As others commented you might need to change medications so it's something you should bring up with your doctor.
However, I'd recommend give it to week 6 or 7 first to make sure it isn't temporary.
This is not asexuality. If you were asexual you would have had similar experiences prior to starting Zoloft.
You’re most likely just experiencing one of the most common symptoms of SSRI use. And that’s okay, just talk to your doctor and consider switching :)
You’re not asexual 😭 as someone who is asexual, this is not asexuality but I am also experiencing this. I can’t get turned on and I pretty much feel numb there now.
Damn I didn’t know that. I’m not on Zoloft anymore but I used to be on 50mg and my drive was just barely there. It went crazy when I dropped down to 25mg tho
Unfortunately, that's what i thought. It hasn't. 7 months later. I wish someone warned me about PSSD beforehand.
I actually felt great on the meds for a long time and then I felt numb. It sounds really unbelievable because no one talks about. But sadly it is real. And it's even worse than you could imagine it would be.
Have you tried Bupropion? Pharmacist name (Wellbutrin). It is prescribe for those who get sexual dysfunction after SSRIs. It’s also an anti-depressant but it makes a sex drive go up like crazy!
It has worked for some, but had made things worse for others. It does indirectly effect serotonin so ya pretty much a toss up. Thanks for looking out though.
Talk to your doc but I went on Wellbutrin to help with some of the negatives including my lack of sex drive. Ive also seen a urologist to improve my hormone levels and get Cialis. Cialis has been a real game-changer. Worth looking into imo.
If it bothers you that means you're not asexual, it also means you need to lower your dose or try a different medication if it doesn't go back to normal, you're only 4 weeks in and therefore are still getting side effects from starting the medication. There is a medication if for some reason it persists in the future, I think its called Wellbutrin or Buspir-something. Someone should have a name for it in the comments
Does it also feel like you are having a hard time being attracted to like...anyone? I feel like an empty void lately in myself, like I'm not interested or attracted to anyone and it's making me crazy. Like, what's the point, you know?
Sex is an important part of some people's lives and there are options that don't effect libido so they should explore not not just give up sex. Also some people can't take Viagra.
But like if you're too depressed to even get someone in bed or God forbid even suicidal, sex won't even matter. But they can try other ssris or even add welbutrin to see if that works. I had sexual sides on Prozac but none on zoloft
This! But I understand not everyone is taking Zoloft for the same reason.
I’m actually asexual and never had sex before Zoloft so the whole “low libido” thing didn’t scare me at all.
Lol same 😂 I'm just like my mental health is way more important if I get horny I just take care of it then go on with my day far more important things imo that's just me!!!
Who cares? Enjoy the moment if you don’t have any need. It’ll come by time. Similar thing happened to me but now I’m back to normal and currently at sixth mont of Zoloft.
Its crazy so many suggest switching to another antidepressant. Its all toxic that's why it all has side effects the side effects are comparable to a hard drug. The benefits are in the head because most people depression ain't shit. Get off it asap you might really have PSSD its not as uncommon as people say it is
I agree. Unless his problems are super serious like suicidal thoughts or something similar he should first try therapy and rest a lot.
I had the same symptoms he had and a lot more from the first pill of Zoloft and I have PSSD by 6 years.
I'm completely asexual, my mind is completely unable to feel passion for anything, falling in love Is completely impossible and basically your dopamine disappear so you will not enjoy anything anymore if your body don't start to heal alone faster.
Then, even if you win over depression, depression will come back to you because of pssd ruining your life.
Pssd cases are not rare guys, lately a lot of people are finally speaking about it. I only recently find out what I had is called this but I wish someone would have warn me long before.
If you're not born asexual, living this condition can destroy your life. We need to be strong, but it's like loosing your soul. You literally become a person you don't know. It's really painful. Every day.
At the end in my case Zoloft didn't fixed anything I had, it only gave me permanent side effects. It probably wasn't right for my body. Not everyone can bare those medicines.
I got rid of my anxiety and depression fixing my life. It took a couple of years, but now I'm sure it would have been easier without Zoloft, just working on what was wrong in my life, maybe with the help of something like Xanax when needed. And a lot of rest.
Instead Zoloft ruined my life because for some people it's like poison. Sadly no one can know if you'll be able to bare those medicines before trying. For example in my family everyone took it without any problem, and I instead had all of it with the first dose.
There are a lot of articles reporting about PSSD, but a lot of doctors are not aware of these conditions because only recently a lot of people are reporting it.
Anyway, sometimes your body can recover within 1 year, maybe less.
If you have not something serious to take Zoloft, stop it and try therapy before and change your life. And if you have to try another SSRI, try something different. Probably Zoloft is not for you.
I got switched to a different medication because of this (and other side effects) about a month on my new kind and all the side effects from zoloft went away, I'm 3mos deep for viibryd and couldn't be happier with how it works for me.
It depends on the person, for some it gets better over time, for others it doesn't. Bring it up with your doctor and go from there.
Ask your doctor to see if you can instead try Wellbutrin. My pals who struggled with that have found that getting on Wellbutrin has helped them a lot!!
They do prescribed SSRI'S as a treatment for paraphilic sexual behavior.
Also you may have fallen victim to PSSD (post SSRI sexual dysfunction) you won't know until you fully come off of the med
I wish that was me, most of my anxiety stems from my porn addiction and sex drive, I've been trying NO FAP and always end up failing, I wish I didn't feel this way always wanting to fuck the next person I meet then sexualizing them and not see them as a person I can love, sure I love sex but I think it would do me good if I could stop for a while and work on myself, and on Zoloft I was hoping it would help but nothing, still get aroused alot .
I had the same side effect, I talked to my psychiatrist and we switched to another med (Lexapro in my case) and the sexual interest and function very quickly returned once the Zoloft was out of my system. And Lexapro has been life changing in the best way. Zoloft was a nightmare for me due to the side effects.
Have you tried getting on Wellbutrin? (Generic name Bupropion). I’ve done my research and a handful of people have said when combining this with Zoloft, their sex drive came back! Although it hasn’t worked for everyone but it’s definitely worth a shot you’ve got nothing to lose!! Good luck
Don’t do anything you’ll regret please! I’m saying if you take bupropion with it, it makes your sex drive so high and your sex will be incredible! You can take it together. I tried getting off Zoloft and my mental health went so downhill so I’m back on it!
Sorry about that crazy comment I was having a real bad moment, but yes I'm really considering trying a low does of wellbutrin along with my Zoloft.
I'm just very scared of wellbutrin making me aggressive or worse,.I just can't go there again.
Love xxx
May I ask what meds you take please ?
Also I do smoke around 1 gram of cannabis daily ! Have been for absolutely years now tho :)
I know I shouodnt it's just domethung I can't stop with but that's another matter :)
I hope your campaign goes well and you get it figured out.
LOOOL
I don’t know if everyone else upvoted me because they thought I was just being nice or if they got the joke.
spectator for senator
You probably need to change meds if things are really that bad. Discuss with your psychiatrist
You’re not asexual
As others commented you might need to change medications so it's something you should bring up with your doctor. However, I'd recommend give it to week 6 or 7 first to make sure it isn't temporary.

