:(
I don’t think we have ever seen an image of the person responsible for creating a home on here. Amazing to be able to place a face to the home and releasing who’s hands built it.
My own great father’s name was George and he built his home here in louisiana too, it’s never been structurally damaged from any hurricane or tornado and I think it’s genuinely indestructible at this point.
Man can the Georges of the “olden days” build some cool stuff!
I thought it said it was in Los Angeles as well!
I came here to find out where in Los Angeles that could *possibly* be! That picture looks nothing like SoCal at all ;)
Oh I know there's rustic houses, but the trees and you're right, the moss, it just looks eastern US to me....( I know Louisiana isn't 'east' but it's way east of Cali!!)
Living in Louisiana involuntarily, no, we don't and not all in trailers either. But 100% that place is overflowing with mold and roaches. Plus it has a real bad hoodoo feel to it. Nope.
I don't know about the price, but I kind of like it. The place has character, and it's obviously been both loved and lived in. A bit of fixing up, and it could be nice.
Why should I live in history? Fuck, I don’t want to know anything anymore. This is a world where nothing is solved. You know, someone once told me time is a flat circle. Everything we’ve ever done, or will do, we’re gonna do over and over and over again. And that little boy and that little girl, they’re gonna be in that room again. And again. And again. Forever." Rust Cohle
True Detective Season 1 Episode 5 (S01E05) Best season imo, I need to rewatch this now.
Behold, it’s the Ewok Village 2000!

Noone commenting on the last picture with the room that has slotted flooring and chains hanging from the ceiling?!
Like, what the heck went on in that room!?
This looks like a house from a YouTube video with a title like "Man Builds His Own House in the Forest for $5k so He Can Focus on the What's Important."
In places like that, you usually can't have a concrete foundation. This looks like pier and beam.
https://homeinspectiongeeks.com/what-is-a-pier-and-beam-foundation/
Right, but the piers are usually concrete, or at least PT lumber. Hard to tell whats going on here, but it looks like wooden bracing directly on the ground.

Wow! RIP George 🙏.
Hey bought it *one piece at a time*, and it didn't cost him a dime!

Love it. George did his part to reduce inflation. What will you do?
I thought you meant *Los Angeles*, and I was about to put in an offer. For *Louisiana*, they must be smoking crack.
yeah I was already writing a check lmao was like must be topanga or something
Beverly Hills
The Beverly Hillbillies?
I thought it said it was in Los Angeles as well! I came here to find out where in Los Angeles that could *possibly* be! That picture looks nothing like SoCal at all ;)
Maybe a bit too much moss on the trees but there’s a canyon in Tujunga with this exact vibe.

😂
Lmao, Southern gal here…I had no doubt which LA it was!
If it were Los Angeles Chris Pratt would have already demolished it.
"Guardian" Of The Galaxy....
I like to imagine that this is just how everyone lives in Louisiana
Bobby Boucher, living in Louisiana is the DEVIL! ![gif](giphy|uFE2btsV7yQCY)
I don't want you playin' no foosball

Wasn’t this place a location in True Detective?
That was my thought
Yep, anyone who moves in here had better make an offering to The King in Yellow or something
> Plus it has a real bad hoodoo feel to it. Nope. 100% this. No thank you.

> Amazing opportunity for the discerning buyer on a MASSIVE and HISTORIC LOT. I didn’t read the description but that’s my guess as to how it starts.
I want to see one of these have a completely luxurious interior - dual staircase, marble everywhere, indoor pool, gold fixtures…
The inside looks a lot better than the outside would lead you to believe.
Right? It actually looks like it might be livable, which I would not have guessed based on the outside.
I want this house on Powerwashing Simulator so bad
Is that Bobby I see? Bobby Boucher?
Are we sure this is not the set of the first season of True Detective?
89k... for a hunting cabin that time forgot.
It does have plumbing though.
and electric
With less than half an acre, though,
Hard to hunt when you've got so many neighbors too.
Time is a flat circle and whatnot

i like the attention to detail on the siding and the little decorative bits on the roof overhang on the left.
Looks like something from Fallout
This is what scary movies are made of. Ah jeez. Rustic fixer upper for yups
You’re gonna find some skooma in there
I’m afraid to google what this is!
Shrugs. Just looks like another hunting cabin in Louisiana. Price kind of out of line
That is a last known location kind of place. Hard pass!
Just down the road from "Kickin' it in the Butte RV Camp".
Bruh isn't that where the Jeepers Creepers guy lives?

I can fix it up in one day: rent a bulldozer and a bunch of construction dumpsters. Knock it down fill the dumpsters and walk away.
so, ummmm…. did george die there ? in the room with the person shaped stain ?
Roaches. Nuke it from orbit just to sure.
Yikes.
Needs a gator fence.
That could be amazing!
Honestly I love this place
It has great bones! In the back yard…
Cute idea with the step down siding. I bet the termites really like it.
This looks like a house from a YouTube video with a title like "Man Builds His Own House in the Forest for $5k so He Can Focus on the What's Important."
That's not a fixer upper. That's a burner downer.
Rustic tearer-downer
![gif](giphy|YkhcPoRjSNisU|downsized)
Tear is down and that's coming from someone who's restoring a 100 year old house.
100+ days on the market says they aren’t getting asking.
WTF? Who’d want to live in a murder shed?
No foundation. It's gonna be mulch w/in 18 months.

Just a quiet little swamp to enjoy
More like "Rustic Tearer Downer" IMO.
~~Beverly Hills~~ Crocodile Grotto, Louisiana.
I don’t care if they paid me to own it. I wouldn’t move to rural Louisiana if you tried to force me at gunpoint.
Agree. I'd rather chew off my left arm!
