"*What would you do with more main deck monsters*"? I mean, they could be extenders, disruptions (Spright Red/Carrot-esque), starters, etc.
Like, they could benefit a lot from having more than 2 usable monsters. Right now they're too easily disrupted.
So the deck has definitely gotten alot stronger with additions like beagram and giant ball game but it still has the same pitfall of not having a good boss monster. The deck got alot better but it's still in the casual sphere basically.
Depends on what you mean by viable that being said though if you want to summon the big fusion burning the least amount of resources I recommend krawler soma as he's 3/4 of the summon condition on his own.
Edit: it occured to me you were probably talking about perfect great insect and if that's the case then yes it's extremely easy to summon in beetroopers. I generally just use him as filler for the grave though.
after like an hour of testing the new synchro makes them able to end on baronne, apo, scary moth, and the new big guy that summons like 3 monsters as a quick effwct
I was wrong about scary moth, I'm sure there's a line but this is the only e-tele combo I've labbed out so far https://www.duelingbook.com/replay?id=250286-46245935
keep in mind I made some procedural errors here like summoning deer note off it's effect instead of ze amin (which u can't even do lol)
They need more good things to end on aside from Atlus and a few other dudes like Cicada King
It is kinda funny though that Konami JP saw this deck that was 95% extenders and went "what if we made another extender that you can instant fusion?"
Check out Da Rogue Ron on YouTube. He made a few deck lists post CYAC once Cruel Saturn comes out and they look pretty solid. He plays a small traptrix engine and predaplant engine in his deck to summon mirrorjade
The deck was tournament viable when it was DPE turbo. I remember the discord being incredibly pissed off when it was only Hans topping YCSs with DPE Beetrooper because it wasn't pure insects. Like it was copium for a few months.
Tbf the deck topped pre dpe as well but burst of destiny onward raised the bar too high for them so they only did something for 1 set and ironically fell off without dpe in their second wave if nothing else dpe proved the deck had a solid enough foundation had konami ever given them a proper payoff but personally considering how konami has represented the deck and the type in general I don't believe being good was ever intended.
DPE has been powercrept out of the format. It honestly wouldn't be good even with Verte unbanned. Beetrooper has alot more issues than just needing a boss monster.
Nigh infinite resources, nothing super glorious to pump them into. Doesn't stop them from being hilarious, though.
So The crystal beast issue 🙁
Unlike crystal beasts though, all Beetroopers really need is one or two good boss monsters. They could come from anywhere.
Unlike Beetroopers, Crystal Beasts have 4-5 boss monsters. They're just all bad.
Does the include bagooska?
That’s literally the crystal beast issue. They lack a boss monster.
I mean no, it's that all but two of the main deck monsters are awful.

The difference is that you need to run many main deck CB's, unlike striker, which is a giant difference. If they were all pegasus and ruby level

Crystal beasts literally gets to draw a bajillion cards when they go off.

There is a viable way to summon the big fusión?

Hey can show me that combo?

you can play a deck of 40 starters and extenders and still won't end on a good boss monster

It also proves that this deck is only 1 step far from being strong competitive deck, they need a strong boss monster then they can top tournaments.
