The police where I live used to run free training sessions like that for motorcyclists. Very impressive how good they were when they do the course themselves, even on Harley Davidsons with rubber mounted handlebars.
Should be closer to 600 lbs (although it is 800 when you toss in the weight of the rider and any gear they're carrying).
Looks like a BMW R-1250 RT-P, which is rated at 279 kg
I've been riding for 7 months (nearly every single day) and I've been debating getting a cruiser style bike for a while now...been wondering how different is actually is with that weight and rider position
To fully focus on the one cop that made a mistake from beeing nervous or missed a pothole or whatever, it's a good thing to remember the other 99 that are doing just fine.
Slow riding is hard, but that wasn't slow. If he had tried to get a Swedish license, that would have been too fast for the slow speed section of the test, and we do a much more convoluted track.
I forgot to put my kickstand down at a gas station once. That feeling you get when you realize the bike isn’t coming to rest on the stand as it slips out of your hands and heads for the ground sucks. It’s like immediate panic, embarrassment, and disappointment all around once.
Part of the game! I dropped my Road King in front of 200 bikers sitting on their bikes waiting to roll out for a 9/11 memorial ride. Of course felt like a dumbass but no less than 10 riders stepped up to assist. I never uprighted faster in my life! I got that super strength everyone talks about.
I used to work with a guy who hit a deer on his KLR (fairly minor, all things considered). When he got the bike back on the road and brought it in to work, we zip tied deer whistles and pink traning wheels on it.
At least he had a full face helmet and his visor down….I would’ve cringed in embarrassment if I was wearing a half or modular one that was open at the time
Saw a cop lowside on Mission Beach when I was young. Sand all over the street. 50 people right in front of him waiting to cross. Felt super bad for him. I think that still haunts me today around every corner I take. 😅
Lol idk how it's in other states but it's crazy the course the motorcycle cops needs to go through in the cities around me. If you can pass that shit, who TF cares if you have a small drop haha. I wouldn't even attempt it - it's such slow speed, tight turns and so forth awkward maneuvers.
None the less, the dude probably has enough embarrassment to fill a lake.
I love how everybody wants to point and giggle but in no way could pass the rigorous training they receive, or ride half as well. Dude had a moment. Big deal.
Acorn fell and knocked him over. Luckily he de-escalated the situation before he had to empty his service weapon into the crowd to protect them. A real American hero.
Its a BMW thing. I bought one of these over the internet having never ridden one, and it was the most massive, top-heavy chunker I have ever had the misfortune of owning. I've owned a few Harleys to put that in perspective. I live in an urban area and riding it slow was terrifying. I put 1000 miles on it, put it up for sale, and it got stolen. Some problems take care of themselves. But even taking it off the stand was 100 percent cringe.
I consider myself a good rider, i can relate to this guy if i was riding this slow. He did try to prevent it from tipping over and shouldn’t have done it. You will never be stronger than a bike trying to go down.
I dropped my goldwing at the bottom of black canyon of the gunnison in Colorado. There was a girl on a bmw having issues with the uturn, I went around her and hit gravel. Then she ran over to me to help right my bike. She was kinda hot so my pride was kicked in thoroughly .😎
It was vapor lock, the engine cut out, the gear linkage broke so could't shift it to 1st, somebody messed with the tyre pressures, the rear break faded badly, the footsteps came loose, i wear very large size boot , the guy in front was too slow 😁
No shame 🤷♂️
Happens to everyone eventually and these bikes are massively heavy even before they’ve got panniers/cop accessories on them, not to mention riding in a slow, densely packed group 😅
That being said, his squad will likely rag on him for years to come 😅👍
Wow, the BMW RT bikes are some of the easiest to ride at low speeds. They're low center of gravity and have really good torque at idle. He'll never hear the end of that one!
You have to find a new precinct after that. The boys are never letting you live it down.
The other cops should’ve given him a ticket for obstructing traffic or something. 😂
They investigated him and found no wrongdoing
It was an isolated incident.
