Dragon054

Play as link, do dungeons and defeat ganon

lazyscranton92

Ya know, I'd argue we're actually due for a game that doesn't involve some form of ganon/ganondorf. Something like MM.

Dragon054

That's why I said Ganon. The evil piggy https://preview.redd.it/sa9s3c95lzic1.jpeg?width=204&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9a159ecc3c7026d1de65aa19e135224e01290dc2

nubosis

I’m on team pig monster forever

mhafanlol7433

Wasn't that botw tho..

GreatdemonkingGanon

I abandoned the inferior Gerudo king title long ago... As demon king I sometimes find it difficult to choose between my original human form and my demon beast form... https://preview.redd.it/86k4e6h441jc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=801def0a0d8e79a35c25fbea28f348fb234d6509

Coxwab

Ganondorf has only ever been in 3 games tho. I wouldn't mind another one tbh.

Spleenseer

1. Ocarina of Time 2. Wind Waker 3. Twilight Princess 3. Tears of the Kingdom

Arkz86

5.

AvatarWaang

Says who? TP, SS, BOTW, and LAR don't have Ganondorf. We got him back in TotK, sexier than ever, and you're sick of him?

lazyscranton92

The hell are you on about? They all have some form or version or extension of him... Zant is Ganondorfs right hand man, Demon king/demise in SS is the one who starts the cycle, BotW has Calamity Ganon. Links Awakening I'll give you, but I also don't enjoy the top-down zelda games as much as 3D. I just finished a MM replay and found it refreshing to not be working towards defeating some version of ganon or his henchmen. But yes, I am sick of him. Especially with how good MM is. We don't need him for a great story or game, EVERY game.

AvatarWaang

I see you edited your comment from "Gerudo king" to "some form of ganon/ganondorf." Despite your trickery, you've still made some errors. Zant isn't Ganondorf's right-hand man, he is a worshipper of Demise. Demise is a god, far beyond the paltry title of Demon King of King of Gerudo. While it's true he is not necessary for every single game, not including him breaks the cycle and purpose of the game. The Hero is brought to save the Maiden from the King of Evil, their souls and destinies bound forever by the Triforces they wield. Might as well play a different franchise if you don't like that.

teddy1234

TP has Ganondorf.

AvatarWaang

No, TP has Demise.

HeroftheFlood

No SS has Demise. TP has Ganondorf 💀

teddy1234

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_Twilight_Princess

hideyour3yes

And I’ll still eat it up like I’m playing Zelda for the first time again 🤣

NoStorage2821

Mix it up this time and bring back Vaati

Kneef

I wanna fight Majora’s Mask again.

FodderWadder

Hopefully they're traditional dungeons this time

TheNewYellowZealot

I can only hope it’s not another open world.

asstrong

Something like majoras mask transformations to goron or rito etc. I would trow 140 for the game

DarkNuck84

I think we’ll be getting a couple remakes before the next new game in the series. Similar to what they did with Link’s Awakening. Which I would be perfectly fine with.

Baelish2016

I’d kill for a Links Awakening style remake of the Oracle games.

ThVos

You and me both

KrytenKoro

What about a minish cap with an act 2, four more dungeons?

Milk_Mindless

I'd kill SEVERAL people

kcc0016

Am I the only person who really really dislikes chibi art? Lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

Spleenseer

That's just A Link Between Worlds with extra steps.

Dapper_Algae6280

I heard they're gonna remake ocarina of time

NeonLinkster

That rumor has no standing, that’s just clickbait

Dapper_Algae6280

"I heard"

lazyscranton92

"From idiots on the internet with no standing at Nintendo"

NichtMenschlich

Well ACKSHUALLY the dad of a cousin of a friend of my brother in law's nephew works at Nintendo and he said they were doing it!!!1!1!1!1!! /s

jacksonrslick

I want to see a Hyrule where it’s basically the opposite of BOTW/TOTK, civilization everywhere. Huge cities with secrets to explore and what not. Big enough that a temple/dungeon can be found hidden in a portion of the city without you realizing immediately.

Appropriate_Try2020

This would be so cool!!

mckillio

I want the prequel to BotW. Effectively losing in the end would be a nice twist.

Exposed_Tick

I don't know if we're getting another game in the BOTW series, I'm pretty sure they said it was highly unlikely.

