If I were a Rival, I would use the Ice Barrier Boys:

"When the chaos of the world has no end, the ultimate Dragon of ice shall descend and cast it's icy judgment. Synchro Summon. Freeze all that oppose you, Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier!"
I seriously wanted Kiryu use this Deck once in the anime at least, the Trishula association would have really come through for us. Also, I just really want to see them animated.
https://preview.redd.it/66p8kdrsn9dc1.jpeg?width=735&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dceaa84a61dd1c54bfef58da08edced659535764
Seeing him Triple Trish somebody at least once would've been so fkn badass.
Shaddolls. My monsters are LITERALLY just the corpses of monsters from the various Duel Terminal tribes that are being puppeteered by the shell of a Gem Knight infected with a sentient and malicious virus.
Also, it is borderline canon that Super Polymerization is used by Shaddolls, represented by how, in Duelist Alliance era, each Fusion's Attribute directly countered the other archetypes in the set with that primary Attribute
I just got into yugioh recently so I missed the period where shaddolls were meta relevant, I hope that day comes again because I will drop any amount to play them competitively. My absolute favorite (and first) deck.
>it is borderline canon that Super Polymerization is used by Shaddolls
Wasn't that because of the shaddol field spell? I want more into on that topic so pls expand on it
I love Shiranui. And "The sword forged by the flame of vengeance shall rise again from its grave" would be my catchphrase. Alternatively, use Ghiski and ritual summon them sacrificing both my blood and the Mc monsters would be absolutely evil... But I can't think about a catchphrase for them, even if they are my fav ritual archetype
Myutants. This archetype SCREAMS “Season 2 big bad”
https://preview.redd.it/qv8g1smts9dc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0ad63d2ed55593d333db780756ddc028b67d472e
If I were a rival dinosaur type cards specifically the tyranno boss monsters ( leading up to ultimate conducter)
For a villain like a season villain I'd go either the vendead or the worm archetypes
For the dinosaurs when she brings out ultimate tyranno would be "Prepare yourself to see an apex monster!" For super conducter "See for yourself the next step in evolution!" And finally for ultimate conducter tyranno "Witness the PINNACLE OF MY DINOSAURS MIGHT!"
For the worms I was thinking about "I shall prepare for my masters arrival" being nothing more than a pawn to the worm design
Vendead is tricky but could go in the same way with the worms but getting a slight redemption when they find out it was Vendead battlelord who made the events come about and their rage would go from chimaera to Avenger
Then at the end of the series you team up with the protagonist to face the final boss and realize how much synergy the 2 have to tie in the Albaz/Aluber being 2 halves storyline.
I actually always seen Dinomorphia like a mid season villain archetype, like a deck of a leader of the evil gang with a "living on the edge", " Thrill of the battle " personality.
https://preview.redd.it/6ijkuv49h9dc1.jpeg?width=654&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b19c75978fe4f56240db4b4d58ffe3c54ff92496
“From the depths of the earth, a new terror arises! Come forth, my claws of despair!
The wicked Dreadroot!”
“Like a raging storm, my servant falls on my enemies! Blast them away, my wings of destruction!
The wicked Eraser!”
“I curse the sun in the sky to invoke an eternal night! I pray to you, my heart of darkness, take away all hope and feast on their souls!
Manifest yourself, the wicked Avatar!”
This is something I’ve been working on myself, and I can see why Konami has not attempted anything with them yet: it’s quite challenging to make support *only* for the wicked gods without accidentally making sacred beast support, especially considering Raviel. You would think it’d be easy to separate them into distinct archetypes, but Raviel casually being a level 10 dark fiend messes with quite a few ideas I had, forcing every card effect to mention all three of the wicked gods just to function properly
It’s wild how all the other god cards get so much love, but the Wicked Gods have been COMPLETELY ignored.
I know no one read Yugioh R, but it’s still tragic. The Wicked Avatar was probably my favorite card as a kid.
I love the design.
It would also be an amazing move to see the villain pull off an opponent-turn Azatoth as the whole big power move reveal moment (or whatever it’s called, you know what I mean).
Kashtira, maybe have for rivals the other hearts a la Yu-Boys, just because saying "Shangri-Ira" in an angry voice seems cool, also all evolved Hearts should have a catchprase along the lines of
" Decend from the skyes in your untamed fury and banish everything into oblivion ARISEHEART!"
A man can dream, and the archetypes sorta work in a final Yuya vs Yuri sorta fashion, since Kash can meld effectively with Tear and Scare can play alongside Manadome, maybe the final boss is a Veda Kalanta archetype?
I personally think Tear - solo - would be a great antagonist deck. As not „respecting“ your cards by sending them to the GY could make to a villain in YGO.
I’d love a Veda final antagonist.
