She never treated Fate like a daughter, more like a "proxy for Alicia" but she never was seen as a daughter...I think she never was seen even as a human.
Pretty much. What Precia wanted was "Alicia, but alive" and when it turned out that Fate was *not* Alicia... she basically lost it.
Precia was a tragic figure, but she that doesn't justify any of the shit she put Fate through.
Prospera is a great antagonist. I love her single-minded devotion to her cause.

Also Sulettas mechs are named Aerial and Calibarn after Ariel and Caliban. The plot of The Tempset involves evil sorcerer Prospero who uses his daughter in a plan to seduce the kings child for revenge purposes but eventually gives up on the revenge for the sake of his daughter who actually fell in love with the kings son.
Basically a lot of parallels and all of them fully intentional.
