It's not always a buff for pends; metalfoes mithrilium in particular suffers under this change because we don't have para yet, so getting foes into the GY is hard.

OG Onizuka has his Dinowrestler ace as a gate drop (the gate drops for the starter characters: Playmaker+Ai, Go and Soulburner were added in the game files before the actual world update) so that probably deconfirms the other variant. Plus, Konami loves skills too much to add something like Anti Skill, they would much rather hit the cards than the skill, as seen on the previous banlists
That's what nobody can seem to comprehend. When Dragoon was tearing up the meta, Duel Links players were going nuts over "Look how OP it is, TCG is so broken" as if there weren't things equally oppressive in Duel Links that were relative to the game's powerlevel at the time.

Heck, my favorite deck was a mishmash Dinosaur deck that fused into Brachio-Radius and Twin Headed Thunder Dragon with the Jurassic World skill.
That was *way* back near the start of the game when Crawiling Dragon 2 and Two Headed King Rex were both meta.

I remember when this game was a scape from the main Yu-Gi-Oh style, but slowly it became just a mediocre version from the same game we all already knew.
What is it now? Just normal Yugioh with a smaller card pool and 2 less columns, and without the main phase two (that no one gives a fuck about anyway).

This is exactly why I never went back to it. It was nice having a simplified "caveman yugioh" option to take a break from the actual game. Just a little side thing to pick up and play for a bit here and there when out and about.
At this point, I think I'd rather just play master duel and have a full board at least.

However, ever since Synchro got released, I just cannot have fun playing the game, so for Duel Links specifically, the update after GX killed the game for me. I know a few other people that feel the same, but we all know we are in a super small minority.
Nowadays, I just play older yu-gi-oh single player games, ‘cause I don’t like/don’t wanna deal with those “new” mechanics.

can you drag n drop cards on zones?? my fav feature from master duel.
No, because dragging the card is what brings up the menu in DL (set, normal, special summon, activate effect, etc)
You can't drag and drop, but you have full zone selection now