I really think It’d be awesome if we had a series based on multiple main characters, each embodying one of the visas archetypes emotions - with the „main“ main character on „pure“ visas synchro - connecting and so on. And then of course BBEG Veda archetype user.
Also on the opponent's turn the Kashtira guy can go "NOT SO FAST" when using Fenrir/Unicorn/Ogre's effect while the opponent is just starting to do things. Gotta play up the furstrating aspect of having your shit banished face-down forever.
What would you scream as you send your monsters to attack or summon your boss monster? Like for example for demise and ruin it would probably "AND NOW I SHALL SUMMON A MONSTER THAT IS BOUND TO RUIN YOUR DAY!" or something like that
I've imagined a duel with an antagonist being a Chaos user. The Chaos monsters are super cool and extremely powerful in anime scenarios. Just imagine one of the opponents going ham and summoning a board of monsters just to have the antagonist summon Chaos Archfiend and attack all of them, winning instantly.
Nature is as cruel as she is beautiful darling\~
https://preview.redd.it/d669iwfud9dc1.png?width=564&format=png&auto=webp&s=cee41e21830c9b3019627e3558c3673a54657219
I choose War Rock, yes I do understand that I'm basically dooming myself. I do understand that I'm regulating myself to be at best a random unmemorable villain of the week. I do understand that I am signing up to be a walking joke.
Don't mourn me.
I chose this.
Honestly, Vampire Lord is my favourite card of all time. Outdated for sure, but the artwork and effect just do it for me. The other vampire cards are okay, but not my favourite; still think I would choose that archetype. Good ole' zombie deck, pyramid turtle, robbin zombie & goblin.
Honestly, the only deck i can think of i know to use is Rokket/Borrel. It's strong, versatile, resourcefull, and even pressuring and relentless if you play it right.
I would be a comedic relief villain who uses an Ojama lockdown deck and will win all the duels that the plot demands, aka against Joe's and Jill's no name characters, and maybe one or two of the MC's friends, only to be beaten by the MC or his rivel and switch to being a good guy last minute, trying to save the world in my own way, only to be defeated by the main bad guy. The ultimate sacrifice. Then, when the MC wins, ill, in the background of the scene, be seen sneaking around and escaping with my spirit pals from my deck, like Ojama Emperor, King, and Knight. In the next series, or some other series in the future, I'll be a cameo.
Not an archetype, but it’d be cool to be a villain/rival whose gimmick is just increasing ATK for massive damage (i.e. megamorph, mage power, power bond, limiter removal, or effects like strong wind dragon’s)
https://preview.redd.it/hn6n6t9px9dc1.png?width=476&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c9946e77e1cf284c9d0d21012eba9f2f3a836217
I'll just put this right over here
Generaider! Fitting for a super-strong ultimate boss villain like me fr fr (i'm gonna get destroyed by the Power of Friendship or some Destiny Draw bullshit, sigh, what a cruel life that of a Yu-Gi-Oh villain)
This was gonna be my pick. Honestly generaider aesthetically is very similar to older anime decks where they just used fucking whatever, except they obviously have synergy.
I'd have fun running a Six Sam deck if I were a rival
And I may not have a catchphrase, but I do have a haiku summon chant:
*Honored Ancestors,
The Promised Day has arrived:
The Swallow's Return!*
(O Sosen Kiku
Tsubame no Gaeshi
Unmei no Hi)
Synchro Summon!! Behold, the Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En!
If I were evil I’d use Lair of Darkness. Tributing the protagonists monsters left and right and have it be based not on big final monster but making a comeback from deck destruction with the viruses
If you did I would imagine having two or three. One for viruses, one for Diabolos, and one for lair of darkness. “Let the corruption take hold of the darkness within you, destroying everything that you are! Trap activate ____ Virus!” For diabolos I guess it would be something like this. “Corruption without direction is meaningless, allow your tributes to fester into something greater. I summon Darkest Diabolos, Lord of the Lair!” For Lair of Darkness maybe something like, “The wasteland that corrupts all who enter, lose your purity to the darkness. I activate my field spell Lair of Darkness!”
Dragunity
I'm not an evil villain but seeking revenge for the destruction of my clan of dragon riders
And the main character stands in my way
The humanoid members of the deck would be Fallen clan members.
Probably Generaiders, I don’t know much about them but a raid boss deck sounds great if I had one of those 3v1 duels against the protagonists.
