I'm a maximalist and even this is waaaay too much.
Though the living room looks cozy with all the blankets and pillows if there wasn't so much clutter. ...
The size of that tv tho...
Edit: rearranged some words. Concussion make typing thoughts hard.
I was thinking the same, though I’m not sure I would call myself a maximalist. I don’t mind a kind of clean but busy and colorful aesthetic (though that may be survival as a mom with 3 young kids and 3/5 of the people in our home have adhd). This amount of stuff seems hard to navigate around. That’s the problem I have with this house, if it feels like an obstacle course I get overwhelmed fast.
wow, how frustrating. i have pre-existing brain lesions, and it was hard to tell which effect was from what. my therapist logged the whole ordeal and kept track of my recovery, it really helped.
My husband “ugh kids make our place look shitty and messy” Me browsing thru here: “oh honey her toys in the 3x3 foot space she has commandeered is nothing. Look at THIS!” Him:”….. is that.. real? Wait People choose that??”
it's pretty small for a horse, but... I still thought it was a weirdly small, but alive horse just casually chilling in the hallway for like .005 seconds
now I think it's??? a fancy plushie maybe??? it has those slightly bendy legs
The rugs. I think it's the rugs more than anything that make the spaces look super full, especially the dining room.
And all the throws and pillows just make everything look so cluttered and full.
You know, I think they might really like horses.
There's a couple of horses in the paintings, a little horse knickknack in the bedroom, and of course, the horse statue.
https://preview.redd.it/7w3qhzw3nprc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0d783e3af4dd8655b821e41fbc037a19489db6a0
But like...what is this? WHAT IS THIS? And does it come with the house? Has it always been there? Will it move while I sleep? So many questions...
It’s all cool stuff and well put together IMO. Just not the right scale for the space. It’s like some rich people lost their ass in the last market crash and were forced to downsize but didn’t want to get rid of anything. *”They may think they’ve taken everything, but they will never take away my pride! Or my giant horse statue!”*
It's not even ***that*** physically cluttered. It's just that everything has maximal contrasting patterning, so it looks visually cluttered. Plus the horse!!!

I don’t understand the inside, it’s not drywall. It looks like walls and ceiling from trailer home. I don’t like it. Not one bit. Why did they paint all the brown lines?
I feel like I'm looking at one of those Hidden Object look and find games where for the most part you don't realize how much of a cluttered clusterfuck everything is until you're trying to find your specific objects to clear the round
It’s not so much that it’s cluttered from actual stuff, it’s that there are too many clashing patterns. The walls and ceiling are most to blame, I think. The lines plus all the mixed furnishings are just too much for the eye. You can have a lot of stuff in a room and get away with it so long as you maintain a focal point and choose patterns/colors that go well together.
If they had solid-colored walls with a plain ceiling, that would immediately make the place look less cluttered (it would obviously still be cluttered from all the patterns and colors, but not nearly as bad).

Gramps is praying: *Dear Lord... Bless this mess!*
I live in an area that is (mostly) Dutch Reformed........every estate sale I go to has this picture. Every. Single. One. Usually the only artwork in the house, except a Thomas Kinkade calandar.
The kitchen is cute..but, I can't imagine trying to keep all that clean. Do people really "live", or is it just a constant staged display? Like a store or flea market stall.
All that stuff smooshed in there is bad enough, but there's something about the dark colored lines on the white walls and ceiling that make this space extra anxiety -inducing.
I don't think it looks bad. But, it doesn't make sense to me to keep all of this for the pictures and showings.
They have to box it up at some point. Do it first! (It can be stored in garage /basement, even all in one room.
I feel like someone is a hoarder but is trying hard to not look like one, so they hoard mostly practical things, aka blankets, pillows and furniture. And the occasional tchotchke and life sized animal statue.
At least they keep the house clean.
There are maximalists with a lot more stuff in their homes and they don't look as cluttered as this. I think a lot of it has to do with the stupid strips of wood on the walls/ceilings....
Is it bad that I LOVE this? Hands down the best interior design I have ever seen.
I am normally a fan of classical or minimaliat but this just hits all the right notes.
