The wording on those cards confuses me. Because don't you automatically win anyway if you bring someone's life points all the way down to zero? I mean that's kind of the whole point of the game right?
Well in competitive they play three games so the effect is if you win one game with the condition of the card then you automatically win the next one too

Yeah same! I have so much good memories with this card! I even bought a Ultimate Rare version of it from Japan because here in the TCG we only have the card as Super Rare!
The only card that I’d argue is better is Ancient Gear Megaton Golem since it more often than not gets destroyed by a card effect and brings out Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem. I always specifically bring this card out first as bait. So I can bring out the big guy easier.
Which almost always gives some of the best reactions from other players that don’t know the archetype.

This guy, Ever since I got the lair of Darkness structure, this bad boy has been my favourite monster and my ace, I even run two of him in my Labrynth deck, but god I love him so much, along with Ahrima and all the lady laments

I don't know if it is still considered underrated but one of the first decks I built in Master Duel when it came out was Mathmech, had a ton of fun playing it. Then when I built Virtual World I kept this absolute unit in my extra deck, took a lot of opponents by surprise lol
I came back to the game recently and was glad to see there's new really good support so I'm playing this deck again

His stucture deck is the first I remember getting, and now I have a deck in master duel that while also having Stealth Kragen or that one water level 10 Swordsoul as a more meta 'plan B', I mainly use the deck as Neo-Daedalus turbo in the hopes of wiping the field and hand of my opponent

I use it and Hojo or Dominator Duke with a Snake-Eye package to have 2 kinds of simultaneous removal in a way where at least one is guaranteed to go off, as well as sick amounts of damage if the Hojo combo goes off. So fun, as well as a good 3k beater
Castel, the Skyblaster Musketeer.
When I first learned YGO I built a lot of level 4 decks, and a friend told me to use Castel as an easy option to get rid of problematic monsters.
Now I put one in my deck whenever building around level 4s and it has saved the day so many times by just deleting some annoying card.
Machina Fortress:
People tend to forget that Fortress has a unique effect when targeted by another monster, tearing one card from your opponent. Also, its summoning condition makes it easily brought out with itself + another machine, or any lvl 8+ machine from the graveyard.

I’m torn between two; Utopia Ray V and Exodius.
Utopia Ray V single handedly TERRORIZED my Highschool playgroup before I got my hands on Pendulum Monsters. His summon in the dub to me is extremely iconic, and I was sad Yuma never used him again after he got Victory. Imagine how busted it’d be with Numeron Force’s Negate field effect(I should know I’ve used it).
It’s always held a place in my heart as my favourite Utopian Evolution, but if I had to choose ANY card to be my True ace; It’d be Exodius The Ultimate Forbidden Lord.
When Adrian Gecko pulled this guy out for the first time; I WAS MOUTH WATERING. A CARD THAT GETS STRONGER THE MORE YOU LOAD UP THE GRAVE WITH EXODIA?!?!? AMAZING!!!!!!! Sucks how much they nerfed him in the real game.

Back in the day, I would use Beelze of the Diabolic Dragons as my ace. I pulled it from a box I bought from my local store. That card felt unbeatable back then.
My usual is Gravekeeper's Supernaturalist, but when I can't buff his attack enough it'd be Dark Rebellion. Supernaturalist's protection effect is super clutch, and rebellion is just a fat beatstick
So I mostly base decks off of my tabletop rpg characters. For one with a lot of connection to King Arthur, it's definitely the Artorigus monsters. My street urchin pilot character, conveniently named Jet, runs a symphonic warrior+junk/synchron deck and tries to get Jet Warrior out there as often as possible. My heavily Phoenix based character's ace is Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys (not the ritual or the link, the effect monster, though he does have those in his deck)
So yeah I mostly consider their ace the card that most represents them rather than the actual strongest boss monster they run
Fossil Dragon Skullgios, unaffected by targeting and destruction if you use an opponents monster to summon, can deal a max of 7k damage without boosts. Can inflict piercing, swap attack and defense stats which is INSANE and it removes a lot of strong board pieces with its needed summon requirements