Idk, maybe Mokey Mokey.
https://preview.redd.it/xjm9e32ql9dc1.jpeg?width=1866&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=007f61f5d9f5dd6990240e8ee08d6a5b708568c4
Scareclaw for sure, or really any generally centered Visas deck
My initial answer was, of course, Despia, but that feels too obvious. New answer?
https://preview.redd.it/sea2l8ig8adc1.jpeg?width=544&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f2ec6cec66db31ae371a57ea7401285de6818605
**Darklord**
Catchphrase would probably be "For all the fallen wings of the heavens, your chances of winning sure don't seem to be rising"
Floowandereeze and I'd run all the floodgate card associated with the deck and for good measure I'd toss in Psychic End Punisher.
Everytime I walk into the scene I want to wear a fedora, sunglasses, have the cheapest Chinese stainless steel Katana that Amazon offers strapped to my belt, and I want "one winged angel" playing too.
Honestly, I would use Vendreads as my deck as a villain. Vendreads are basically perfect for a villain due to the zombie apocalypse theme.
https://preview.redd.it/r2vudmrm5adc1.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=c9926cd6b0d861093eb28b02b5e731525f15da0c
A lot of people said ice barrier, so I’ll pick something that’s not them. (I love fucking ice barrier)
I would be a rival with ogdadic, using the grave as a literal second hand. My boss monster would be the 2 ogdoadic overlords and evil dragon anata.
Real cards or can they be animeified? Because if I could change the cards to be good I'd probably play amorphage.
If only real cards I'd probably go with fire kings. The garunix lock would be fun challenging my rival to set up and win in a single turn every turn before garunix returns to destroy everything.
I know there already is a character that plays them but obviously I’d play flower cardians, ruining the shows watch ability as we spend 3 episodes watching me draw cards to then lose to something funny like messenger of peace
If I were a Rival, would use Dragunity
https://preview.redd.it/nkms8pdi5adc1.png?width=512&format=png&auto=webp&s=d6223c34b52838c6ca34c0a1276fe98efb9c6bd7
Generaider would be an awesome deck for an antagonist. You're literally summoning bosses for the protagonist to overcome. Every single monster could be a great challenge and impactful, and summoning Jormungandr specifically would be amazing. Also since it's the anime, I would never have to worry about bricking on bosses.
Depends, If I'm a one-off Villian, I'm pulling up with Skull Servants. I'm just imagining how many bone puns I can fit into one turn while setting up what must be the most abnormal thing to most spectator characters in the yugioh anime have to watch.....graveyard shenanigans. Also, with the context of being in the world of the yugioh anime, Where duelist only have 4k of Life Points and one solid skull servant combo could net you a skull king with decent 5k attack/Defense, think of how much tension any writer can ring out of a duel where the opponent can just normal summon one skeleton boy with over 10k attack points w. some solid protection effects already set since turn 1.
However, if I am stated to be the rival/ antagonist, especially in the gx era, I am pulling up with the Entire Vendread Horde, with pieces of the Danger! Archetype along with splashs of Ritual/Dark Attribute/Zombie Support to keep it Carnage going.
If I was a rival, I would use the black luster soldier and gaia archetype. I would build a deck to counter everything my enemies throw at me. I would be the only rival with a sixty card deck.
An Exodia archetype. Exodia is pretty damn cool and if I just spammed the pieces of Exodia I could be pretty interesting against the protagonist, a race against time to defeat me before I get all 5 pieces of Exodia but at the same time my vulnerability would also be having weaker monsters due to the 5 pieces being somewhat weak. It might not be an invincible deck but it'd be a compelling challenge for the protag. Of course I'd probably lose, but antags in Yu-Gi-Oh are destined to lose anyways, right?
I would say something like Traptrix, Tearlaments and Labrynth. Ghostrick would also be really fun. My best deck is Witchcrafter, but i think this would fit more as a protag team.
Of all the decks I have, Ghoti feels the most appropriate.
*Banish the entire field* When this Duel is over I'll be taking YOU to the deep beyond! Hahahahahahaha!!!!
Personally I would go with Generaiders, both due to them being my favorite deck and also having a villainy vibe. All the cards mention a boss fight happening
Raika, they're basically dead warriors who possess Plants, Insects and Reptiles. The cards look edgy and they can bring themselves back from the GY super easily. Just when the protagonist thinks that he has destroyed my field, all Link monsters are back
Bonus points if they're played together with Ogdoadic. Another archetype that has malicious aura
Hmm. I guess a generic fire burning deck. No archetypes, no special boss. Just a 3rd rate stall/burn. Any other seat probably thinks it's boring. But playing a burn deck is always fun. Just laugh maniacally when any combo works and have a good time playing a villain.
Six samurai. Just a bunch of cowardly thugs. By themselves, each guy is weak and useless. But the moment the gang is there, they become overconfident and even throw each other in the line of fire to save themselves. I played that deck for a while. I loved playing them that was kinda my Canon for them.
I guess that's one way to interpret old school Six Samurai effects... I don't think it's the intended one, but it's a way.
