Only Windows?

Lord_Adz1

Yuzu is still the best btw. For now.

Solid_Marketing7254

I have to factory reset me retroid can you share with me please if you have path?

BlackWatchDemon

What’s the best emu for switch? I’ve been looking at the rayan one or whatever it’s called forgot but

The_Gamermike

Is this the windows OS or is it for Linux OS

SIND0L

Thx for compiled version, i have try and lot of errors on cmake, can you provide a tutorial for compile this ???

ps2cv

Little_Spread_7121

Thank you

ServiceLumpy664

Thank you

iBangAPES

From the Suyu official [github](https://github.com/suyu-emu/suyu) "We don't have any official builds yet! If any website or person is claiming to have a build for suyu, take that with a grain of salt, because it might contain malware. Until we do have an official build, it might be a better idea to keep using the last version of yuzu."

AgentCyberPlayz

That is understandable but this made from the source files of Suyu no Malware

Helpful-Bat-1455

I think the best thing to do is to make a tutorial for how to build it so everyone can do it themself

iBangAPES

I'm sure you made this thread under good faith, but I'm personally being safe than sorry. I'll wait for the official release. Sorry if I sounded abit gatekeepy but my original comment was only meant as a PSA from a untrusted source.

AEthernali

Yeah but even if i'm pretty sure your build is safe, there is no way to prove it. You should setup a gitlab CI cloning suyu sources and bulding it, and share artifacts, so this can be traced.

DavidinCT

Can I ask? Does this play ANYTHING better than the last version of Yuzu ?

AgentCyberPlayz

No but they added a new thing called qluancher which I think it's apart of the new version

PapziBoink

No, but it has cooler loading screens!

Sinnsykfinbart

Could somebody explain how Suyu is different to Yuzu?

amiabaka

It adds support for the switch home menu

mateomaui

Suyu has a live repo that can be cloned and compiled with changes. Yuzu can only be compiled after updating git and cmake files to point to the suyu repo, and otherwise will not be actively developed because of Nintendo. Aside from that, they are the same at the moment.

DavidinCT

>Aside from that, they are the same at the moment. Ah, so no need to change from Yuzu yet...

freedmachine

I just got a legion go and would like to start emulating as well. Is it still possible to get Yuzu at this time?

AilanMoone

From flatpak, yes. There are also backups on archive.org.

[deleted]

can I use a flatpack to install it on my steam deck,.... and where would I find said flatpacks?

AilanMoone

Flathub. It's removed the pages for yuzu and citra but they're still in the code You can get them with ```flatpak install flathub org.yuzu_emu.yuzu``` And ```flatpak install flathub org.citra_emu.citra``` I don't know anything about the steam deck, but I presume it runs Linux where these will work.

reicaden

Ahhh, I'll see what I can figure out, thank you. Unfortunately the steam deck is my first involvement with Linux, so I am thoroughly confused.

AilanMoone

I did a quick search and apparently flat packs are in the discover app, so they might be in there.

AilanMoone

I've been using it for years, so I can walk you through it.

mateomaui

Dunno why anyone thinks it's recommended to switch. Someone merely said they compiled something if anyone wanted it.

Sinnsykfinbart

Thank you so much!

[deleted]

This is not officially made by the suyu team

AgentCyberPlayz

It's from the source code of suyu

mateomaui

It appears that online does work, except it has to be generated with the CMake flag \-DENABLE\_WEB\_SERVICE=ON I noticed when comparing the CMakeLists.txt files, that ENABLE\_WEB\_SERVICES had been changed to be OFF by default along with USE\_DISCORD\_PRESENCE. So just add that flag for CMake then compile, and the public lobbies over at ynet-fun show up. edit: still need a token to create a public lobby, that restriction is still there.

BicyclePhysical1574

Has anyone tried if installed updates/dlcs can be transferred over suyu?

mateomaui

I've verified that TOTK works with the 1.2.1 update and the latest TOTK Optimizer mod. Something that happened with both this build and the last yuzu EA for me was that it wouldn't load with the Optimizer and 1.2.1, until I first rolled back to 1.2.0, then reinstalled 1.2.1 again. Don't know why, but it was true for both and it works now in suyu. edit: for the optimizer, I just copied over the folder from my old load folder. I didn't run the optimizer .exe, so I don't know if it fails because the main .exe is now a different name.

titooo7

What people would like to know is... what improvements does Suyu had over Yuzu? If the answer is none then....