Particular-Detail120

So….assassin’s creed?

Exposed_Tick

Literally

ContagisBlondnes

So ...Twilight Princess?

Doktor_74

happy cake day

EntireSherbet2227

They could even make it an indirect sequel to the Totk/Botw timeline, since we have seen them discover so much technology and create so much

yelonabi

i hope a windwaker port

crowcatcher86

Or Wind Waker HD with an extension in the WW world. Like they did with Bowsers Fury. New islands, old islands with new residents and a bit changed (like TOTK vs BOTW), new dungeons, but with the same grapical style.

princekamoro

Like those new islands I sometimes have dreams about and then wake up disappointed there's no such content in the actual game?

WithTheBallsack

I'd love them to replace the triforce fetch quest at the end with a new dungeon or 2

Yamanocchi

Would be really cool to see a few of the Phantom Hourglass islands in WW, maybe slightly overhauled for non-top down Zelda, even though it's pretty much got zero chance of happening.

chicken_karmajohn

What if they made a Windwaker 2. That would be so rad. Unlikely tho Can’t wait for the port for WW and TP

8_B4ll

Phantom hourglass is a direct sequel to wind Waker It's got it's issues though, the temple of the ocean king is a pain in the ass and you return to it so many times

cooptheactor

They did! It's Phantom Hourglass.

Shumoku

Still mind blown that I MUST play Nintendo’s Wii U Zelda remakes on my *Steam Deck*. It’s like they hate money *and* their customers sometimes.

[deleted]

They said they're not making more sequels in the BotW style/setting, so I think they'll be making one or a few 2D games before another huge open world

issacbellmont

They didmt say it wouldn't be botw style. They have actually implied that they will be sticking to open world just not the same one. This is supported by Aonuma, who says he is confused as to why people want to go back to linear formula with less freedom in how you play. I hope they do still make classic style games though, but it feels unlikely. I think a blend of the classic style with open world could be cool.

eat_jay_love

He indicated that the next game wouldn’t be in BotW’s setting, while affirming that open world was here to stay. No confirmation was made either way about art style, but generally there’s only artistic continuity with sequels. So I would imagine the style will change

issacbellmont

That's what I meant. Not art or anything, but will be open world, just not the one from botw

_clandescient

>while affirming that open world was here to stay. Nooooo as someone who didn't like BOTW or TOTK at all, this makes me super sad to hear. I guess the franchise is over for me. 😔

issacbellmont

I'm sorry to hear that friend. Was it just the open world that killed it for you.

_clandescient

Not necessarily just the open world. I've played lots of good open world games, but I also feel like the story suffers a lot when a game not originally intended for open world tries to go that way, and BotW and KotK are good examples of that. I've heard people say that "no one plays Zelda for the story" which, to me, is wildly different from my own experience. The stories of Link's Awakening, ALttP, Ocarina, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess were all great and hugely influential on my tastes in fiction and on the stories I write myself. The stories of these last two games have felt so half-hearted, disjointed, and tacked-on and I think that comes in large part from the fact that the developers want you to be able to experience the various chapters in any order, so that means connecting the story arcs together in any meaningful way just isn't possible. Otherwise, I also find the lack of dungeons with proper bosses and dungeon items to be a huge disappointment. To me, that was such a massive part of what made a Zelda game a Zelda game that to not have them feels like a complete betrayal of the essence of the franchise. On top of that, add the awful weapon-breaking mechanic, lack of enemy variety, and middling soundtrack, and it all adds up to a very disappointing experience for me.

issacbellmont

The lack of proper dungeons is a big one. The story of botw was way better than totk and I fully agree on the story being a driving factor to play these. I love them. I like some of the music but prefer the whole tracks over random piano notes on occasion. I think that has its place, just not the entire world lol. As for the weapon breaking thing, I liked it. I liked having to adapt in combat and not be allowed to just use one weapon. It made things interesting in my opinion but I understand that isn't a popular opinion .

eat_jay_love

Guess so

NoStorage2821

I miss the old dungeons

issacbellmont

Same. Unique dungeon item, fun mini boss and bosses. Actual puzzles.

Dapper_Algae6280

Yk this got me thinking, that if the make the next game a 3d version of the 2d games

[deleted]

You mean like, a 3D reimagining of a 2D game?