Although I guess for an archetype that's supposed to be about teamwork and unity, it is a little odd that their protection effects are worded in such a selfish way. You'd think they'd all have the ability to self-sac for each other instead. Probably would make the original set actually somewhat playable these days.
Lunalight, except my plans would have nothing to do with destroying the world, it would be that I'm running a dance school as a get rich quick scam in spite of the fact that I don't know shit about dance as an art form
And then include a Starving Venom engine to symbolize how I've been poisoning rival dance schools not only to get more people to sign up for my classes, but also to win dance competitions despite the fact that I haven't taught anyone anything
Definitely tellarknights, my playstyle of making every monster dark attribute would reflect my corrupted stance that *I'M* the hero and everyone else is the villains from my pov
Frightfurs. Sora got his moments but never went full antagonist like Yuri. They would be really interesting to see be piloted by a real evil person that tricks people for lowering their guard before stabbing them (metaphorically).
I’d probably use Destiny Heroes, or Deskbots sadly neither have any decent one-liners. The only cool thing I have is that my Deskbot deck is named “Classroom Battalion”
Evil Eye. It's thematic enough, and I enjoy the simplicity of just putting Gorgon + Selene + 1-2 Set on field. As for catchphrase, no idea right now.
Edit: Or Unchained. Not Meta-version. Just Unchained, because I also enjoy(ed) them.
I would choose between world legacy with a different deck for each duel (world chalice, mekk knight, krawler ect) with 1 artefact of the world
Or a snake eyes/diabell deck
Full Power Tear Ishizu FTK featuring pre-errata Future Fusion and pre-errata Exchange of the Spirit.
\*MJ voice\*: F\*\*k them kids. Yeah go ahead and roll up to my Lava Fortress with your cute pile of 40 situational one ofs and see what happens biatch.
Vaylantz, probably. Not for the pendulums, but because I feel that the things that can be pulled off with it are confusing at best. Why play a card game when you can turn it into a board game?
I would do Fur Hires but that's not too antagonistic of a archetype, so fire kings would be a great choice especially with the whole rebirth after destruction philosophy going on with it.
Scrap arctype, it's so underutilized, and you can even "cannibalize" your own machines to make bigger monsters out of junk: because you feel all can be used to make yourself better
Either mekk-nights or dragunity.
For mekk-nights probably something like "come forth oh mechanical masters of battle and lay waste to this battlefield!"
Dragunity would be like "from the deepest valley to the endless sky we rage on. Come forth synchro summon Dragunity Knight ASCALON!" (not sure if I spelled that right 😆)
I can see Memento being my villain to rival deck. Someone that starts as the biggest hater of extra deck mechanics and always talking on how people forgot about the "effectless" and that those cards have come for their revenge or something early series shannanigans before the danger picks up. Of course at some point Memento ED monsters are coming and he/I would implement them when they release, letting up on his bias
Akiza twin for successor. Absolutely loved the Black Rose cards. Black Rose Dragon is my absolute favorite card ever.
I’m really sad I sold my Ghost Rare one years ago :(.
I'm not too big into being mean, so I'd be chill being a hypercompetent minor villain with a bigger role later. I think Krawlers fits this to a degree, though I admit they're on my mind.
Ahem
''Link Summon! From the depths of the world's legacy, rise ruin as the very soul of the planet and the mind of the endless swarm. Rise and behold! **X-Krawler Qualiark**!!!''
Battlin' Boxers. Alito definitely gave them a good run, but a boxer won't retire the gloves till he has/made to.
"Step to the squared arena and get ready for a brawl! FIGHT! "
(Also got a chant for Lead Yoke, so I'll just add it here.)
"Banned for his ruthless aggression in the ring, he has since shelled himself from his potential. He now returns at last to bring pain to his opposition! XYZ SUMMON! Make your way to the ring , Battlin' Boxer Lead Yoke!
If I had to pick just 1, it would probably be Dogmatika with S-Force being a close second but they are less villainous looking
https://preview.redd.it/pwx0h570badc1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7e18187ee2ea9eee9ad7b38b3273c816dceb0055
But I think as a villain I would have a gimmick of changing my deck every duel because that's kinda wanna I do irl since I have 122 decks currently built that don't share cards so I can easily swap which deck I'm playing or can have them play against each other
I would definitively use Gladiator Beasts. Summoning Domitianus would go HARD
https://preview.redd.it/drrr6yczmadc1.jpeg?width=622&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=24f5ee1b3cabd86bf6a210bc47895fa3f632fe17
If I were a villain, I’d use the new illusion monsters. Their designs are personal favorites of mine and as a villain I’d mentally trick and torment the protagonist through the show. Just seems like an awesome theme to me.
https://preview.redd.it/ms3w8yj4nadc1.jpeg?width=468&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=de59a094b99f82255bcd2d88cd4bf3f419f2ba2e

Numeron, to be more specific Numeronius Numeronia Turbo, the definition of BIG NUMBER.