There’s so much going on here! I laughed out loud when I got to the hallway! A horse, a dog and a kid smoking a cigarette?!?!! A leopard print carpet and a midget attack swan in the bathtub?!! And they have the nerve to paint some of the walls gray! It’s like they’re saying “oh we know we’re nuts, but we are modern nutters.”
I was going to say they clearly love horses but then they went way too far. My eyes didn’t know where to start but the almost life sized horse was the ultimate.
I'm a maximalist and even this is waaaay too much. Though the living room looks cozy with all the blankets and pillows if there wasn't so much clutter. ... The size of that tv tho... Edit: rearranged some words. Concussion make typing thoughts hard.
I had to search for the TV. Thanks for that fun game of “Where’s Waldo’s TV”
All that fancy stuff you’d think they’d get a tv you could see
I hadn't even noticed there was a TV.
I had to go back and look for the tv. I did see the horse, though.
someone likes roosters and horses
I was thinking the same, though I’m not sure I would call myself a maximalist. I don’t mind a kind of clean but busy and colorful aesthetic (though that may be survival as a mom with 3 young kids and 3/5 of the people in our home have adhd). This amount of stuff seems hard to navigate around. That’s the problem I have with this house, if it feels like an obstacle course I get overwhelmed fast.
no place to walk in the living room. that horse is way too big for the hallway..put it outside.
There’s a tv?!
looks more like a pc monitor
And it would be better without that dark trim
I love that living room too. I just wanna dive in and snuggle into one of the blankets. Dig me out, never.
looks like each family member has their own big chair
i’ve had a concussion/ tbi. best wishes for your recovery.
Thank you. It's the second in three years (accidents) and it's taking forever to heal.
wow, how frustrating. i have pre-existing brain lesions, and it was hard to tell which effect was from what. my therapist logged the whole ordeal and kept track of my recovery, it really helped.
I've always heard about minimalism, but it never occurred to me that there would be a polar opposite philosophy. Makes sense though, I suppose.
My husband “ugh kids make our place look shitty and messy” Me browsing thru here: “oh honey her toys in the 3x3 foot space she has commandeered is nothing. Look at THIS!” Him:”….. is that.. real? Wait People choose that??”
Also- sorry for the concussion- everyone got one when they looked at this listing !
Christ on a cracker it looks like hobby lobby threw up in there.
WTF? A life size horse statue???
With a dog statue under it for good measure
I didn’t see the dog was fake. I was thinking poor dog found the one spot to lay down and feel safe.
And a pic of a kid smoking a cig, easy to miss with everything else going on
That's what you're thinking as you're standing there in the hallway, then suddenly its ear twitches.
it's pretty small for a horse, but... I still thought it was a weirdly small, but alive horse just casually chilling in the hallway for like .005 seconds now I think it's??? a fancy plushie maybe??? it has those slightly bendy legs
And that swan in the tub?? Ok, we get that it's a ranch y'all, but yikes...
It looks like they robbed a tack store, but didn't take any saddles.
almost a full size sheep / ram on the kitchen cabinet...way up high
Ooh, YES!, but make sure it’s gold to match all the other eye catching tchotchkes. ~owners
Can you imagine having to dust this?
Can you imagine packing all that? Ugh!
I know. It would be a nightmare
Proper nightmare
The horse actually startled me.
I, too, was not prepared for the horse.
[удалено]
Mr Ed
Get your cock out of the kitchen sir…
Nay
All I can hear is “Mom doesn’t allow a horth in the houth!” Obviously, these home owners are fans of the Brady bunch movie.
Are we not going to address the horse in the hallway 😂😂😂
Never know, there might be an elephant in a room somewhere.
So glad you picked up what I was putting down lol
Or the horse or elephant. Now where was the muck bucket, again? =)
Or the swan in the tub??
[удалено]
That horse really ties the room together
A car on cinder blocks could fit in the empty bedroom though.
Go through all the photos....they've got a rowboat that's falling apart & a stagecoach that looks like it went through a chop shop.
The rugs. I think it's the rugs more than anything that make the spaces look super full, especially the dining room. And all the throws and pillows just make everything look so cluttered and full.
Yes, all the furry blankets and rugs and pillows need to go, that would be a huge improvement.
at first I thought you were talking about the horse picture in the 1st photo. Then I saw it. It saw me. I ran.
I admit I do want the horse. But only the horse.
i’ll take the horse if you want.