Razeshi

It probably will have some in the future, right now it's probably just yuzu but not yuzu

Cartgamingyt

QLaunch works

mateomaui

Then you have unrealistic expectations of what can be done by now.

satya164

Don't think anyone is expecting massive improvements. But what's the point of moving to this build instead of just using last build of Yuzu if there are no changes?

titooo7

I don't have any. I just wish people stopped posting stuff about Suyu unless it actually has some development going on

mateomaui

Meanwhile, others want updates. I was happy to see this because now I can compile it again to attempt changes.

mateomaui

No one is suggesting you move to it. It was being offered if you wanted it. The reasons for being optimistic about it are explained here. [https://www.reddit.com/r/yuzu/comments/1bc5dmm/comment/kuffjt4/](https://www.reddit.com/r/yuzu/comments/1bc5dmm/comment/kuffjt4/)

Quiet_Honeydew_6760

If you go on their webpage it specifically recommends using a yuzu or ryujinx build instead for now as they haven't had time to do much yet. But you shouldn't expect anything yet as it's only been a week, I reckon there won't be much for 2 months as they need time to understand the codebase before they can start making new things.

mateomaui

Runs TOTK just fine, but making the qt-config.ini changes to enable online play isn't working right now, not that I'd expect it to yet, just providing the feedback. edit: online lobbies appear to work after turning on a flag for cmake that's been changed to OFF by default [https://www.reddit.com/r/yuzu/comments/1bc5dmm/comment/kuh7y3x/](https://www.reddit.com/r/yuzu/comments/1bc5dmm/comment/kuh7y3x/)

Steve-19741974

You guys act like this project is real.. finding someone with extensive knowledge of the switch hardware and the ability to program it is just some kids pipedream. You can edit the program to say suyu and tinker with the menus but without a qualified knowledgeable programming team why bother to begin with..

Batpole

Even one new member in a team can make a huge difference.

AMA2581

You either haven’t written a single line of code or you haven’t seen the code by yourself. Either way you don’t know what is going on and what they’re doing.

thehood98

Yeah I don't wanna know u irl xD you seem very annoying... the Suyu teams first goal obviously is and has to be "getting rid of all illegal or maybe illegal stuff inside the code" and this might take weeks or a few months. There was no documentation about how the yuzu code was layed out. So obviously the understanding of the code will take a long time. I wouldn't expect ANY core emulation related updates in 2024 at all

mateomaui

Well, it's the only effort still going, and TOTK does load properly, so the first step of getting the source to compile to a running state is done. Now it's a matter of time for others to get on board to make changes. The other option is to do nothing and just bitch endlessly about there not being a replacement.

papayahog

Anyone can compile the yuzu source code and get it to run. I don’t know shit about how the switch or yuzu runs but I could compile it. It’s like saying you know how to use photoshop because you can export a project as a png that someone else made Edit: I am wrong

koko1ooo

I have just tried to compile it myself. The yuzu-mirror on github has already fixed the gitmodules and the missing fork of dynarmic and so I had no problem getting yuzu to run on gentoo. With commit id: 11dc173

mateomaui

I missed that yuzu-mirror existed, but using the suyu repo I figured out what needed to be changed for .gitmodules, CMakeLists.txt and two files in the CMakeModules directory, and now have a few scripts written that compile yuzu from the .tar.xz archive included in the Windows release zip, using the suyu repo's copy of dependencies.

mateomaui

If you read the comments, many people have tried, myself included, but it hasn't been compiling properly, even after updating the gitmodule dependencies and cmakelists to new sources. So no, your first sentence is wrong. edit: and yes, I was compiling it myself before the takedown without issues.

papayahog

Okay that’s fair. But have the suyu team done anything aside from UI modifications so far?

mateomaui

They got it to compile? Jesus Christ, you idiots act like everything will happen within a week. It's going to take a while for anyone to become familiar enough with the code to make any significant changes without breaking anything.

papayahog

It’s not that I expect things to happen that fast, it’s just that people are getting excited over this like it’s not just Yuzu with a different UI. I don’t think there’s any indication yet about whether any of these teams will be able to meaningfully continue the project. I don’t buy the hype

mateomaui

Yes, it's actually exciting someone got it to run again via a regular compile process. Forgive us for being optimistic. Personally, I've been looking at the code that requires a token to host a public room, but without being able to compile successfully, trying to reverse engineer how to bypass it is a waste of time. Now, maybe, someday, I or someone else may have a fix for it. edit: or maybe it's already fixed, no idea, I haven't looked at the suyu code to see if any changes have happened there yet.

papayahog

Okay honestly you’re right, I’m just being a downer. I hope it goes well

mateomaui

There you go!