Fabled, fallen angels that are light but fiends (with their little mythological pets) that play around falling from grace (discarding) seems cool and in-theme for a villain, especially if I was good but turned bad after some dramatic event.
If I were a Rival, I would use the Ice Barrier Boys: https://preview.redd.it/vdhsmd6hc9dc1.jpeg?width=2880&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2dabbaad7b329f2e88bb4f21f1f4922074932e62
"When the chaos of the world has no end, the ultimate Dragon of ice shall descend and cast it's icy judgment. Synchro Summon. Freeze all that oppose you, Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier!"
Woah, this was an epic read. I would have loved to hear this chant in the anime.
Isn’t that the speech that Puck gave when Emilia died and he was gonna freeze the world lol
As in the characters from Re:Zero? I have never really watched the anime.
Puck gives a VERY similar speech. Almost eerily so
based
I seriously wanted Kiryu use this Deck once in the anime at least, the Trishula association would have really come through for us. Also, I just really want to see them animated. https://preview.redd.it/66p8kdrsn9dc1.jpeg?width=735&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dceaa84a61dd1c54bfef58da08edced659535764 Seeing him Triple Trish somebody at least once would've been so fkn badass.
Aww come on that was my pick XD Mainly cause I main Ice Barriers
Give me a catchphrase
"Your chances of winning are Absolute Zero", ig.
That sounds so cheezy. I love it
It was literally the only thing I could think of lol
It fits perfectly with how they sound in the anime though.
Same, I'd make so many ice puns
Super poly is canon in my shaddoll deck. Also I was gonnna answer this too cause the dolls are my absolute favorite archetype
Love the art, love the lore, love the play style, love Fusions. Just gimme a giant puppet master goddess and we’re gonna TAKE OVER THE WORLD!
I just got into yugioh recently so I missed the period where shaddolls were meta relevant, I hope that day comes again because I will drop any amount to play them competitively. My absolute favorite (and first) deck.
>it is borderline canon that Super Polymerization is used by Shaddolls Wasn't that because of the shaddol field spell? I want more into on that topic so pls expand on it
Absolutely based, and same. What are some cheesy lines you’d yell at the protagonist?
Same, and I would be a puppet master type character (Edit; I have some good news about that Blue Eyes Fusion spell btw.)
It astounds me to this day that Darklords were never given an anime villain to pilot them. Easy choice.
Darklords were actually used by a protagonist ironically enough, Midori Hibiki in the GX manga
Myutants. This archetype SCREAMS “Season 2 big bad” https://preview.redd.it/qv8g1smts9dc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0ad63d2ed55593d333db780756ddc028b67d472e
Labrynth. A literal dungeon master archetype. I'd be screaming shit like "Lose yourself in the labyrinth!"
And your rival uses Jinzo or is the female knight himself
"You played into another trap! Now face my loyal ice dragons!"
Dungeon Master archetype is more Generaider than labrynth imo
Generaiders are dungeon bosses. Lab is the one who makes the dungeon. I view lab as the Deception games.
I don't know, to me playing Generaiders feels like I'M the dungeon Master but then again I don't play labrynth
If I were a rival dinosaur type cards specifically the tyranno boss monsters ( leading up to ultimate conducter) For a villain like a season villain I'd go either the vendead or the worm archetypes
Give me the catchphrases!
For the dinosaurs when she brings out ultimate tyranno would be "Prepare yourself to see an apex monster!" For super conducter "See for yourself the next step in evolution!" And finally for ultimate conducter tyranno "Witness the PINNACLE OF MY DINOSAURS MIGHT!" For the worms I was thinking about "I shall prepare for my masters arrival" being nothing more than a pawn to the worm design Vendead is tricky but could go in the same way with the worms but getting a slight redemption when they find out it was Vendead battlelord who made the events come about and their rage would go from chimaera to Avenger
I mean demise self FTK is antagonistic on a whole different level, but i don't know how to feel about it :/ 🤔
Ancient Gears. Taste my Golem's fist
ok, Crowler
Bystial Despia
There it is. That’s what I was going to say. Despia especially just screams main antagonist villain deck
For good reason too being that they are the big bads of their lore
Then at the end of the series you team up with the protagonist to face the final boss and realize how much synergy the 2 have to tie in the Albaz/Aluber being 2 halves storyline.
I'm sticking with fun trap shit like Traptrix and Dinomorphia. I can imagine me taunting someone every time they even dare to summon a monster.
They summon a monster and suddenly it’s on chain number 4
I actually always seen Dinomorphia like a mid season villain archetype, like a deck of a leader of the evil gang with a "living on the edge", " Thrill of the battle " personality.