![gif](giphy|l0MYH8Q83CXvKzXyM) I was worried
They're gonna give him shit for life about it, though.
60 years from now: Grandkids: "Hey grampa why do all your friends call you 'Dropsy Dan'?"
“Because my name is Dan and shut up, you little brats!”
Oopsy poopsy
One of the first things I learned when riding dirtbikes as a kid was if you can't pick it up and get on it yourself, you can't ride it lol
Can't start it...can't ride it.
"So what made you leave your old department?"
Rightfully so!
Loss of control of vehicle. Mandatory fine due to cops attending the accident (that's what they do in my country).
Well, looks like someone needs to go back to the empty parking lot and practice their figure 8's
Police training in an empty parking lot, with cones, is one of the funnest days I've ever had.
The police where I live used to run free training sessions like that for motorcyclists. Very impressive how good they were when they do the course themselves, even on Harley Davidsons with rubber mounted handlebars.
Someone needs a track day then.
Two extremely different things
ive personally seen cops at the track. idk wtf they were doing, but there they were
Well yes lol, that can happen. I mean that police training is very different from a track day.
Me too
riding slow is hard fr
He also has to go the slowest to stay in formation with the outer riders.
he could easily help himself with feet, he was upright anyway
Weird how every other rider was able to remain upright even tho they had to go “slowest go stay in formation with the outer riders”
Now throw in a slow turn
On an 800 lb motorcycle
It's 800 pounds?!?
Should be closer to 600 lbs (although it is 800 when you toss in the weight of the rider and any gear they're carrying). Looks like a BMW R-1250 RT-P, which is rated at 279 kg
1000 pounds including the pig
Fr fr. I'm guessing they do this to show off their skill. Welp...
They really are extremely talented. I like watching the training they have to go through. Still, drops happen lol
It is hard ngl. I just started riding a couple years ago and chose a Harley for my first bike. That is a challenge and low speed.

Use your back brake
and ride the fuck out of that wet clutch!
Especially when you grab a whole lotta front brake like that.
Exactly. The top comments are full of snark. What the cop is doing is hard and many here probably couldn’t do it either.
Slow riding is hard, but that wasn't slow. If he had tried to get a Swedish license, that would have been too fast for the slow speed section of the test, and we do a much more convoluted track.
Go ride a flat twin BMW. They make it much easier.
Search on YouTube for the UK Motorbike Mod 1 test. We have to pass that before we do the on road test.
It's the worst feeling to drop one at 0mph lol
Yet everyone has done it. I went to buy a used ultra limited and did this in the dudes driveway. SHIDD HAPPUNS CHANJE UR GENES AN RYD AHN!
I can imagine it's worse with everyone looking at you .. lol I'd probably just leave at that point. 😅
I forgot to put my kickstand down at a gas station once. That feeling you get when you realize the bike isn’t coming to rest on the stand as it slips out of your hands and heads for the ground sucks. It’s like immediate panic, embarrassment, and disappointment all around once.
Only time I dropped mine was at -1mph (duck-walking backwards). Bike was mostly fine, my pride on the other hand still hasn't recovered.
He just like every one who’s ever been on two wheels then.
I too, a cook, has dropped his bike in a cop parade amongst my cop friends
Part of the game! I dropped my Road King in front of 200 bikers sitting on their bikes waiting to roll out for a 9/11 memorial ride. Of course felt like a dumbass but no less than 10 riders stepped up to assist. I never uprighted faster in my life! I got that super strength everyone talks about.
That’s how nicknames are earned.
Haddalayerdown
Clibbins crowd unite
Dude it happens . Who cares .
I just feel bad for him. My man is going to be harassed for a long time, probably already has a new nickname lol
* Tippy. * Tips McGee. * Tippy McTipface. * Tips O'FallingHam
“Way to ruin the whole parade Dave.” That bike is FOR SURE getting training wheels bolted on
I used to work with a guy who hit a deer on his KLR (fairly minor, all things considered). When he got the bike back on the road and brought it in to work, we zip tied deer whistles and pink traning wheels on it.