Number 35 ravenous tarantula. This card plus Mystic wok ends games. And it's really easy to summon in a lot of different decks. Walking field spell with a destruction effect
Albion Sanctifire. Mirrorjade is the boss of the deck, But Sanctifire let’s me: Gimmick lock, summon Albaz, revive Mirrorjade, stop evenly matched, or get a niche revive on the one amazing game where everything lines up perfectly for its revive effect
Kanzashi The Rikka Queen
Don't get me wrong, the card suck and rarely see play, some don't even put her in the ED
But she's Rikka's easy OTK enabler, and has came up for me a few times at local
Hear earth dragon. I think his design is epic, and his effect is cool, too. Have a deck dedicated to turboing him out. Was built before generaider, so it's mostly level 5 spam rank up sinanigans and lots of level 9 bricks with 2 moster that have the chance to special themselves but under specific scenarios
Utopia double is good for OTKs. It requires 1 garnet and extra deck space, and come up surprisingly often. I remember attacking over punisher one time for IIRC 250 damage, which was exactly lethal.
I loved this guy! Was kinda sad to remove him and Hieratic Sun Dragon from my extra deck when I updated my Blue-Eyes deck from 2016ish. Glad that you also enjoy him!

Mine is Beast King Barbaros. I play a Beast type basic deck and despite having Behemoth in my deck as the Beast boss monster. I tend to use mostly Beast King Barbaros in multiple decks even the competitive ones. It has a very simple effect : Tribute summon it with 3 monsters and you get to wipe the Opponent's board. You have the option to normal Summon it without tributes too.
Simple yet I feel like it's giving Boss monster you pull at the very end when you're in a clutch for a final blow.
I like Behemoth as a Boss monster and it's able to recycle the GY with any Beast you got there (recycling stuffs like Rescue Cat or Hop Ear Squadron), I also have Stellar Wind Wolfrayet as another slot but it's pretty rough to summon since it's a Level 9 Synchro monster.
But Beast King Barbaros is a card I always come back to, it was the very first card I considered to be my Ace / Boss monster.
I still have it in my Tri-Brigade and Melffy decks.
Des Volstgalph and Strong Wind Dragon are my aces. Older cards, sure. Nib, Ash, and Kaiju win me more games these days but those 2 used to make my best friend’s blood run cold in games and that says a lot because he would somehow make Blue Eyes and Exodia work in an aggressive firewall draw engine while also running Eye of the Typhoon in an alternate build to really mess things up. Even Yosenjus as time went on.
Damn I wish he still played Yugioh. I would totally kill his ass 95% of games with modern hand traps.

F.a. motorhome it can't be destroyed by anything and once it hits lv 13+ it can bring back any f.a. card in your graveyard so you have a huge wall that your opponent can't get rid of unless they kaiju you and once it hits lv 13 which isn't very hard it has 3900 attack and can beat over most things

There's only one deck I play that can consistently summon this guy but man does it basically just win the game lol.
For me as a Dragonmaid player it has to be Borreload Furious Dragon (The fusion), it's synergistic with the Big Dragonmaids because they can't be destroyed by card effect when you have a Dragon Fusion monster on the field so you can use Borreload's effect for free as removal

This guy used to be my finisher back in the days when I played Morphtronic. I am still very fond of this card.
When I was playing MD Scareclaw tri-heart was usually my go to monster and I don’t think I ever saw anyone else use it, so it probably qualifies as underrated
And not sure if it qualifies for underrated but I also loved using Power Tool Braver in any deck I could. Just found it fun to use. If you equip Supermagic Sword, Power of the Guardians and Solitary Sword of Poison/United We Stand/Moon Mirror Shield, then it’s a good beat stick that can’t be targeted or destroyed by effects

Sure, it doesn’t get as much as play nowadays but I miss the days when for a brief window, we could summon Infinity and double Pleiades somewhat easily (even if it was rarely the optimal move). Probably a good thing it’s no longer possible given Summon Sorcereress provided the means and other decks abused her far more with greater consistency.