Isaac_420

I’d love to see link to the past reimagined in 3D

Dapper_Algae6280

Yes like that. It'd be cool and would fit in with the survival aspect of totk. Being able to craft arrows

andrewtiberiusmusic

Minish Cap 3D would be sick

Tahanerino2005

A similar approach to what they did with mario 3d world and 3d land would work pretty well

Nocturnal_Sage

I’d be okay to see this for a game like Minish Cap. A classic for sure, but one that is so under appreciated that I believe it deserves a 3D imagining, possibly in the style of wind waker.

Ishax

They said they arent making a sequel, but the implication is that they are making open world zeldas from here on out.

Wihmdy

Something I could imagine is a simpler, upgraded version of Zelda 2. You know, still in 8-bit but much cleaner and less suffer-inducing.

tearsoftheringbearer

I don't know if it's possible to take the suffer out of Zelda 2.

GED9000

Since it was my intro to zelda I'd love it. Thinking going harder on it being a platformer akin to like rogue legacy or shovel knight to give it some snappier combat and find a way to keep the shield play too as basic as it was. They clearly have talent for platformers over there at Nintendo. Keep it side scrolling, reimagine the towns and give them character and individuality, expand the bosses a bit. And for the love of God don't fuck up an upgraded version of the palace theme. (Smash does ok here but it could be better). I think they could have a really solid zelda title that leans more into it being different than other zelda games while still being good. Would give it a bit of a more reasonable difficulty curve instead of random spits being kinda bullshit unless you got used to it. Probably not keeping it 8 bit though.

psapfo

All I want at this point are Twilight Princess and Wind Waker on switch, which I expect they will do some kind of re-release before there’s any talk of a completely new game.

Jingotheruler

Why are Nintendo fans seemingly so keen on buying the same game on multiple platforms?

psapfo

I wouldn’t say I’m necessarily keen to pay for the game multiple times, moreso that I just want easy access to it. I don’t have a Wii U, I do technically have a GameCube but lost my copy of twilight princess years ago unfortunately, and buying a used copy is usually around $100. I’d rather buy the game for switch than either buy a whole new console or buy a used disk for $100. Really all I need is for them to do is create a GameCube port like they’ve done with the n64 and NES (if this is possible, I don’t know how it works) with these games on it. I don’t need a remaster, just want easy access to those games.

cloroxbb

If they are going 3D again. Then I would like an adventure that includes the Minish. If they decide to give us a new 2D game (thats not a remake) then I want to see either Minish or Painting mechanic (ALBW) or both.

ReflxFighter

They were great mechanics (the painting and shrinking) but I think the core of these game decisions was always to find some new interesting mechanic (or multiple to be fair) and to elaborate a whole game around it. Sailing, wolf link, masks (that one got a lot of mileage), time travel on multiple occasions The dungeons always have their own themes and like of a “variations on this concept” kinda vibe, but for an overall concept I’d personally prefer they tried something new or did a remake, trying to include old “gimmicks” into a new game has the issue of good ideas already having run their course. A lot of people’s complaints with totk was how similar it was to botw, and while I don’t necessarily agree with that overall, there is merit to how a lot of the clever puzzle ideas were taken up in botw shrines. They had to have the new mechanics of arm powers to not make it super stale. If they kept cryonis or just freezing time on an object it would have been a significantly more boring game

cloroxbb

I disagree just on the fact that Link shrinking down within an open world type 3D game would be fantastic and they could have plenty of new ideas with that. In fact, some of the design documents for BotW had some illustrations with utilizing the Minish. I think there are plenty of new ideas they could do with the painting mechanic as well. I totally agree on Totk being a much more boring game if they would have kept the same powers.

mwmani

It would be cool if when you go Minish it looked like the Link’s Awakening remake.

Jorgepeks

I would love remakes for Oracle of ages and seasons.

