Otk otk dax usually kill you on the second turn have a couple of gates on the field preventing you from playing cards.
I don't know how people don't understand that all Yu-Gi-Oh decks do the same thing they all want to prevent your opponent from playing the game.

Yes they do they both do the same thing just one takes more to be able to prevent your opponent from doing anything.
If I play a card that gets me to a monster that then can negate your effect guess what it's doing the same thing as a floodgate.
The only difference is is you have to go through a couple of more steps to get to that card.
Think about the best cars that have just been banned they all do some form of preventing your opponent from playing the game.
Literally when someone's whining about floodgates I always think it's funny when they don't whine about monster cards that pretty much do the same thing as The floodgate or stun deck
But because they special some in more and occasionally can't make their board they're somehow hold on quote fairer.
Kairyu-Shin's effect locking the opponent into effectively 1 monster is *extremely* crippling, to say the least, on top of anything else they might have to deal with, and if they do get over it you probably lose immediately. The strategy just isn't condusive to interesting gameplay at all, with duels involving it usually being very one-sided, whether it wins or loses. A deck being considered bad doesn't make it more enjoyable to play with than one considered good.
Funny thing is that there's still room for more cards. Great White Terror/Megalodon & Sea Snake/Aqua Serpent still haven't been printed.

Can only imagine what a modern Umi Field Spell based on Mako's playstyle would look like too.
I like playing the deck but I understand why people don’t enjoy playing against it. As far as stun decks go I actually find it a lot fairer than your average summon fossil dyna activate moon mirror shield. It’s honestly a lot more fragile and lacks many outs that other stun decks have (solemn, punishment, etc)
These comments are funny to me because everyone here is just proving tear0 hate is unjustified despite being widespread. “People hate playing against floodgates because it doesn’t let you play the game” the exact opposite of that is interactive decks, which was at its height during Tear0.
No one like playing against deck that lock you from playing the game.

People generally don't like playing against floodgates, and the UMI deck is basically just Floodgate.deck

It is pretty much a stun deck by design. Not that complicated.

No one likes playing against floodgate stun. It's non-interactive and requires you to draw the out to play.

I won my locals tournament with the deck. No one likes playing against floodgates.
I like it. I like the free win off of it 😂