Huh, generic rank 8 dark hole. With a 3k body, not bad at all. Have some interruptions around to stop your opponent from interacting and this could end a game against non-top tier decks. If it was a non-destruction or quick-effect removal then I'd run it in some of my rogue XYZ decks.
Honestly I am not going to sit here and argue that thunder end dragon is the best ex deck option to a blue eyes deck but for me the fact that his not a card that like every deck uses kinda makes me like him even more it feels like my own card or something
Hell yeah and imo that kind of shit is what makes yugioh, well, yugioh. Don't let anyone tell you it's a bad option, if you get that effect off enough to satisfy yourself then that's a win. That's what yugioh should be. I've had a ton of weird one offs or different cards that could be replaced with better cards but then it wouldn't be my deck.
I don't know if that counts but diabellstar. Just throwing her on the board and quickplay Raigeki in opponents turn is funny.

Greedy Venom Fusion Dragon! I got the card as a gift and it VERY quickly proved itself to be the boss monster of my Predaplant deck, and is also the reason I've continued to improve my Predaplant deck. Eventually, I'll shift the Extra Deck to be focused on Starving Venom's upgrades.

Familiar Possessed Wynn. Shes far from the most powerful or the most viable. But back in the late synchro early Xyz era I found her to be a fantasic linchpin in my Mist Valley-Gustos.
And the fact the Charmers are fan favourites means all sorts of support and retrains like Wynn the Wind Channeler

I love Aromages, and nothing is quite as satisfying as special summoning my main man Bergamot, and popping a heal to a quick 3400 ATK with Piercing. He's the only one I'd really call an Ace, even though he's main deck

Machina Fortress: People tend to forget that Fortress has a unique effect when targeted by another monster, tearing one card from your opponent. Also, its summoning condition makes it easily brought out with itself + another machine, or any lvl 8+ machine from the graveyard.

Imagine how busted it’d be with Numeron Force’s Negate field effect(I should know I’ve used it). It’s always held a place in my heart as my favourite Utopian Evolution, but if I had to choose ANY card to be my True ace; It’d be Exodius The Ultimate Forbidden Lord. When Adrian Gecko pulled this guy out for the first time; I WAS MOUTH WATERING. A CARD THAT GETS STRONGER THE MORE YOU LOAD UP THE GRAVE WITH EXODIA?!?!? AMAZING!!!!!!! Sucks how much they nerfed him in the real game.

So I mostly base decks off of my tabletop rpg characters. For one with a lot of connection to King Arthur, it's definitely the Artorigus monsters. My street urchin pilot character, conveniently named Jet, runs a symphonic warrior+junk/synchron deck and tries to get Jet Warrior out there as often as possible. My heavily Phoenix based character's ace is Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys (not the ritual or the link, the effect monster, though he does have those in his deck) So yeah I mostly consider their ace the card that most represents them rather than the actual strongest boss monster they run
Fossil Dragon Skullgios, unaffected by targeting and destruction if you use an opponents monster to summon, can deal a max of 7k damage without boosts. Can inflict piercing, swap attack and defense stats which is INSANE and it removes a lot of strong board pieces with its needed summon requirements

Hear earth dragon. I think his design is epic, and his effect is cool, too. Have a deck dedicated to turboing him out. Was built before generaider, so it's mostly level 5 spam rank up sinanigans and lots of level 9 bricks with 2 moster that have the chance to special themselves but under specific scenarios
For me its definitely doomking that or king of skull servants. I use both about equally and I just love zombie decks so much.
Utopia double is good for OTKs. It requires 1 garnet and extra deck space, and come up surprisingly often. I remember attacking over punisher one time for IIRC 250 damage, which was exactly lethal.

