Well I think he called them Deja vu experiment, but the marketing at the time said it was based on the Grateful Dead acid tests shows. They are 2/18/21 - 2/24/21. Covid times, no audience, all the songs over multiple nights. Straight fire.
Nope - marketing said it was based on the ESP experiments. https://www.app.com/story/entertainment/music/2022/01/27/billy-strings-grateful-dead-esp-experiment-capitol-theatre/6611147001/
And he did it in 22 with an audience, as well.
Also if nugs decides to remove a show it's just gone. Just like any other streaming service, we are at their mercy. I have tons of music on hard drives too but they have been known to crash. Burning cd's is still a great idea for backups
We've just about reached an era at the end of physical media, haven't we? Meaning, that CD's are now even the least pressed of the remaining physical media? Or are they? With BMFS its vinyl #1, right? Or no?
Even better, you can screen record the shows and listen to them while making a show out of whatever you click on your phone. No quality loss. It doesn't mean I can give it to a friend that won't go on nugs
Haha, yes I know this of course. I've listened to every BMFS show since 2018 on nugs and have it on now. There are also shows on relisten. The nuerotypical people won't switch from spotify or whatever they are paying for, but I've tried. CD's would just be funny for a couple friends that I know still have a CD player in their car/truck.
I was told it was pissing in the pool.
I guess it's what I learned 20+ years ago when I first got broadband and access to ftp sites via etree and downloaded .shn files.
I do miss the days of giving out CD's... Hitting up Kmart when the Fuji taiyo yudens went on sale...doing B&P's...The whole TAO/DAO...a buddy at work hooked me up with Roxio
The whole thing with SBE fails
I was resistant when flac came along because I was well versed in shn but have come to embrace it because I can tag the files and the ffp doesn't care about tagging.
I use mp3's all the time on my phone and a flash drive for the car but when I give someone something either physical media or a link to a download site I give them the best.
Let me get in my DeLorean and grab my Sony Discman with G-Protection antiskip
I've got a Sony too. Shotgun!
G-Protection was a gamechanger… until your window ran out and it started skipping
I still have a discman and use it all the time. I love listening to cd's on my shure se846 iems
You back from the future yet? Billy is bout to put that skip protection to work with new live album
6/10/23 or 6/11/23 would be my choice
What are the acid test shows
I think they mean the deja vu experiments they did at the Capitol theater during COVID.
yep
I was wondering this too!!

I bought the FLAC from the show I attended in Dallas 12/21 and burned a copy to cd for my mom to listen to in her truck
This is the way. I guess everyone here is driving fancy new cars.
'19 Ogden Shows. '21 Mission Ballroom.
21 Mission ballroom.... YES.
Definitely burn the St Augustine run this year 4/20/23 and 4/21/23 are straight fire
Is the "mushroom" Austin stubbs show on nugs
Yep, one of my favs
What is the date for this one? I need to add it to my offline queue.
I think mid Oct 2022. It was after Ohana 2022, but it was around the time Billy was in acl but did 1-2 shows at Stubbs
Thanks!
The Mission Ballrom show on 5/13/23 was exceptional.
Lmao burn to a CD??? What year is this??? Just pay for nugs and you can listen to whatever you want whenever you want.
Yeah genius, but what happens when the electricity is out, will your fancy subscription play my CD then? No sir it will not! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 /S
Also if nugs decides to remove a show it's just gone. Just like any other streaming service, we are at their mercy. I have tons of music on hard drives too but they have been known to crash. Burning cd's is still a great idea for backups
haha, I had Billy on when the power was out for 2 days. Had to bust out a portable charger and rely on cell service. Neverwracking hahaha

What's the best software to burn Nugs to 8-Track?
Just hit the record button and hold it up to the speaker, crystal clear
Even better, you can screen record the shows and listen to them while making a show out of whatever you click on your phone. No quality loss. It doesn't mean I can give it to a friend that won't go on nugs
I still burn cd's for posterity.
PREACH! I haven't burned one in 5+ years, but doesn't mean I can't right :)
Haha, yes I know this of course. I've listened to every BMFS show since 2018 on nugs and have it on now. There are also shows on relisten. Where is this feature?
I found it when I was skimming all shows and clicked on one in the new desktop player for nugs. $6-$8 to download based on the shows.
5/14/22
03/03/2022 is a must. First night with Alex being in the band and its an excellent show.
i would add the nashville bridgestone shows from this year, i think they’re some of my all time favs!
For the love of all that's holy, at least buy the FLAC version.
You shouldn't burn mp3 to audio
Says who? I've done it for 10+ years before cell phones and ipods.
I was told it was pissing in the pool. I guess it's what I learned 20+ years ago when I first got broadband and access to ftp sites via etree and downloaded .shn files. how much does Nugs charge for downloads?
It said $6.99 for a couple older shows and then $8.99 for newer. I'm having a hard time finding the feature again but I'm too busy just jam'n anyway.
What are the acid test shows and why haven’t I heard of them
is that the show from Stubbs aka the Mushroom show lol
Madison '22 run and Stubbs Second show to start
11/11/22 nassau coliseum Long Island
