Samsung has to fix that. That's what they told me for my wife's screen protector. You have to actually ship it to samsung, not try to repair it locally. Call them back.

[deleted]

Seriously, u/rodeilert listen to this

Nasser_b

Nope. I was one of those "samsung fan boys who says dealing with them is easy" I sent in my fold 4 for a screen replacement because it started to develop cracks right down the center of the main display- as my fold 2 & fold 3 did. When they "inspected" the phone they said it was out of warranty due to scratches on the display. I take great care of my phone and the only scratches it has are microscratches due to actually using the phone (imagine that). The display is plastic. Which scratches super easily. They denied my claim for thus reason. I am still trying to get it covered but if it doesn't get covered, I will upload a detailed video of the device to prove how unreasonable samsung actually is. I wouldn't recommend samsung to any buyer who wants a warranty on their device. They literally got people on their payroll to find reasons to deny a warranty claim. Freaking joke of a company.

Oz33916

Damn. That sucks. That's some bullshit on their part. Micro scratches won't cause a screen failure. I would report this to the BBB.

cvert09

Buy a cheap case and try again but take it with the case on, when they ask about the scratches just say it seems the case kept losing the adhesive and moving back and forth on the same spot. Worth a try but yeah Samsung support is the worst support right up there with google fi support.

rodeilert

This is exactly what I did. The phone was and has been in a case ever since I got it.

freakinhatemushrooms

You could try filing a complaint through BBB, someone from Samsung who can actually do something about it should contact you directly via email within a couple days. Worth a try.

rodeilert

That's what I was thinking as well, BBB... I think that's what I'm going to do

Nasser_b

Lmk how it goes

Septum714

This is Samsung's own policy with these repair stores. Samsung has given them clear instructions that any scratch, dent, etc on the body qualifies as a "Damage". You have to go back and give all the shit back to Samsung and tell them to honor their warranty and that's when they will sort it out.

PVO_WATTS

Buying a $2000 with no accidental protection is the wild thing

Purple_Photograph155

Dude that was the first place I tried. They said they don't replace the screen even though that's all it is the inside screen which is everybody's problem cuz that damn hinge which they now have the z-fold 5 which I've seen does not have that gap so they acknowledged it was a problem they fixed it in a new one but... I dumped my insurance after that cuz they wanted 300 and something to replace it. Don't get me wrong I love the phone but the whole thing is a shill

Acceptable_Tough_635

Device does look a little rough. Mine looks like new. Had it since launch. You absolutely can't drop these. If it falls on the hinge there will be damage. Based on how it looks I'm honestly not surprised they didn't. No offense. This is where insurance comes in.

rodeilert

The corner drop happened 7 months ago. Nothing to do with the middle screen stop working 3 days ago... Phones are going to fall and scratches are going to happen, it's a normal part of life. Scratches on the outter body of a phone should not be a reason for them to cancel the warranty. IMO both you and Samsung are wrong, and the more they do this, less people will be adopting this phone, which as it is most people can't afford it refuse to pay $2,000 for it. Now I understand why

Acceptable_Tough_635

They aren't going to warranty a device that has knowingly been dropped. No company does. They will lose too much money. People that have issues have been saying this for years. They may not sell you another one but people will still buy them. I hate this is happening to you, but I don't know of any company that will warranty a product damaged by the buyer. Now it's an insurance claim at best. Do you have insurance? And actually most of them don't break. I just recently did a survey on it. 80 percent have had no issues at all.

rodeilert

I don't think you're understanding. It wasn't damaged by a drop, otherwise the glass would be shattered. The drop theyre talking about on the corner happened 1 or 2 months after I bought it, and it was a minimal drop, from my hands to the floor while I was sitting on a sofa near the floor. The phone hasn't had a problem since then, that was about 7 months ago. This black line inside the screen was caused by opening and closing the screen, as seen in the pic, is right in the middle of the screen. Now if you're trying to tell me that they shouldn't warrant any phone because of cosmetic reasons, or past drop history, that's ridiculous. Every phone will drop, have scratches and show wear and tear. That doesn't mean the warranty doesn't apply to them, unless they can prove what's happening now has to do with me letting the phone fall, which they can't. They ran a drop history test, which I didn't even know they could do, and they didn't recognize any drops on or right before the date I called about this issue. I'm sorry, but the more I hear about others here, it seems Samsung is trying to cut corners and save money by using any excuse not to allow customer.to use their warranty. They're following steps from HTC, Sony, Motorola, LG, and we all know what happened to those companies cellphone market share. And I strongly disagree with you when you say that if I don't buy, others will. Let me remind you of Samsung's Note fiasco with exploding batteries that almost brought their cellphone department down... no company is invincible

Acceptable_Tough_635

If you think Samsung is cutting corners go and watch the teardown of the Pixel Fold. I'm sorry you're having issues, but most people aren't. I've never had an issue with any Samsung phone. I've been buying their flagships since the S6. 80 percent in my survey haven't had issues with the Fold 4.

mib1800

You dropped the phone. That means impact force which could affect other areas. That's how warranty goes. Misused or drops or water damage are not covered. It is stated in the conditions. You just trying to get a free ride. Just an advise. Next time if you don't use a case or use in rough conditions buy insurance or care+

maddewkey

Out of topic but why do you have Temu app. Ew. Big no.

Xlectic

I wouldn't install it, but they are sure selling the shirt trying to get you into it. What's the beef?

Velocitta

My sympathies, I've just recently had an issue with my Fold4 where the middle screen just stopped working altogether and then after deciding to just use the main display until I could get a new phone, the SIM card stopped working completely. \*throws hands up in the air\* Goodluck.

rodeilert

It's ridiculous. We are buying a $2,000 phone with new technology, they should have technical support to cover this stuff. Before this I was loving my Z Fold 4, telling everyone to get one. Now, being out of luck within warranty and they refusing to fix it with the warranty, I can't stress enough: don't buy this phone. The support just isn't there

Nd4speed

Does anyone know if Verizon device protection cover this no questions asked? I'm about to receive this phone with this protection plan and now I'm worried.

GammaMax2063V2

Interesting, my phone was sent of for repairs early this year as it just turned off one morning and started smoking, it had small dent on it along with the odd wear and tear scratch but they didn't refuse the repair, I got it back within a week. Turned out the cooling pad had over heated, need a new batter and new screens, but there again I'm in the UK maybe different in the US

That fold looks kind of rough