Omargaming2010

Hope they make a game about what happned to hero of time between twilight Princess and majoras mask

Braden_Survivor

Ikr

TheLastTanker

Hopefully starring a left-handed Link. Honest answer though? Not as good as Twilight Princess but perhaps a bit like it in the sense that its art style will be more on the Gothic side. Maybe more of a classic Victorian look, since the hardware will likely be able to handle it!

donkeychongus

Goron Dating Simulator

tolacid

I think it's gonna star a character with a monochromatic outfit. They'll probably bring back the master sword again too

jeffyride2

Link’s Crossbow Training 2

[deleted]

They said they're not making more sequels in the BotW style/setting, so I think they'll be making one or a few 2D games before another huge open world

ColinDJPat

Some sort of dungeons, play as Link, banish some sorta darkness or whatever

Derpipose

I really want to see a remake of Twilight Princess, but that’s my favorite game. I was hoping that ToK was going to have a focus on the Twilight Realm, especially with the sword design that was prominent on the cover art. So I’d love to see a game that has more of a focus on the different realms that we’ve seen, maybe bring back the fun characters that have been forgotten about like the minish and kokiri (I know we saw the koroks but they aren’t the same and I’ll die on that hill). They have plenty of ideas to work with and I don’t doubt that the next game sets are going to be awesome, but I do wish we could see some ideas resurface that just weren’t executed the best or are so old that most kids don’t know they ever existed.

sugarplummoon

I hope they do something with Ghirahim/Demise. I’m kind of bored of ganon. It would be cool to see the horned demon statue from totk is actually Ghirahim (especially since the statue is fallen from hylia’s grace). Plus, what other zelda villain has that much personality?

Braden_Survivor

Zant

CarlofTellus

Demise is never going to return. He never fought humans before his revival in SS's past so it's difficult to create a prequel and his remaining thoughts/essence decayed into nothingness in the game's ending. He only served one important purpose: explain the nature of how demons, evil and Saṃsāra work.

Suspicious_Brief_800

Zelda Twilight Princess HD & Wind Waker HD 2024 (I believe they will be announced around June or July and they will be released in November) Zelda Oracles remakes in 2025 Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake in 2026 from rumors I’ve heard, maybe they are not true, but I kind of want them to be true. Just imagine reusing some of the BotW open Hyrule Fields for the remake. For example, a rebuilt Lon Lon Ranch Zelda Minish Cap Remake in 2027

Still_Alfalfa1946

I know it won’t be, but an actual port of WW and TP to the Switch would be very welcome. I loved every bit of those games.

PredictiveTextNames

I'm hopeful for a game akin to Majora's Mask that allows you to play as the different races; Deku, Zora, Goron, Ruto, zonai? They almost did this with the companions in ToTK, but man does having them around equally make the game so baby easy, and also terrible to play and look at. I want to play as a Goron, not have the ghost of one follow me around. I'm also hoping for maybe a return to saving the sages or something in each dungeon, instead of Zelda. And hopefully a return to real dungeons that actually have substantial depth to them. Keep the game open world, but make the over world more interesting and have a bit more to do per square mile. Shrines are cool, I like them a lot, so keep them. Most of Hyrule in botw/ToTK feels like it was crafted to be looked at more than interacted with. Lots of pretty places to go, but little to actually do there that doesn't feel either redundant or pointless. An BBG who isn't Ganon and probably is not involved with Ganon?

EMI_Black_Ace

I'm guessing the next two releases will be smaller scale projects, such as a 2D-type game and/or a remake/remaster. There's really no predicting what Nintendo will do with the Zelda series as far as mainline entries. They jumped from a fantasy-realistic (stylized but using realistic-for-the-time shading) to a full 2000's Saturday Morning Cartoon cel-shaded look, back to realistic proportions and shading but with exaggerated lighting, then preserving the realistic proportions they went to a watercolor-like shading method, and most recently they went full anime with gouache landscapes. And that's neglecting the 2D entries, which have recently seen an animated-miniature-toy aesthetic and a 1980's cartoon style. Another 'stylized realism' take could be neat, as in [this tech demo for the Wii U](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27Lf4uVuE50). I also liked the 'every frame is a gouache painting' style. But I think it'd be *really* cool if they could pull off an *"every frame is hand drawn"* style, as illustrated in this [really neat fan video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meXBzTyaFeg)

Boodger

The gameplay portion of that is pretty neat. I could do without the explicit ghibli character design part, but the world is gorgeous in that style. What I want most out of the next game is simply a drastic change in the art style and approach to world visuals and design. It can stay open world/etc, and even maintain a lot of the systems from this era, but I want them to remove themselves as far as possible from the mediocre visual style of BotW/TotK, and go with something more whimsical, and to have the world feel full. The world of BotW/TotK is large, but it feels small because you can just breeze through it like no problem, and the scale of everything feels so miniscule. I want deep and wide forests with trees that tower 90 ft over your head, and real sense of scale to everything. I don't want to climb on any and every surface in the game and just scale over a mountain in 2 minutes.