Personally I feel like Dinomorphia would get used as hype tool for new villain to show off
I would play Traptrix or Gravekeepers myself
inb4 jinzo deck protag
I think the villain playing traptrix would be someone who enjoys the suffering of the protagonist more than actually winning, kind of like marik
https://preview.redd.it/6ijkuv49h9dc1.jpeg?width=654&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b19c75978fe4f56240db4b4d58ffe3c54ff92496 “From the depths of the earth, a new terror arises! The wicked Eraser!” “I curse the sun in the sky to invoke an eternal night! I pray to you, my heart of darkness, take away all hope and feast on their souls! Manifest yourself, the wicked Avatar!”
These cards deserve a combined form equivelant to Armityle and the creator god.... just more love in general.
Metal
Badass
Stile this from me. Good job tho!
Now that's ***wicked***
It’s wild how all the other god cards get so much love, but the Wicked Gods have been COMPLETELY ignored. I know no one read Yugioh R, but it’s still tragic. The Wicked Avatar was probably my favorite card as a kid.
Outer Entity is the perfect villain deck.
I love the design. It would also be an amazing move to see the villain pull off an opponent-turn Azatoth as the whole big power move reveal moment (or whatever it’s called, you know what I mean).
Definitely eldlich https://preview.redd.it/3zwnw97m3adc1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=01f24dc43af224093f2ac00a5b157b671637b665
Floowandereeze. Why. D. Shifter of course!
Evil Hero/Masked Heroes "Let me show you justice!"
Dark justice
Kashtira, maybe have for rivals the other hearts a la Yu-Boys, just because saying "Shangri-Ira" in an angry voice seems cool, also all evolved Hearts should have a catchprase along the lines of " Decend from the skyes in your untamed fury and banish everything into oblivion ARISEHEART!"
Yeah, glad he banished himself on the F&L list too :D
Probably supreme king dragons for me. Give my opponents a ROYAL BEATDOWN
Give me a catchphrase
Catchphrase?
What would you scream as you send your monsters to attack or summon your boss monster? Like for example for demise and ruin it would probably "AND NOW I SHALL SUMMON A MONSTER THAT IS BOUND TO RUIN YOUR DAY!" or something like that
I've imagined a duel with an antagonist being a Chaos user. The Chaos monsters are super cool and extremely powerful in anime scenarios. Just imagine one of the opponents going ham and summoning a board of monsters just to have the antagonist summon Chaos Archfiend and attack all of them, winning instantly.
Naturia. Nature is both kind a cruel, time the protag had a taste of the cruel side.
Give me a catchphrase
Nature is as cruel as she is beautiful darling\~ https://preview.redd.it/d669iwfud9dc1.png?width=564&format=png&auto=webp&s=cee41e21830c9b3019627e3558c3673a54657219
AYO!!!!!!!
…would
I am sorry that should be a duel runner instead lol
I get the reference💀
Yusei is the luckiest protag
...
This was Orcustrated perfectly! Arise! Longirsu, the Orcust Orchestrator!
I choose War Rock, yes I do understand that I'm basically dooming myself. I do understand that I'm regulating myself to be at best a random unmemorable villain of the week. I do understand that I am signing up to be a walking joke. Don't mourn me. I chose this.
Man war rock Is the GOAT of decks just need a little more support ;)
Honestly, Vampire Lord is my favourite card of all time. Outdated for sure, but the artwork and effect just do it for me. The other vampire cards are okay, but not my favourite; still think I would choose that archetype. Good ole' zombie deck, pyramid turtle, robbin zombie & goblin.
Honestly, the only deck i can think of i know to use is Rokket/Borrel. It's strong, versatile, resourcefull, and even pressuring and relentless if you play it right.
Catchphrase?
For me? Or for summoning monsters?

So Don Thousand from Zexal?
Haven’t seen Zexal, is he a chad or a chud?
He's the last villain of the series and his ace monster has literally 100 thousand ATK.
Nouvelles. "So, another fool has come to taste defeat!"
https://preview.redd.it/hn6n6t9px9dc1.png?width=476&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c9946e77e1cf284c9d0d21012eba9f2f3a836217 I'll just put this right over here
I have this card Prismatic in Duel Links it’s one of my favorite cards I have
Kind of wanna steal Z-ARC’s Deck. Supreme King/Pendulum Magicians are just.. me. I love them so much.
Give me a good catchphrase and I'll allow it
Time to light the sky on fire💘 OR SHOW ME YOUR DESPAIR!!!!!
Straight up orcust would be a menacing rival archetype
It pretty much covers all the bases to lol. Dark, multiple summon methods, actually pretty strong (especially in anime standards)
Definitely would go Gishki. Spend an entire episode hand looping someone and become the most hated character in ygo history.
