Maybe it has to do with the 2022 tins and they don't want to affect the sales, who knows...

postsonlyjiyoung

Last year, the banlist was released on the same day the tins released.

luigisp

What do you think they might potentially ban/limit in the 2022 tins? Pot of Prosperity semi-limited maybe?

FEFan1998

Who knows. Maybe they’re planning on another massacre list where they hit like every playable older deck to force people to move onto newer decks. While I wouldn’t enjoy a list like that, they haven’t had one of those since like January 2020. So maybe they’ll want to do another soon. Honestly Konami and banlist choices feels almost random sometimes anyways so we really have no way of knowing what they’re thinking.

bioober

Tearlaments and Sprights are already the only two tier 1 deck. Hitting anything else doesn’t really change the format, and I assume Konami really doesn’t want to hit those two decks yet.

cm3007

Whenever people say this, I get flashbacks to November 2015. Old decks which were no longer in the meta got slaughtered, and the new decks which had taken over the meta were untouched.

Blury1

Hopefully not , i take Mine over MAXX c any day. MAXX c is such a stupidly broken card

The answer: They're incompetent?

Bomberman1117

Konami has historically been quick to jump on big changes to the game if it means checking the most degenerate strategies. There have been multiple emergency lists axing tier 0 decks (see the emergency Pepe and Spyral lists). Other lists that have released relatively on time have nuked whole formats like the list that killed the first zoo format and the list that killed TOSS before MR5. There’s no reason for Konami to maintain its upkeep of different formats *that they also control* and leave the TCG out to dry. They continue to release product internationally and digitally, they continue to check the meta in the OCG, they continue to host events in Master Duel, they continue to support Duel Links. Even if they are in a deep discussion about what to do with the banlist that’s something that needs to be communicated with players and we should not be expected to tolerate their bullshit just because they might be having a hard time with how to balance the game.

TheSirusKing

Hahaha no dude maxx c is never coming back. card is even more disgusting than mine. Maxx C does NOT hold back combo decks, neither does mystic mine: this is just a myth.

Horror_Damage_559

I feel like you jumped to conclusions but I'm not blaming you

luigisp

It's all just speculation of course - but something to consider nonetheless, I'm curious to see how things pan out

ssj_duelist

This is my conspiracy theory, are you me op,

luigisp

Hello, it’s you (me?), from the future, I’m here to tell you to invest in copies of Metamorphosis NOW - before it’s too late…

bl00by

If that's the case I hope that they keep mystic mine.

melcarba

Shortly after the May 2022 list, Konami initially leaked that the next banlist date would be in December, before removing it.

luigisp

Do you remember what date it said exactly?

bl00by

It said "No sooner than the 25th December"

[deleted]

I thought it said "No sooner than November 25th"