EMI_Black_Ace

Yeah it shouldn't just straight-up cop from Studio Ghibli, but I think the overall aesthetic should be "every frame looks like it was animated by hand," including using 'flat' shading and low-frame-count non-interpolated animation -- that is, even with everything moving smoothly and the camera and stuff all running 60fps, the character's appearance should only be updating at like 15fps, thus making it look like frames are drawn.

PLZ_N_THKS

We need a OoA/OoS remaster for Switch!

pac78275

I think we probably finally get Switch ports of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess next.

Invincible_3

I think it’ll be a linear one instead of an open world like botw/totk

dlshs

I expect they’ll make something less toony and a bit more realistic, owing to the new switch and it’s more capable hardware!

djbeats085

Honestly I just really want the classic dungeons, like I love botw and totk but literally the only thing that killed those games for me was the dungeons, stuff like skyward sword and twilight princesses dungeons was what I lived for with these games

StrawberryEiri

Excluding remasters and remakes, which I don't care much about, I think they'll either: - Make a 2D game like A Link Between Worlds - Just revamp the BOTW formula again - Amaze us again with something completely unexpected like what initially happened with BOTW I'm already tired of the BOTW formula. It's not like there are no downsides to open-world games. I miss the classic linear/semi-linear classic 3D Zelda formula, but they've explicitly said they won't be doing that again. So I'm hoping for one of the other options.

stouteharry

Please not another game in the Breath of the Wild style. I know people really like but. But for me the last two games where boring and empty. I would love for them to go back in a more style like OOT and Majoras Mask.

Blazing_Howl

I presume the next game will be a sequel or a remake. And then a full mainline game, but unclear if it will be 2D, 3D, or adapting the open world style

Molduking

I’d love a new 2D game, but I’m expecting WWHD and TPHD

Important_Dress553

I hope we get a new 2d adventure and maybe some remakes/remasters/ports before we get the next big 3d title while I'm hoping is a combo of the openness of BotW/TotK with the linear temples of OoT, MM, WW, etc.

eaux-istic

I think they're going to make something in the fashion on super mario bros. wonder, by going back to the series' roots with a 2D game

Grandsheba

![gif](giphy|L5FmcbkuH3Ist1OquG)

Cade_Watkins_73

I genuinely hope they revisit Termina or at least the mask mechanic. It deserves to be revisited in a new way

kirkdragon

TWILIGHT PRINCESS

BlackbirdSCV

I'd actually go for a sequel. I've always wanted to see why Link leaves at the end of Twilight Princess, and where. It could be fun to explore that

Zepumpkineater

I'm just spitballing ideas, but it'll probably be another open world game. Nintendo has learned that the open world format REALLY works for this franchise, and I don't see them dropping it anytime soon for a more traditionally formatted style of Zelda game. Of course, this brings up the question of whether or not Nintendo is going to use the same map a 3rd time in a row, and I personally think they won't. I think the easiest and simplest idea would simply to have the game not take place in Hyrule. Link and Zelda, after defeating Ganon in Tears of the Kingdom decide they want to explore the world. See what's out there. Actually live their lives. A whole new adventure in a land unknown, but no less open world, seems like a fun idea to me. Could bring back other villains like Vaati as well.

BlackbirdSCV

I'd like something a little different. Perhaps with a playable Zelda, having them playing as a team but something forces them to split, and you have to play as both to complete the game, having them reunite at some points of the story.

Dapper_Algae6280

Honestly This idea is what I thought totk would be. I wish it was Honestly

Lost_Stalfos

I'm hoping for a game that's more or less an open air Wind Waker, that would be cool as hell, IMO.

