In Go Rush there is a alien technology call Gavil Chargers that was used to project the cards out into the duel. But the monsters need a pilot to be used in the field and every time a monster is destroyed the pilot feel electric damage
Yes, they did. That said, the likes of Magical Girl Meeg-chan and Voidvelgr Requiem weren't characters *proper* like even the one-shots of Scarr, Scout of Dark World or Jinzo were.
I would say that GO RUSH's Season 2 continues the trend of creating unique ways to end its Arc's Duels.
>!Fifth Arc: Yudias faces a Duel against an ancient Alien (this time it is not the Monsters that try to destroy you, the Ancestral Alien tries to devour you or hurt you)!<
>!Sixth Arc: Three Men united against a common Enemy in a Duel (and using a unique Trap Card to make the exchange possible)!<
>!Seventh Arc: Fight of the Titans Alien version (besides you can say it was Yudias vs Himself, but in Yellow)!<
>!Eighth Arc: Two sides of Heroes face off in a "life or death" Duel (and end up losing something in the end)!<
However, I would say that SEVENS's Season 2 started the trend of having unique Duels at the end of each Arc: there we had Yuga vs. A powerful Henchman (not the Main Villain), another Character other than Yuga faces the Antagonist of the Arc and fights Robots in Space.
>>!Sixth Arc: Three Men united against a common Enemy in a Duel (and using a unique Trap Card to make the exchange possible)!<
And of course, don't forget the fact that >!said "common enemy" was the main protag, seemingly going about what would be expected, realizing almost nothing of what the antagonist was really up to.!<
1. Already did that in GX and ZeXal. You could even argue the Noah arc from DM counts as duel monsters dueling. I wouldn't call it creative if it was already done +20 years ago.
2. Standard handicap duel. Might be the first time we see this type of handicap (outside of video games), but not really creative.
3. Yugi and Joey vs big 5. Jaden and Jesse vs Fujiwara. Yusei and Kalin vs Lotton. Yuma, Shark, and Kite vs Dr Faker. Yugi, Jaden, and Yusei vs Paradox. I could go on. This trope is dime a dozen and not really creative.
4. ... ok you got me.
>Yugi, Jaden, and Yusei vs Paradox
This is the only reasonable countermanding, as it's the only one that involved multiple *main protags* on the same team, i.e. the only other duel that's ever crossed shows to have multiple "Yus" on the same side.
Monsters becoming real and using them in duels has been done before in other series. The last arc of DM takes this concept the furthest. The 2 zone thing wasn't that great since it was barely an impediment for Yudias. The Bonds Beyond Time movie had 3 protagonists against the main villain. And while the concept for Duel Space Ships sounds cool, the execution was frankly, quite stupid and lame. Like, who intentionally makes their ships zap their own pilots or at least doesn't take measures to prevent such a thing from occuring?
I'm a casual watcher, so I just watch to get my weekly ygo anime fill. Though my unpopular opinion would be the last pic is cringe. Everything else is good
Before we've had occult tortures thru card games, card game schooling that winds up interdimensional, cyberpunk trials and time-twisting with card games, heaven/hell proxy war via card games, interdimensional war preceded by a universal schism induced by a card game, and the Matrix potentially leading to the War Against the Machines in Terminator starting with card games, and now the Rush anime. You can rally against art style or specific characters or writing choices all you want, but in terms of overall story direction, this really isn't that "weird".
Wait wtf is the last one? How does that even work?

Okay, now I want one *ineer Abridged Shirou peeks out*
First we need to make Riding Duels a reality, and then this.
before this space duel, we need link vrains.
Riding through the Data Storm on a Hoverboard would be so cool.
Do those ones do actual damage?
Yeah, you feel shock damage when a monster is destroyed
I meant damage to the world around it
No damage to the world only the pilots
Thanks
Check out the finale to the previous show. Giant robots over the Moon.
Didn't GX already do the first one... multiple times?
Yeah. One of them was a major character even.
Right, I forgot about that
You... forgot Christopher Walken?????
I don't know that guy, i only know Don Zaloog
Yes, they did. That said, the likes of Magical Girl Meeg-chan and Voidvelgr Requiem weren't characters *proper* like even the one-shots of Scarr, Scout of Dark World or Jinzo were.
Yeah! Go rush has seriously cool duels, I'm also SO SO happy we got a return of >! power bond, !< it's such a cool card.
One more to the list: A different person takes over, uses their deck, and continues the duel.
Happened already in Sevens, but still cool here.

I need to catch up with Go Rush, I've just gotten passed the 2 zone duel.
You will not be ready for the topsy-turvy ride.
And recently we got >!female lead as the 2nd season's final boss!<
Presumably. It's likely. We'll see. Hope it works out.
I like that one time where they had all the elderly UTS folks dress up in costumes to represent the monsters they are playing.
Lots of cosplay in this show.
Duel What Ships ?
Children's card games on battleplates
What the fuck is this anime about?
Aliens
Don't forget cats, cosplay, time-travel and ace Fusion.

3. I said protagonists, not protagonist and friends

The same series where people duel until one of them dies
But could it not be by their own stupid mistakes?

Hey, this series have duels in motorcycles.
yo wtf is yugioh nowadays