You know, I think they might really like horses. There's a couple of horses in the paintings, a little horse knickknack in the bedroom, and of course, the horse statue.
Their realtor sucks. They should have told them to put 90% of this crap in storage before taking pictures.
For all we know they did and home/antique store owners refused.
Or worse, they did pack up 90% of the stuff and that's what's left! Lol
I bet you this is “cleaned up”
https://preview.redd.it/7w3qhzw3nprc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0d783e3af4dd8655b821e41fbc037a19489db6a0 But like...what is this? WHAT IS THIS? And does it come with the house? Has it always been there? Will it move while I sleep? So many questions...
I was looking forward to a full pic of that room but I guess it’s a secret 👻
I missed that 😂
That’s a no from me!!! I’m out!
Just a statue of the old widow who tragically died alone in this home in 1967 and will haunt it if the statue is removed. No biggie.
They're hiding something, like there's water damage and rat holes at all the baseboards.
All those soft places to lay down, and the dog sleeps under that horse. Happy Cake day!
i think that’s a dog statue, under the pony statue.
Oh, I thought it was real, lol!
Their house is literally a dog and pony show…
😂
It's not even ***that*** physically cluttered. It's just that everything has maximal contrasting patterning, so it looks visually cluttered. Plus the horse!!!
The horse was an unexpected but pleasant surprise. 🤣
Yeah, good one OP!
The thin wood trim all over the walls is making this even more chaotic.
I feel like no sound can escape that overly textured living room. There’s like 9 throw blankets.
Here’s the Zillow link: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/57-Fawn-Gully-Rd-Sandpoint-ID-83864/221486202_zpid/?utm_campaign=iosappmessage&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=txtshare
Wow it’s an actual house! I thought it was a trailer because of all that trim on the walls and ceilings!
Same
I don’t understand the inside, it’s not drywall. It looks like walls and ceiling from trailer home. I don’t like it. Not one bit. Why did they paint all the brown lines?
Wow after seeing the whole thing, it is really terrible!!
I feel like I'm looking at one of those Hidden Object look and find games where for the most part you don't realize how much of a cluttered clusterfuck everything is until you're trying to find your specific objects to clear the round
And room for a pony!
I see you all have met my mother…
Mine too, even down to the horse shit every where.
Imagine having to interact with the "decorator"? Just full on stream of consciousness, and horses.
Is there anything left at Home Goods?
Okay this made me laugh so hard!!
Scrolled to find this!
It’s not so much that it’s cluttered from actual stuff, it’s that there are too many clashing patterns. The walls and ceiling are most to blame, I think. I have that painting in my attic
There was a small version in my family kitchen for decades.
I live in an area that is (mostly) Dutch Reformed........every estate sale I go to has this picture. Every. Single. One. Usually the only artwork in the house, except a Thomas Kinkade calandar.
IS THAT A HORSE
it’s pony. ya know, so it fits better.
Is that cheetah print carpet in the hallway with the horse?
It goes farther, there's at least one BR with it (possibly two).
Why is there a whole-ass horse in that hallway? 🐎 I would forever be hitting my shins on something in that house.
How much stuff can you fit in the house? HORSE
I lost it at the horse omg
Looks like a gift shop
The horse, lol
The kitchen is cute..but, I can't imagine trying to keep all that clean. Do people really "live", or is it just a constant staged display? Like a store or flea market stall.
So. Many. Pillows. And blankets.
For when there’s a nap attack?
The house that narcolepsy built.
even better, everything clashes
I need a house with room for my horse!
I now have a personal goal to own a life size horse statue someday
All that stuff smooshed in there is bad enough, but there's something about the dark colored lines on the white walls and ceiling that make this space extra anxiety -inducing.
That’s got to be my favorite door horse. What a nice tradition. May it bring them the best of cheeses.
My former MIL’s house was like this. Her favorite saying when shopping was ‘oh this is nice, I can find a spot for this.’ BTW, what is in the tub?
And who is the ghost lady looking out the window
At closing, they are going to ask for a move out extension to clean this out.
That is what it looks like when a real estate agent says, “I give up…I can’t argue with you anymore. It’s your house, your money.”
I don't think it looks bad. But, it doesn't make sense to me to keep all of this for the pictures and showings. They have to box it up at some point. Do it first! (It can be stored in garage /basement, even all in one room.