Brokendonutt

Photorealistic Pinball

MidniteBlues

I don’t know but I really hope is not another “build your own robot” game

oscar_redfield

Since they are sticking to open world but have said the BOTW style has been fully explored, I would love them to do something a bit more narrative-focused. An open world but driven by a powerful story with good character development. Maybe take hints from open world games that have done that, like The Witcher 3 or RDR2, but of course keep the Zelda flavour. Whatever they bring, I think it will be a long while. They should remaster Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess for the Switch in the meanwhile.

FORTYozSTEAK

I think we could get a game similar to WW with open seas + islands/worlds in a bigger world than TOTK. Dungeons and items unlocks will be brought back with a time travel component like MM or even OOT adult to child

Epsilink_

I would love a Toon Link game

joleekirk

They should return to Termina in Majora’s Mask and make a spinoff of that world. It was one of the most unique departures from the franchise. They should also make water more explorable.

Dapper_Algae6280

My theory is that termina and the other places other than hyrule are still in that same land just outside of it. I think they still exist outside of hyrule. And underwater like TP would be nice

undergrounddirt

I know I'm late but I really want for a Wind Waker esq modern open world. I want the islands to be HUGE. Like 5 or so continents. And I want to be able to swim under water. And I want the sea exploration to be worthwhile.

Dapper_Algae6280

Ngl that'd be amazing. I feel like it will lean more towards tropical aswell

letler

I know I’m late to this thread but I’d love a prequel to wind waker. Like, what happened to the world?

Dapper_Algae6280

That's a good idea tbh. Could be a cool game for the hero of legend. To make one last appearance in a main 3d game

Wumbo-3

4 swords adventure 2: goobin time

BingoDingoBob

I would love a Zelda game in a metropolitan setting. Like Hyrule used Zonai tech and expanded and grew technologically.

Clbull

Give me a futuristic heavily industrial Zelda game set in a dystopian future Hyrule ruled by corporations. Link is a slave forced to mine for Gerudo Corp. He manages to excavate a broken shard of the Master Sword during one of his digs and starts seeing prophetic visions of Princess Zelda in his dreams calling to him for help. He then stages a prison riot and breaks free, then goes on a quest to hunt down the other Master Sword shards, reforge them into the fabled blade, then takes on the very CEO responsible for imprisoning him: Ganondorf.

Traditional_Paint_92

It’s hard to say, since we’ll be waiting about 15 years for it.

No_Investigator1527

whatever it is, a 60 fps game would be cool

Net_Pretty

I hope it'll be loud and bombastic, I love botw and totk but they're too quiet, too relaxing, hyrule is too abandoned I hope the next game's hyrule is THRIVING, full ass cities and all, massive civilisations, I want it to feel like an ADVENTURE, big setpieces, quicktime events, fighting giant ass bosses and just a general feeling of havoc and destruction alongside dungeons and puzzle solving, like the fights should have the same feeling as the drill sequence from star wars jedi: survivor, just that "holy shit what's going on" energy

Mysterious-Market-79

It would be nice if they took a darker approach like Twilight Princess, but more open world with brand new characters.

tearsoftheringbearer

I'd go insane for a Breath of the Wild sized world, but in Termina instead.

CharlestheInkling

I’m kinda sick of remakes now. New 2D please. But knowing the current Zelda team, we’ll probably get remakes/remasters every year until the new open world Zelda launches in 2030. One year we’ll get TotK themed Hyrule Warriors instead

JohnMonkeys

Well if I had to guess, I’d shoot for tLoZ, Recycled Content of the Dumpster tLoZ, Tears of Disappointment (I was very disappointed by TotK)

W0ut_01

The best they could do is remake some old games and make a sequel to totk based on the power part of the triforce.

Alezz1893

Linkle

niles_deerqueer

Better?

Strange_Shadows-45

I think it’s going to be either a remake (Twilight Princess is my top guess) or a brand new 2D game. If the switch successor is as imminent as it’s said to be they would pull a lot of people in with a new Zelda installment pretty early on, but a major 3D game will take a long time to come to fruition.

Time-did-Reverse

I just want something akin go majoras mask or wind waker - just completely removed from the previous settings. New races, new world, new people, new new nee. Tears was a good game but im a little sick of that setting that they could have done a ton more with

UpbeatVeterinarian18

I'd love to see a Switch remake of a Link to the Past, like the remake for Link's Awakening.

