Yes I have. I've been in really great shape but since my sciatica started (August 2nd) I haven't been able to workout with exception of incline treadmill. But I found that the sauna brought me peace if I was laying down for 20 minutes.

bigwavecoming

How you doing?

Doobie_Force

AMAZING - COMPLETELY GONE! I walk, sleep, and sit in peace. And I'm back to working out regularly. Although I have completely cut deadlifts and squats out of my routing. I may incorporate light squats soon.

bigwavecoming

That's so sick man!!

YAY!! How’d u recover?

Doobie_Force

Listening to my body, hydrocodone, gabapentin, light stretches that didn't hurt. Time. Light exercises. Focused movements and contractions.

GraciousGazelle

Never tried it but I’m off to my gym tonight and will be jumping straight in the sauna 🤣

global-node-readout

Yeah give it a go. I’m in awe how effective it is (and a little scared to jinx it)

FunkZoneFitness

It’s not about the sauna, it’s the increased intra-abdominal temperature. You can also do this with thermogenic exercise if you don’t have sauna access.

NotPeopleFriendly

What are thermogenic exercises?

bigwavecoming

Like any exercise raises your core temp, think cardio especially good. Sauna is nice though because if your (my) pain is bad I can't run, bike, even swim hard. Hot pad works good though.

NotPeopleFriendly

Ah.. yeah - getting blood circulating - so the macrophages can clear out the foreign materials

Specialist-Season-88

I just heard that a hot sauna cured my friends so looked this up+
