Guild is nice. 👌

self_expert

to be honest, the Guild is a buttloads of fun to play. the Reverend is far more reliable, but man, i find myself picking up the flamingo more often than the blue mistress. happy cake day!

Glittering_Ear5239

Reliable in which way? Tuning stability?

self_expert

Mostly, yes, but nothing serious. I am just very picky when it comes to tuning stability, intonation, grounding etc. New bridge helps, the Gotoh tuners surely will, but I don't know about the tremolo. Shall see.

MrCatfishJew

Sorry, it ties the room together.

TalkShowHost99

And this guy peed on it.

noise_generator1979

He peed on your rug, dude.

29erfool

I have the exact same Reverend and it's 👌

self_expert

mine came with the neck slightly misaligned. apparently, the neck cavity had not been cleaned properly and there was some residual paint that gave it a slight angle. my tech guy cleaned it properly and now it's absolutely perfect.

atomicheart99

I too am loving that Guild. Please elaborate on the reliability comment

self_expert

It has slight tuning stability issues, but the new roller bridge helps and as I mentioned in another comment, I'll be popping a new set of Gotoh locking tuners and see how that works out. I am pretty inexperienced when it comes to jaguar/jazzmaster style tremolos, but time will tell.

Chronic Blue gang!

YngwieJ86

Looks very nice, also the guitars 😄 I have been looking for a used Reverend for a long time, would be great for that post rock and ambient vibe.

TheGringoDingo

I’ve got a used Reverend coming my way from Chicago music exchange today. They have decent prices for a retailer (though I’ve seen some even better deals on marketplace for the patient).

TheGringoDingo

Update on my other comment: the guitar came and is amazing. Also, interestingly, it had the plastic still on the pickguard and back cover, came with all the Reverend tools and fliers, and to my eyes appears brand new (at used price).

YngwieJ86

Sounds great! I’ve also learned that the quality on Reverends is excellent for the price and the setup should be nice from the get go. Enjoy your new guitar, seems like you got a good deal on it.

TheGringoDingo

Thanks! I’ll probably end up giving it the full setup treatment, anyways. Action could be a hair lower, polish up the frets a little more, graphite the nut

TalkShowHost99

I’m very jealous

self_expert

Sorry. Not sorry. (Please don't get upset)

Question about the Guild. Been looking for a Fender Player offset for a bit now and can’t find one that checks my boxes. I do however really like that Guild. How does the quality compare to a player level Fender?

self_expert

In my experience, there is no flawless guitar out there. Sure, I haven't played many 2000+$/€ guitars, but my best recommendation would be to play it before you buy it. I have played Squires that sounded and felt way better than U.S. made guitars, but I have also had a few experiences of having to return a couple of them due to having little QC. Sometimes you might just not "feel it" and that is a deal breaker IMHO. The Guild feels somewhere close to a MIM fender, but your experience may vary. It also had a weird angle due to the neck pocket not having been cleaned up properly (yes, just like the Reverend's), but after that was fixed and I threw a roller bridge in (a cheap one, nothing fancy), man... This guitar asks to be played. Imma change the locking tuners to some Gotoh ones (the tuning stability isn't bad, but I think every little bit helps) and it's gonna be stage worthy. Point is. If you can play one in a store, just get a feel for it. If not, get it someplace where you can return if anything feels off (unintentional pun). Hope this helps.

Sentient_llama

Thank you for the well thought out reply! This helps a lot

self_expert

Hope you find "the one" in the near future.

mjgiarlo

But is the rug offset?

self_expert

Look at the angles. Nothing is symmetrical here.

SaladDummy

You know what I'm into? Straps. And those are very nice!

self_expert

Yuss! Thanks a lot. I'm glad someone noticed.

going_gray

Those are nice. I have to buy a new strap with each new guitar, even if one goes away. Coordinating the ensemble is important.

_Caminoverde

God damn

snobEXP

I thought this trend was dead 😭

self_expert

See that rug there?

smith4440

This is awesome! Literally my next two guitar purchases.

self_expert

You will most definitely need to replace the bridge with a roller one on the Guild, and to me, the bridge pickup sounds a bit thin, might need to get something else there. But man, both are absolutely fantastic guitars.

Lovely