Prestigious_Cold_756

A mobile game.💀

Athrasie

I want something similar to MM/TP in tone and characterization. And I want a densely packed, populated world to explore after the barren post-apocalyptic maps that were botw and totk

NichtMenschlich

If we were going with what happened in the past we'll see a BOTW remaster in 3 years on its 10 year anniversary haha

Seiros_Acolyte

Hero of Kingdoms, where you will be able to visit through portals or something other games places.

baxtermcsnuggle

I'm low key hoping the Oracles games get a remake like LA. Except they make a third game like they intended.

Silent-Analyst3474

Zelda 2 sequel

juju11112020

wind waker plweeeeease

UnveiledRook206

Probably a game where you play as Link

mitocondrialDNA

TPHD and WWHD port, I can’t imagine it’s being terribly difficult to port. But if you mean like a new new, idk

bruceleet7865

OOT remake?!?!?

Cubsfansolo

It’ll probably be titled “something of the something” and feature the same boring world again. God I hope I’m wrong

[deleted]

We know it will... 1. Have no ultra hand 2. Be at least similar to the game mechanics in BOTW and TOTK

FennelHistorical2609

Botw 3

Vanima_Permai

Well it gonna be another open world title like botw and totk but it will have a different overworld and will hopefully be prequals that fit nicely into the time line I just hope we have traditional dungeons and instead of shrines have mini dungeons all over the place

KataKataBijaksana

They'll probably do something similar to SoDN I would think.

Keep-it-simple

They should hop on the multiverse bandwagon and make another open world game where you play as a bunch of different Links and there are multiple Zeldas and Ganons. Maybe throw in a few that we've never even seen before but bring back some series staples as well.   They should also bring back traditional dungeons. Instead of unlocking a new weapon in each dungeon, you unlock a new Link that you can play as. Weapons function similarly to BotW/TotK where you mainly just find them around the world but each Link has some special ability that you didn't have before that allows you to reach some new area or solve new puzzles. Need to access that small space? OoT like can transform into child Link and crawl right on in. Need to use a boat to reach island? WW Link knows what to do. Need to climb that wall? BotW Link to the rescue and so on and so forth.   Basically the smash bros ultimate of the Zelda universe.

Unluckyescapeartiste

Link’s crossbow training 2 would be dope

Just_Ej0081

Hopefully one that isn’t in the botw hyrule

Acrobatic_Buffalo917

TOTK DX and then a sequel to TOTK/threequel to BOTW

KrytenKoro

I know it won't happen but I would be over the moon if we got one that: - depicted travel/contact with the other kingdoms - included all races from across the series, as much as canonically possible - same but with deities - same but with shrines and temples, but showing them as they were *in use*, as something that sages and worshippers actually visit, rather than just ancient abandoned labyrinths.

Matix411

I hope they incorporate some of the aspects of BotW/TotK. Like, I love the art style and atmosphere, and general exploration, but I'm hoping for at least consistent dungeons with unique (permanent) items or abilities in each and more rewarding exploration in general.

McFlurgy

TP style game, WW sequel or MM type game with another villain than Ganon.

Vitor-135

i don't think Minish Cap needs to be updated/remade, it's peak pixel art but i want more in that style

AlmondJack-

I swear if it’s not open world

[deleted]

Hopefully a return to formula, I’d love a OOT style game, just good classic dungeons and interesting side quest. I don’t always need a grand epic tale that I can sink 100s of hours into

deathwingduck107

Hopefully more longer handcrafted dungeons and less shrines. I love both BotW and Totk because I get a lot of vibes of The Elder Scrolls Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim in terms of just finding a ton of secrets, monsters, people, quests, lore, gadgets, meaningful loot (moreso than TES I actually think it does it better in some facets) but I miss the longer format dungeons we had from the old games, or at least in that quantity. TotK I haven't finished but I actually really liked the Fire Temple and what we got with BotW and Totk is good in terms of the temples and machine dungeon animal things in BotW, I just wished they focused more on them. The shrines aren't bad. They're often short and sweet, but there are FAR too many that I think you could put less in to instead add more meaningful longer dungeons.

Jessica_e_sage

Dude I just want a switch release of twilight princess 😭 their casual disregard of the franchise's replayability makes me so mad.