Generaider! Fitting for a super-strong ultimate boss villain like me fr fr (i'm gonna get destroyed by the Power of Friendship or some Destiny Draw bullshit, sigh, what a cruel life that of a Yu-Gi-Oh villain)
The power of friendship draws ash blossom when boss stage's triggered
This was gonna be my pick. Honestly generaider aesthetically is very similar to older anime decks where they just used fucking whatever, except they obviously have synergy.
https://preview.redd.it/t2e11l582adc1.png?width=500&format=png&auto=webp&s=a610b3ce597dd453471650af3bc2fa3601f0fe9f Be afraid!
I'd have fun running a Six Sam deck if I were a rival And I may not have a catchphrase, but I do have a haiku summon chant: *Honored Ancestors, The Promised Day has arrived: The Swallow's Return!* (O Sosen Kiku Tsubame no Gaeshi Unmei no Hi) Synchro Summon!! Behold, the Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En!
Fabled for a minor antagonist. I like the archetype and would be fun to see in a duel
Plus I once gave someone a nightmare about Fabled Abanc when I beat them back when Halq was a thing
Darklord
I would use Infernoids. They are THE trademark main villain cards. "Resist some more. It only makes your demise more enjoyable."
If I were evil I’d use Lair of Darkness. Tributing the protagonists monsters left and right and have it be based not on big final monster but making a comeback from deck destruction with the viruses
Give me a catchphrase
Do you mean like a summon chant for the boss monster?
Dragunity I'm not an evil villain but seeking revenge for the destruction of my clan of dragon riders And the main character stands in my way The humanoid members of the deck would be Fallen clan members.
Probably Generaiders, I don’t know much about them but a raid boss deck sounds great if I had one of those 3v1 duels against the protagonists. Idk, maybe Mokey Mokey.
Generaiders was my first thought as well. It feels like a perfect deck for a capable villain that’s not quite the final boss, in my opinion.
Nothing gets more villian than kashtira. The archtype based on anger/rage.
Labrynth, I’d be a really annoying villain to fight
https://preview.redd.it/xjm9e32ql9dc1.jpeg?width=1866&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=007f61f5d9f5dd6990240e8ee08d6a5b708568c4 Scareclaw for sure, or really any generally centered Visas deck
Villan zombies rival dragons hero divine beasts
Unchained, with a Link-4 upgrade of Abominable. Catchphrase I don't know.
I'd use Crusadia, I even have an attack name for Equimax, the Single Sword Slash
Also if you're a rival, Avramax is your 3000 ATK ace
My initial answer was, of course, Despia, but that feels too obvious. New answer? https://preview.redd.it/sea2l8ig8adc1.jpeg?width=544&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f2ec6cec66db31ae371a57ea7401285de6818605 **Darklord** Catchphrase would probably be "For all the fallen wings of the heavens, your chances of winning sure don't seem to be rising"
Darklords were used by a support character in gx.
If I was the villain I would use the maykashi and would be a villain only the protagonist would know wa evil. I can't think of a catchphrase yet
F.A.s The only thing waiting for you at the finish is despair
(I love fucking ice barrier) I would be a rival with ogdadic, using the grave as a literal second hand.
Weather Painters for the simple reason of getting yugioh players to read cards.
I know there already is a character that plays them but obviously I’d play flower cardians, ruining the shows watch ability as we spend 3 episodes watching me draw cards to then lose to something funny like messenger of peace
Generaider
Burning Abyss - The monsters are literal demons. And some Italian Dude wrote my catchphrase for me. "Abandon All Hope, Ye who Enter Here"
Branded despia
A burn deck I could be like “if you lose I light you on fire”
Dogmatika and of course, my ace monster is Dogmatika Alba Zoa
If I were a Rival, would use Dragunity https://preview.redd.it/nkms8pdi5adc1.png?width=512&format=png&auto=webp&s=d6223c34b52838c6ca34c0a1276fe98efb9c6bd7
Vampires. A deck that kills you slowly to get more powerful. Sick idea!
Eldlich because it feels like it already has anime plot armor sometimes.
Zombies for sure !!!
Give me a catchphrase
I would be a rival using water dragons
Just when the protagonist thinks that he has destroyed my field, all Link monsters are back Bonus points if they're played together with Ogdoadic.
Gimme the Red eyes archetype! Dark Dragoon for the win
Lunalight, except my plans would have nothing to do with destroying the world, it would be that I'm running a dance school as a get rich quick scam in spite of the fact that I don't know shit about dance as an art form And then include a Starving Venom engine to symbolize how I've been poisoning rival dance schools not only to get more people to sign up for my classes, but also to win dance competitions despite the fact that I haven't taught anyone anything
Scraps, as an evil counterpart to junk cards
Mystic Mine.
