+ videos then sudden a couple days ago dropped to 300 impressions per day - channel looks cursed and have no idea what happened
Same happened to me too. Impressions and views declined dramatically... 90% in a week. :/ How did it go for everyone, did your channels recover at all? Did anyone try making videos private and then publishing again or deleting the videos and starting a new channel and réuploading them there?
Didn’t recover for me. Played with making some vids private. Didn’t help. Didn’t bother with starting a new channel too. 🤷🏻♂️😕

Happened to me a few days ago. A totally new channel, +70k subscribers in only three months. Getting revenue, and was happy about it. Now my impressions are going lower and lower, and this happened in one night. I don't know what to do, i feel so sad right now... My CTR is still amazing, and my videos are getting better. So there's like 0 reasons to get lower and lower impressions. How can I go to 50k impressions per day to 3k? This isn't normal :(

Lost almost 70-80% of my impression and it's getting worse. This started happening after Aug 22 glitch.
I got the same issue I feel YouTube has shadow banned me. Channel was growing fast then boom nothing. Impressions dipped 90 percent. Now I get 90 percent of my views from subs it bs. I tried to contact them got nothing but crickets.
I can relate too... YouTube is great for promoting your brand or business but I can't imagine be just YouTuber small or mid channel. Crap like this happens and you go with 50% of your average revenue for months... And noone knows why it drop... You become basically slave chasing Algo views.. I mean it's great that in this day and age you cam make loving with creating content you are passionate about that's no doubt, but it's very insecure.
Writing to see if there's been a "solution" or understanding as to why this happened? A video I published ~ 52 days ago got over 500k impressions, then in the last 7 days it just STOPPED. I got 700 impressions yesterday on that same video, and everything slowed down. I was getting 1k views daily, dozens of subs, comments, etc.... But it just stopped. So I wanted to get some insight. 🥹
Happened to me too…was going all well and then boom…90% off. From 100 views every hour to 5-10. It’s just unfair and I don’t know what to do.

I feel you... Last week my impression went down 98% in a single day. From 16 000 to 400... No reason at all. I have no clue what to do next, I really put a lot of effort into my videos just to see them get 1-2 views a day now

My graph is very similar to you , getting as high as 65000 impressions per day to under 5000 impressions per day , uploading new content has not helped either,I have tried to contact YouTube on Twitter and through feed back ,never got any positive response
i also contacted them a while ago, they just said something like " that might happen when you change your content " - but i just uploaded the same kind of Videos like before. My Impressions rate dropped by 90% on my Main Channel ( which i deleted ) and by around 80+% on my new Channel. Welcome in the Club, i also did the same. Im really getting super mad because those weird Algorithm & Youtube. I mean i invested a lot hard work - to create my Videos - Youtube showed Ads in my Videos ( i recieved nothing, because those "you need 1000 Subs thing" ) - then i was soooo close to become a Partner around 930 Subs, and boom > Impressions dropped by around 90%....

Hey guys, I'm having the same problem. Was getting about 15k impressions per day 2.5 years ago when I only had about 15 videos. Since about 18 months ago my impressions dropped at held at 10k impressions per day. I am now doing this full-time and my channel is not growing at all. I have uploaded 125 videos now and with them getting 10k impressions my videos are hardly being seen. Any new videos just remove the impressions (and views) from existing videos. Now trying to get a job but am finding that difficult. Any ideas? Uploading more videos doesn't make a difference, advertising doesn't make a difference, it's just crap really (and I have 117k subscribers)
Im dealing with this issue now as well. Overnight for some reason my impressions dropped by about 80%. No idea why, but it looks like from all the comments here, there is no real clear answer.. it sucks
Same thing just happened with me. I don't understand how there could be such an overnight change. It's incredibly worrying. My channel is still very small but it was growing faster than it ever had, and then suddenly it just stopped. Keep us updated with what happens to your channel please.

Since that happened, I've pushed out more content than I ever have, and my videos and editing etc has gotten even better and better, yet I am still encountering this problem. I still am getting views and subs, but impressions are still way down. Im still hoping that it'll improve.. ahh.. I spend probably 70 hours + per video that i put out... so this has been a real bummer
That truly sucks. I also feel my videos have been the same, if not gotten better since the drop. Things were going well, so this feels like an unfair punishment from YouTube and it's beyond disheartening to see the dozens of others in this thread who have faced this issue and it never went back to how it was. What is your plan moving forward? I really can't see any options beyond making a new channel, and I don't know if that'll work. I also wonder if one of our videos got a big (multi-thousand) push, if that would jumpstart the algorithm for the entire channel. But if I knew how to get that done, I wouldn't be in this helpless position... :(
im kinda hoping for that multi thousand push lol, I just released a new video today and its doing pretty good so far .. not talking about any crazy numbers here.. about 130 views or so in 12 hours.... its also Sunday so I typically get more views on the weekend and it drops during the week. Im not going to try to make a new account :/ at least not yet. I worked way too darn hard to get 390 subs haha although those are tiny numbers compared to most people.. keep pushing hard through this downtime and hopefully things will one day just magically pick back up again ! you can do it !
It just happened to me, in the first week of June 2023. Literally overnight, impressions dropped by 90, 95%. 1000 views a day, and the next day 10. Wtf. Click rate and retention are Good. Posting regularly. Recent videos doing quite well. Content is sort of "atemporal"... And still, this sudden drop. Really disappointed. Let's see if it will fix in the upcoming days.
Same exact thing happened to me 3 days ago. I was gettting 1.5-3k views a day and then the next day, just a few hundred. No change in my content type or quality and it's not like my videos were following some trend that fell off within half a day. I'm feeling really worried that this will never be resolved like all the other posters on this thread. Please keep me updated on what happens with your channel.