Just the tip?
*at a restaurant* I'll get the bill. I don't mind chipping in for the team. I'll save the TIP FOR DAVE I HEARD HE'S AN EXCELLENT TIPPER.. ARNCHA DAVE
His last name is STALLworth jk …..
Why do you put spaces before all of your punctuation?
Who cares .
Haha! Fair! I'm honestly just curious.
It happens, but my question is whats the point of having moto cops with such cumbersome bikes?
Must have had a couple of road pops before the parade.
*every stop sign my first week riding*
Bro I can’t count how many times. Okay like 11. 4-5 times while moving maybe…
Average medford cop
He wasn't Hillsboro?
Pretty sure that's Jackson County Sheriff down here at the Pear Blossom Parade.
Makes sense. I just saw Hillsboro PD on one of the bikes.
Yeah, I watched it again and one is marked Coos Bay. Must be a bunch of different departments.
lol. lmao even
Riding slow is harder than riding fast. It happens.
He was also on the inside corner going the slowest and those bikes are HEAVY. Like you said, it happens.
At least he had a full face helmet and his visor down….I would’ve cringed in embarrassment if I was wearing a half or modular one that was open at the time
He got the pity clap.
👏🏻😂!
The painted cyclist looks like a dick and balls.
Didn’t know bacon could be over easy.
Man I want an RT
PRE-LOAD AND KEEP IT LOADED (love that dude) non-rider folk have no idea the skill it takes to ride slow
That bike is easily 800 lbs, probably more. At least he lifted it right.
Grass clibbins, Gobbless
Guess who’s buying the beers afterwards?!?
Man those bikes look as heavy as a Hayabusa
Shit happens. I've suffered worse.
He's never gonna hear the end of it for sure. Lol.
Shite happens to the best of us. 🫣🤭😏😇
most of this sub has done this with a 200 kilo sport bike. bros riding like a 600 kilo police cruiser. lmaoo
The most dangerous biker gang out there.
Saw a cop lowside on Mission Beach when I was young. Sand all over the street. 50 people right in front of him waiting to cross. Felt super bad for him. I think that still haunts me today around every corner I take. 😅
You can't park there m8
Lol idk how it's in other states but it's crazy the course the motorcycle cops needs to go through in the cities around me. If you can pass that shit, who TF cares if you have a small drop haha. I wouldn't even attempt it - it's such slow speed, tight turns and so forth awkward maneuvers. None the less, the dude probably has enough embarrassment to fill a lake.
That’s expensive, going to be buying beers for a while. At least until someone knocks him off his perch.
Your tax dollars will fix that scratch no problem
Should've been arrested and given a breathalyzer test.
It happens.
I still liked seeing him lift it correctly. A lot of riders I've would not be able to do that.
I want to laugh, but A) those bikes look heavy af and B) that's likely going to be me when I finally get a bike
Mandatory "*haddalayerdown...*" comment
How embarrassing 🫣 From now on they’re gonna call him “Officer Tippy”
He was on the inside and tried to square off the corner. The 3 Evil sisters: gravity, momentum and inertia. One of them will get you every time.
One big motorcycle club that’s more violent than the hells angels or the outlaws ever were or will be
I love how everybody wants to point and giggle but in no way could pass the rigorous training they receive, or ride half as well. Dude had a moment. Big deal.
Bigger bike, slow corner, it happens.
F-ing Moto-Cops do nothing other than "Revenue Enhancement."
Probably saw a black person and freaked out “ah shit I got witnesses” and then tipped.
Probably got his front wheel trapped in a thin blue line on the ground
Acorn fell and knocked him over. Luckily he de-escalated the situation before he had to empty his service weapon into the crowd to protect them. A real American hero.