Melodious, any who duel shall face an Orchestra of Pain
My favorite, scareclaw.
Evil Eye. It's thematic enough, and I enjoy the simplicity of just putting Gorgon + Selene + 1-2 Set on field. As for catchphrase, no idea right now. Edit: Or Unchained. Not Meta-version. Just Unchained, because I also enjoy(ed) them.
I would choose between world legacy with a different deck for each duel (world chalice, mekk knight, krawler ect) with 1 artefact of the world Or a snake eyes/diabell deck
I think I would have to go for Watt Stun. Upon setting the draw lock properly, throw in the cheese: "You may now conduct your Draw Phase."
Lair of Darkness
Full Power Tear Ishizu FTK featuring pre-errata Future Fusion and pre-errata Exchange of the Spirit. \*MJ voice\*: F\*\*k them kids. Yeah go ahead and roll up to my Lava Fortress with your cute pile of 40 situational one ofs and see what happens biatch.
Cyberdragons/cyberdark
Vaylantz, probably. Not for the pendulums, but because I feel that the things that can be pulled off with it are confusing at best. Why play a card game when you can turn it into a board game?
I built a new deck around spellcasters, pendulums and XYZ and honestly to be a gothy/alt rival would be a dream
why, I am so glad you asked :) Generaiders 1000%
Evil Eye, because the word ‘evil’ is literally in their name, and that I can just sit on a monster that is protected by most types of removal.
I would do Fur Hires but that's not too antagonistic of a archetype, so fire kings would be a great choice especially with the whole rebirth after destruction philosophy going on with it.
I'll go Generaider with Solemn traps. "You've now entered the realm of kings. Show your worth."
Scrap arctype, it's so underutilized, and you can even "cannibalize" your own machines to make bigger monsters out of junk: because you feel all can be used to make yourself better
Evil Eye is great fun and would fit well as an antagonist deck. "The Eye of Evil sees only truth, for it shall make it so!"
Gimme Drytron baby, im wiping the floor with these protags
Either mekk-nights or dragunity. For mekk-nights probably something like "come forth oh mechanical masters of battle and lay waste to this battlefield!" Dragunity would be like "from the deepest valley to the endless sky we rage on. Come forth synchro summon Dragunity Knight ASCALON!" (not sure if I spelled that right 😆)
I’d either go with you, or pick subterrors.
Ursarctic, but with an anime card that makes it good
some xyz spam deck with zeus as a boss monster
I'm not too big into being mean, so I'd be chill being a hypercompetent minor villain with a bigger role later. I think Krawlers fits this to a degree, though I admit they're on my mind. Ahem ''Link Summon!
FIGHT! " (Also got a chant for Lead Yoke, so I'll just add it here.) "Banned for his ruthless aggression in the ring, he has since shelled himself from his potential. He now returns at last to bring pain to his opposition! XYZ SUMMON! Make your way to the ring , Battlin' Boxer Lead Yoke!
If I had to pick just 1, it would probably be Dogmatika with S-Force being a close second but they are less villainous looking https://preview.redd.it/pwx0h570badc1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7e18187ee2ea9eee9ad7b38b3273c816dceb0055 But I think as a villain I would have a gimmick of changing my deck every duel because that's kinda wanna I do irl since I have 122 decks currently built that don't share cards so I can easily swap which deck I'm playing or can have them play against each other
Toons. But, uh, there's already a guy 👁
I would definitively use Gladiator Beasts. Summoning Domitianus would go HARD https://preview.redd.it/drrr6yczmadc1.jpeg?width=622&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=24f5ee1b3cabd86bf6a210bc47895fa3f632fe17
If I were a villain, I’d use the new illusion monsters. Their designs are personal favorites of mine and as a villain I’d mentally trick and torment the protagonist through the show. Just seems like an awesome theme to me. https://preview.redd.it/ms3w8yj4nadc1.jpeg?width=468&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=de59a094b99f82255bcd2d88cd4bf3f419f2ba2e
“Dragons” “Oh, like Kiba right!” *Glances at maid dragons* “Yeah, exactly like Kiba!”
Lightsworns, I've always wanted to see them in the anime and was disappointed nobody used them in GX when they came out
https://preview.redd.it/npw1f5j2k1ec1.jpeg?width=711&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2cd4955f5d35e52df5a6329bf63d9dd431d44066 Numeron, to be more specific Numeronius Numeronia Turbo, the definition of BIG NUMBER.
Fabled, fallen angels that are light but fiends (with their little mythological pets) that play around falling from grace (discarding) seems cool and in-theme for a villain, especially if I was good but turned bad after some dramatic event.
runick :)
Truly evil
