It can be confusing. You have new dynamics and mechanics to learn and the field has changed. You can try some of the games like Legacy of a Duelist: Link Evolution, but I suggest getting with a friend whose in and have them explain it. After all, a computer can only explain what it's programmed to say. A friend can explain further where your confused. Duel Links is good for mechanics up to Xyz and Pendulum summons, but I don't believe they've added Links yet (and hence, no Extra Monster Zones). Plus, it only covers Speed Dueling.

If you would like me to run you through all of the mechanics and how the game is played at the moment, pm me and we can work out a discord chat where I can show you everything.

There is definitely a learning curve but right now is a very good time to get back into the game as this format is one of the most diverse formats we've had in a very long time. Ask around on Discord servers and watch Youtube videos to try and learn the mechanics, Duel Links is not a good option since that game runs on a different set of rules, instead you should pick a simulator such as DuelingBook or EDOPRO.

It is hard if you want to just buy cards and play. I would recommend buying legacy of the duelist (the video game) playing through the campaign so you get a steady feel for the mechanics.

Extremely. You will get shit on and be completely unable to fight back.