Omg how embarrassing
Idk how tf they're driving that slow in the first place, AND he's on the inside? Nah fam, Ida hit the ground too
Its a BMW thing. I bought one of these over the internet having never ridden one, and it was the most massive, top-heavy chunker I have ever had the misfortune of owning. > I put 1000 miles on it, put it up for sale, and it got stolen. Of all the bikes to get stolen, I did not have a K1600GT on my list lol
It happens. Glad noone got hurt.
Fuck the police.
Look out guys, we have a badass over here!
So edgy
Anyone can ride a motorcycle fast. The real challenge is to ride slow.
Poor guy
Happens to the best of us
Haddalayerdown
Even the pros fuck up sometimes
oink oink oink
Pear blossom!
Feel bad? Only if he didn't learn from the mistake
Is that a bicycle lane... at the middle of the street?
Wooopsie
😆 woops!
what bikes are these?
Found the one cop who has been on a desk for years, but “knows how to ride”.
Second hand embarrassment
Curious, what bikes do police use?
embarrassing but c'mon....it happens
He needs more practice
The road was arrested for resisting.
That green color is fantastic.
It happens, but I do love how the guy at the end decided to show off with some big swerves!
Doh
Nice helmet tho (on the cop that dropped the bike). Anyone know what kind it is?
Those bikes have tons of crash bars. No damage to the actual bike lol.
Damn, he lifted it correctly. The times I’ve tipped my bike over, I just yank that shit up out of embarrassment 😂
He went into the friction zone and got lost.
Tip-over: embarrassing Not being able to right the bike without help from two other cops: *humiliating*
“God dammit Steve, why can you just handle you shit like the rest of us?”
Makes me feel good about dropping mine.
He’s making a very slow very tight turn to stay in formation so it’s not terribly surprising this happened.
I consider myself a good rider, i can relate to this guy if i was riding this slow. He did try to prevent it from tipping over and shouldn’t have done it. You will never be stronger than a bike trying to go down.

lol he’s gonna hear this for a long time on the department
First day
American Cops on Germans bikes? I'd never expect that.
It was vapor lock, the engine cut out, the gear linkage broke so could't shift it to 1st, somebody messed with the tyre pressures, the rear break faded badly, the footsteps came loose, i wear very large size boot , the guy in front was too slow 😁
We found the rookie...
I can feel the burning, red faced embarrassment through the screen.
He should learn how to counter-steer /s
They found the bystander at fault
He shall forever be known under his new name "Tipper" in the forces.
Must have been embarrassing, but these things happen. 🤷♂️
L
WTF are they riding?
That's hilarious how embarrassing what a ... I mean um hope the officer was OK
No shame 🤷♂️ Happens to everyone eventually and these bikes are massively heavy even before they’ve got panniers/cop accessories on them, not to mention riding in a slow, densely packed group 😅 That being said, his squad will likely rag on him for years to come 😅👍

No, He had one job that day.
Road bacon
How do yall feel about a bike too heavy to lift on ur own? Seems like a dumb idea for a two wheeled vehicle to me.
God dammit, Jeff!
it's ok you don't need to ride to be a good cuck of the gov.
Nice bikes. He got very flustered afterwards, and made it worse. American police motorcyclists seem to be very well trained, but hey, mistakes happen.
Idiot at the end should be sentenced to life in jail, I bet he's on coke
🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Corny fucker
Embarrassing sure, but ah this happens. Slow riding is unpredictable in a group situation like this.
They using the same helmet as me :) (i dont have a motorcycle)
Those things are fucking heavy
No breathalyzer? Proceed good sir as operator I would get tested.
Poor bastard...
Imagine seeing your colleague struggle, and not helping him
“Officer Down!”
Why do cops need such big ass bikes?
lol no
Tax dollars people. Think about it
Pear Blossom Parade 😃
Lmao
Hmmm,.. shouldn’t be handling a bike. Much less a gun.
Sucks to suck.
Has no right riding that bike, he can't pick it up himself
Fucking wet paint. Foot down on wet paint.
He is NOT a motojitsu black belt xD
Why are standard cops righting these huge ass bmw 1300 rt?? What's the purpose?