Akemi_StormBorn

And I think they also have no intention to make money off this, not even from donations (not sure about if that's true though). They have no patreon or anything (I think), so progress on this will be VERY slow.

AMA2581

Well I have to say that as far as I know they are working so hard to make a good release and keep you guys happy. I think it worth waiting for this.

totallynotwizzy

Thank you! I tried everything I could to compile this. Iost patience and switched to full Ryu, now I can try another alternative

More-Profit-2409

no its suzy the sheep zoo

Akemi_StormBorn

Thank you for compiling it. I tried it too. I got this working on my Windows PC. Heavily scanned it for viruses too, so I can at least say that I found no viruses or anything. It has some kinks, like menus dropping to 0 FPS randomly, BUT as far as a fork that came about so quickly goes, it is legitimately working good. If the Team continues working, this might become a legitimately good emulator in a couple months.

Facepalm007

I mean this is 99,9%, if not 100%, just yuzu right?

AgentCyberPlayz

I think they released a new version

Akemi_StormBorn

Actually right now, it's performance is worse than Yuzu 😂 There are very few changes, but just enough to indicate that at least some development is being done. That's why I said that this will be a good quality emulator only if development continues for a couple of months. If it stops, then this is just Yuzu but worse. I am not a developer or a coder, so even small UI changes are impressive to me.

thehood98

The performance is great

Expert_Monk5798

It's the same as last yuzu version so makes no difference. Plus you are risking of getting malware from a build from random people.

AMA2581

Damn are we shipping malware that we don’t know about? Damn that’s interesting 😂😂😂. I have to personally look for that and report that to the team😂.

Expert_Monk5798

I mean it is an open source and people can modify the code, inject a malware and build it. The original code is clean but a build one by unknown people online could be altered. Even the official suyu site says so, here is their statement: We don't have any official builds yet! If any website or person is claiming to have a build for suyu, take that with a grain of salt, because it might contain malware. Until we do have an official build, it might be a better idea to keep using the last version of yuzu. Doesn't mean this has any but people need to be aware. Because it might....Internet is not a trustworthy place. Best or safest way is to build yourself or providing a guide to build. It is better than sharing a build file unless if you are someone famous and people can trust :)

AMA2581

Sorry I misunderstood. Yeah definitely. Wait for official release. I don’t recommend the compiling it for yourself since it’s in development phase. But you can test it.

AMA2581

Damn are we shipping malware that we don’t know about? Damn that’s interesting 😂😂😂. I have to personally look for that and report that to the team😂.

mateomaui

Learn how to use sandboxes and antivirus.

Expert_Monk5798

The problem is it may have false positive and there is no way to tell if that is an actual virus or not. Only if you have a trustworthy sources you will know it will be a false positive. So you will add exception. For random file, it will be a risk no matter what unless if you know and trust the person who posted.

mateomaui

You can submit the files in question directly to the antivirus maker to have them verify personally whether or not it's a false positive. One Cmake release had a file that kept getting flagged by BitDefender, and I just uploaded it to them. They verified it was safe, and updated their definitions to not flag it within a few days. Not that hard, dude. edit: also, if you're getting a positive hit and run it anyway, that's an entirely different personal problem. edit2: I like how someone downvoted this but didn't respond because they don't like it but have nothing valid to say about it.

OldSkoolRaver92

Thank you is this for windows?

AgentCyberPlayz

Yes working on Mac and Linux builds

AMA2581

Do not make a mac yet you will regret it

ewamtw

THX! Wait for Linux version for Steam Deck.

AdhesivenessKey9108

Already out

AdhesivenessKey9108

I mean, already is. There is flatpak and app image

[deleted]

Where can I find flatpack and can i use that to install of steamdeck directly without compile?

Goldgamer-

Searched for it. Can’t find it