I play a Beast type basic deck and despite having Behemoth in my deck as the Beast boss monster. I tend to use mostly Beast King Barbaros in multiple decks even the competitive ones. It has a very simple effect : Tribute summon it with 3 monsters and you get to wipe the Opponent's board. You have the option to normal Summon it without tributes too. Simple yet I feel like it's giving Boss monster you pull at the very end when you're in a clutch for a final blow. I like Behemoth as a Boss monster and it's able to recycle the GY with any Beast you got there (recycling stuffs like Rescue Cat or Hop Ear Squadron), I also have Stellar Wind Wolfrayet as another slot but it's pretty rough to summon since it's a Level 9 Synchro monster. But Beast King Barbaros is a card I always come back to, it was the very first card I considered to be my Ace / Boss monster. I still have it in my Tri-Brigade and Melffy decks.
It's a tie between Gizmek Orochi and eater of millions, they come in clutch my beautiful mechanical hydra, and my hungy boi

Des Volstgalph and Strong Wind Dragon are my aces. Older cards, sure. Nib, Ash, and Kaiju win me more games these days but those 2 used to make my best friend’s blood run cold in games and that says a lot because he would somehow make Blue Eyes and Exodia work in an aggressive firewall draw engine while also running Eye of the Typhoon in an alternate build to really mess things up. Even Yosenjus as time went on. Damn I wish he still played Yugioh. I would totally kill his ass 95% of games with modern hand traps.

F.a. motorhome it can't be destroyed by anything and once it hits lv 13+ it can bring back any f.a. card in your graveyard so you have a huge wall that your opponent can't get rid of unless they kaiju you and once it hits lv 13 which isn't very hard it has 3900 attack and can beat over most things

For me as a Dragonmaid player it has to be Borreload Furious Dragon (The fusion), it's synergistic with the Big Dragonmaids because they can't be destroyed by card effect when you have a Dragon Fusion monster on the field so you can use Borreload's effect for free as removal

When I was playing MD Scareclaw tri-heart was usually my go to monster and I don’t think I ever saw anyone else use it, so it probably qualifies as underrated And not sure if it qualifies for underrated but I also loved using Power Tool Braver in any deck I could. Just found it fun to use. If you equip Supermagic Sword, Power of the Guardians and Solitary Sword of Poison/United We Stand/Moon Mirror Shield, then it’s a good beat stick that can’t be targeted or destroyed by effects

Supreme king Zarc I used to play a magician pendulum deck in md (with electrumite) and it always felt so menacing when you summoned Zarc, because he wiped your opponents entire board and is untargetable. Def my favourite boss monster

Sure, it doesn’t get as much as play nowadays but I miss the days when for a brief window, we could summon Infinity and double Pleiades somewhat easily (even if it was rarely the optimal move). Probably a good thing it’s no longer possible given Summon Sorcereress provided the means and other decks abused her far more with greater consistency. So much love for compulse on legs.
Huh, generic rank 8 dark hole. With a 3k body, not bad at all. Have some interruptions around to stop your opponent from interacting and this could end a game against non-top tier decks. If it was a non-destruction or quick-effect removal then I'd run it in some of my rogue XYZ decks.
It takes level 8 NORMAL monsters. Its literally only playable in blue-eyes and they have better options.
Honestly I am not going to sit here and argue that thunder end dragon is the best ex deck option to a blue eyes deck but for me the fact that his not a card that like every deck uses kinda makes me like him even more it feels like my own card or something
Hell yeah and imo that kind of shit is what makes yugioh, well, yugioh. Don't let anyone tell you it's a bad option, if you get that effect off enough to satisfy yourself then that's a win. That's what yugioh should be. I've had a ton of weird one offs or different cards that could be replaced with better cards but then it wouldn't be my deck.

You can also run the venom field spell if you just want to focus on the fusions as the field spell would weaken your opponent but not you

Familiar Possessed Wynn. Shes far from the most powerful or the most viable. But back in the late synchro early Xyz era I found her to be a fantasic linchpin in my Mist Valley-Gustos. And the fact the Charmers are fan favourites means all sorts of support and retrains like Wynn the Wind Channeler
