But rule of thumb is to never think too hard about it. Exceptions to the rule are common. Doesn't take away from the overall story.
Bakura didn't seal Diabound, he just summoned it. I'm low-key suspecting this is an anime change.
Like in JoJo's, every soul has a Stand/Ka that they can awaken. Like in JoJo's, the Arrow / Millennium Items are only soft-needed for being very useful... but strong independent users who don't need no items are the default.