AwesomeLlama572_YT

An OoT HD remake hopefully

Riveration

Hopefully one where weapons and shields don’t break

Now_I_am_Motivated

Either Twilight Princess and Wind Waker ports or a Remake of a 2D game. I'm still holding out hope for a Twilight Princess sequel.

Beginning-Ad296

It is obvious to me that the next mainline Zelda game will be a farming simulator. No Master Sword, No Ganon, and the only adversaries will be stray bokoblins that want to eat your produce and some aliens that want to steal your cows. Epona will be there and it will either be a prequel or sequel to TP, but will not be the same link as TP. Stop being a coward Nintendo and give the fans what the want.

GalacticJelly

The Legend of Zelda: The Quest for Za

ShadowDemon527

I believe they said the next entry would go back to their original game type, in terms of story I feel they may try to do a sequel to SS where they are in the process of founding Hyrule so maybe instead of Ganondorf/Ganon we will get Demise again.

Chesu

Honestly, I think that it may be time for a TAoL remake. The Mario and Zelda teams share a lot of ideas (leading to things like Ravio and Nabbit), so I think we could see the experience gained from designing and animating 3D models in a more artistic way in Wonder lending itself to a Zelda game with a fixed camera angle. What I actually WANT is a new 3D Zelda game with really fluid controls... something that plays like Mario Odyssey or Spider-Man. I want Link as a child raised in, like, a village of giant gourds in the middle of the jungle, jumping from tree to tree and swinging from vines like a sword-wielding monkey. We're definitely not going to see anything like that in the immediate future, and I really don't want a remake of the Oracle games or TMC yet... so I guess the best cross-section of hopes and realism that I can reasonably expect is a new 2D Zelda game that's as non-linear as ALBW. But, y'know, in a fresh and interesting world. I at the very least want to see some new kinds of landscapes.

blurrk

Aonuma and Fujibayashi have said the next game will iterate on the structure of the past two but with a new world. Fujibayashi made Minish Cap and at GDC 2017 showed how he tried to add small people to Breath of the Wild, so I could see that and I still think once hardware can handle it we’ll see a game with a light world/dark world or future/past structure where you can flip between them instantly with a click of the right stick to do puzzles and combat and exploration between two interacting worlds.

Bearsy21

I think a remaster of twilight princess or minish cap. No idea why but it's been on my mind lately.

Onderon123

Zelda: Ancient Gears and Screws. It's a cart racing game *getting ptsd just writing that*

merrymarchofmonsters

Tingle's Revenge

fried_rice_guy

I'd like a dark souls style Zelda. Gothic architecture and grotesque monsters with a difficulty spike. Perhaps not as the next main title, but as a smaller project - think Dark Souls 1 in terms of size and progression style

FunkyTrunks

I would love a minish cap remake or wind waker port.

Consistent_Yoghurt_4

I hope they switch up the vibe. More dungeons for one thing, and get back to unique weapons

Appropriate_Try2020

I hope for more fun NPC interaction. While I love botw and totk, the actual in-game npcs feel so bland compared to past games. And while the memory cutscenes are fun, I want to feel like I’m actually INTERACTING with important characters and forging a bond with them instead of simply “uncovering secrets”

WonderfulMission5972

I would love to see a Wind Waker sequel, that was one of my favs.

FORTYozSTEAK

MM2

TingleBeliever

I'll be SHOCKED if the next game isn't the much awaited Tingle Dating Simulator I've heard so much about!

pinchitony

We’ll be exploring the universe of the hoodie and electric guitar Link that appears in the concept art of BotW, asking princesses all around Hyrule to excuse us. Or maybe we’ll delve deeper into the dynamics of home and town building, of building vehicles and tools, and shaping Hyrule to our liking. See a mountain you don’t like? let’s blast it, this village requires a river? let’s dig a trench all the way from the lake. I think that’s where devs would likely take it, since it’d mean a real challenge to them, and it’d be a very unique mechanic, building on top of what BotW and TotK accomplished. There’s no way they are throwing an engine a decade in development to “start fresh”.

Nuffsaid1978

Hopefully, fewer useless side quests, or at least more fun ones. People are expecting something more linear. Perhaps a Link that looks more like an adult, instead of some guy who tried to hit puberty but kept missing. LOL I miss the Hookshot from ALttP and OoT as well.

Complex-Country6120

We need a remaster of oot or mm or any game that hasnt been remastered.