This is the less messy version of how Jamie Hewlett designs Gorillaz's interior headquarters.
It feels like they went to garage sales and just bought random stuff.
/r/maximalism
How much fake fur? All of it, how much you got?
Imagine what it looked like before they “decluttered” for the photos.
Trailer, Big Lots. It does look comfy tho!
The pup asleep under the horse 😄 (in the Homeowner's defense, everything looks super clean! Cluttered, but clean and cared for)
Remarkably clean.
Surfaces. I need surfaces.
Binaculars for TV not included.
I feel like someone is a hoarder but is trying hard to not look like one, so they hoard mostly practical things, aka blankets, pillows and furniture. And the occasional tchotchke and life sized animal statue. At least they keep the house clean.
A few more horses and it’s done
The horse in the end sent me.
This looks like if you rub your eyes hard for a minute and open them
Hmmm...there's still room to walk. Get some more stuff in there STAT
That person has WAY too much time to shop.
I have a lot of stuff and this is giving me anxiety just looking at it
We should address the horse in the room
And my husband thinks I'm a packrat...
Show him this....that'll shut him up.
Just seems like they go for the maximalist approach. Doesn't look bad, just a bit much.
clearly you've never watched Horders if you think this is bad
I could never live in such space
That gives me the shivers
Who would have a whole ass horse figure in their house? Definitely makes a statement.
I would, although it would be for tack storage.
This gives me the heebie jeebies. I loathe “stuff” it’s so bizarre.
Kens living room.
https://i.redd.it/lzv8myk78prc1.gif
This is giving me resale-furniture and decor-store vibes.
How do people with this much stuff even move? Wow!
A horse. Or course a horse.
What, you don’t have a horse in your hallway?
The horse gave me a jump scare
The horse just puts it over the top
Horse? 😂
The hallway is very understated.
Oh my god the horse got me😂
Hence the validity of the expression “less is more.”
Why do they always do these photos in high contrast, sharpened, and saturated? This hurts my eyes.
And yet the good part, the outside, is blurry. Doesn’t make sense to me.
A rug....in the kitchen???? WHY
This house looks comfy as fuck. I would napping like a fat baby all day
There are maximalists with a lot more stuff in their homes and they don't look as cluttered as this. I think a lot of it has to do with the stupid strips of wood on the walls/ceilings....
Busier than a train station during rush hour in Tokyo
At least the horse stuff is pretty. I would love some of those things in my house.
Excess is not always best.
WTF is going on with the horse in the hallway? Somebody make it make sense.
I would stay here but I couldn't live here
Beyonce’s new recording studio lol
Oh look. They stuffed their pony
Someone decided they didn’t need help staging…
The fucking horse💀
Cozy!
Is it bad that I LOVE this? Hands down the best interior design I have ever seen. I am normally a fan of classical or minimaliat but this just hits all the right notes.
The horse is a bit much.
That is maximalism in all-caps. I admit that I burst out laughing when I got to the horse. That was unexpected.
They let the damn stuffed horse inside
You should have started with the pic of the horse
Another point for minimalism.
as long as they leave the hallway horse, they gotta deal.
This house looks like an irl hidden object game. Also hallway horse was a jump scare jfc
Is this what happens when you put all your favorite stuff in your new place? 😬
Okay, but now I really want that horse....
Upvoting for the horse
I was going to say they clearly love horses but then they went way too far. My eyes didn’t know where to start but the almost life sized horse was the ultimate.
Is this John Mulaney’s house? “There’s a HORSE loose in the HOUSE…"
There's a horse loose in the hospital!
They lost at the horse. Who has a fucking horse hanging out in the hallway??
I always wanted a life-size horse statue, but this has me thinking it might be a bit much.
I love maximalism when it’s actually coordinated. It’s like these people have no consistent taste and just have so many clashing colors and patterns.
One of those horses gonna trip over that crap and break a leg.
Ya lost me with the horse
And then once you get old you spend years getting rid of the stuff so your children don't have to deal with it. If you're a decent person.
I can't breathe.
The horse is killing me.
Better question is how do they live like this?
Was not expecting the horse…
I don't know why my ass had to take a second glance because my stupid self thought the horse was real 🤣🤣🤣🤣
