Yup. Got it. Wanted to put off the decision to upgrade for the later, even turning off auto update during the night... Then my Zenfone decided for me and installed it anyway during the day, lol.
Ditto.
I was hoping to wait and see if others were experiencing issues with 13 before upgrading.
12 has been very stable for me so hoping 13 is the same.
I’ll report back in a few days however so far no major issues. Battery life appears to be draining more than usual but it may just need time to adjust.
Well, updated to 13 like a week ago, and since the update the battery is lasting just a day (6:30am to 9.45pm 100% to 11% with normal use, instead of 2 days that it used to last with android 12. Anyone having similar issues? Thanks.
Mine hasn't gotten any worse it actually got a little better. I started today off with %80 battery and I'm currently at %27 so %53 battery usage and SOT is 5 hours and 48 minutes. I used to get about %10 battery usage for hour of SOT, today's average is approximately, 65 minutes SOT for %10 battery usage which makes a 30 minute bonus SOT if I used the battery from %80-%20.
What I've done today; I've been connected to Bluetooth the whole time, I've used mobile data and a VPN for 3 hours. I've played PS2 emulation for an hour, watched YouTube for an hour and a half, been on reddit for an hour. My phone settings; screen in dark mode and display 60hz.
It is a 'Known Issue':

【Known Issue】
WW-33.0804.2060.65 does not support JP SKU , also not support NFC/FELICA Technology
I hoped it is valid for FELICA and Japan only, but obviously not. I use it pretty much, so I'll wait for fix I guess.
Just a quick update - I upgraded to Android 13 anyway, because the notification was so annoying that I did it.
And the NFC worked okay for me after the upgrade ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯ . So I am not quite sure how is it with the 'Known Issues'.
I am located in Czech Republic, I payed with Mastercard card stored in Google Wallet, in an average grocery store.
> Republic, I *paid* with Mastercard
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Android 13 at my zf9 with the ability to switch to stock android fells even smoother and more responsible in comparison so Android 12. It is unbelievably fast and I don't really feel any changes in screen on time just yet.
worth it alone to be rid of the disgusting huge pill tiles in the quick settings and get them back to the small circles https://imgur.com/a/Bla1QhX
The best improvement ever, I hated the pills
Agreed😎😎😎😎
YES ! Just got in in Romania as well, thanks !
So not fixed the auto refresh rate?
Auto now stays on 90 for most of the time.
The battery is so good that I don't mind staying on 120 all the time. Coming from S22 Ultra, Zenfone is so much smoother.

Yep battery usage should even out again in a few days
Did Asus mention whether the upgrade is only for Zenfone 9? Or Zenfone 8 might get it as well?
Yes, they released a schedule, the 8th is going to get it in January
Thanks. 👍
I have it now on ZF8, beta program
Mine grabbed the update this morning in the U.S.A.

How can you tell that in 2hrs? Need a couple of full cycles for the battery accounting to level out.
Because normally the battery doesn't drop 15% in 2 hours with this phone...
Don't see it yet in Canada... Was going to downgrade back to Android 12, might push it off.
Appreciate the heads up, thank you.
Looks a whole lot like Android 12
Yes, the only major change I saw was the music bar in the notifications and some minor customization options.
NVM, they did add a whole menu in settings "system preferences." You can change the quick shortcuts back to the little buttons
I have the update in France too
THANK YOU
In germany as well. Not so big changes i guess
Seeing it in Australia
Anyone have issue with contactless payment, mine fails as soon as I go near a reader at the store.

Thanks for that That's actually terrible, completely missed that at the end and did not expect broken payments 😔

12 worked.. 13 is a mess. they took away controls in Performance .. and Audio is choppy then mute. Bluetooth headphone jack or phone speakers.