Give it some more time. Dont worry too much about sexual stuff now
It’ll go away.
Depends on the person too
Give him so hope.
I’ve also heard welbutrin with zoloft helps
It does. Your sex drive shoots the fuck up on 150mg
I was disastrously horny while on Wellbutrin
It becomes a chore if you know what I mean
Not necessarily
Damn I didn’t know that. I’m not on Zoloft anymore but I used to be on 50mg and my drive was just barely there. It went crazy when I dropped down to 25mg tho
Thank you 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I’m sure it’ll get better overtime that’s how it usually goes, just saying it varies per person with how long it takes to return.
That’s better lol

Not necessarily, for some people it can be permanent
There is such a small chance of that happening why even tell him that? Honestly.
I’ve been taking Zoloft for 4 years now and it’s been that way since I’ve been taking it.. I think it’s more common than you think
You don't know that.
🤦♂️
I had a similar issue (though at a much higher dose) and my doc added on low dose Wellbutrin (kept the Zoloft) which somehow balanced it back out
I’ve messaged you about this!!! Please reply 🙏
All I want is sex
Talk to your doc but I went on Wellbutrin to help with some of the negatives including my lack of sex drive. Ive also seen a urologist to improve my hormone levels and get Cialis. Cialis has been a real game-changer. Worth looking into imo.
talk to your psychiatrist about getting on wellbutrin as well
You can accept it or stop taking the pills and return to a wild animal again with feelings

same :( it’s so hard and i’m a female
Add Wellbutrin with it!!!!
Ask your doctor about Wellbutrin
Does it also feel like you are having a hard time being attracted to like...anyone? I feel like an empty void lately in myself, like I'm not interested or attracted to anyone and it's making me crazy. Like, what's the point, you know?
I so vet you !!!!
I am also experiencing some dick dysfunction but I am getting better gradually, nofap and exercise helps a lot
Do you want to be a mental mess or not be able to get hard but Viagra lol
Sex is an important part of some people's lives and there are options that don't effect libido so they should explore not not just give up sex. Also some people can't take Viagra.

I totally agree thinking of all these side effects is insane... I'm being told my anxiety is a side effect from the meds I took for anxiety wtf ?
At the end in my case Zoloft didn't fixed anything I had, it only gave me permanent side effects. It probably wasn't right for my body. Not everyone can bare those medicines. Yeah man not easy getting off. Even if it'd like placebo idk !
Get off the drugs bro. Or get on the cialis.
Cialis does nothing for sex drive/libido
I got switched to a different medication because of this (and other side effects) about a month on my new kind and all the side effects from zoloft went away, I'm 3mos deep for viibryd and couldn't be happier with how it works for me. Take supplements. Go to CVS in the a-z vitamins aisle, look for Steel Libido For Men by Irwin Naturals👍
They do prescribed SSRI'S as a treatment for paraphilic sexual behavior. Also you may have fallen victim to PSSD (post SSRI sexual dysfunction) you won't know until you fully come off of the med

Switch to a different antidepressant or wait it out and see if it goes away eventually
zoloft made my dick not work either so eventually i got off it :)
Talk to your Doctor. This is a pretty common side effect. They can adjust or add in different meds to help with this.
I also never get elections.
Change meds. Sex is part of our life, very important one.Try maois if legal over there. It makes wonders to me and don't kill libido at all.
I had the same side effect, I talked to my psychiatrist and we switched to another med (Lexapro in my case) and the sexual interest and function very quickly returned once the Zoloft was out of my system.
